1966 was one of the best years for the design team at the Chrysler Corporation. With clean lines and a muscular stance, this Newport is a great combination of luxury and big block performance. The 383 cubic inch V8 runs beautifully, and with new wheels and tires this Chrysler cruises at highway speeds effortlessly. This is the last year for the art deco instrument cluster, including the very distinctive humped dashboard that houses a gun-sight speedometer, conjuring America's obsession with space exploration and flight during the 1960's. This particular Newport is in really nice shape and is ready to drive and enjoy. The lights, radio, windows, wipers, etc. all work as they should. The interior is in extremely nice shape and very comfortable. The guys at Chrysler in the '60's really hit the nail on the head with driver positioning, because from my first drive of this Newport I felt as if I'd owned it for years. I'm over 6 ft tall and it is as roomy and luxurious as any car I've owned. This Chrysler is a great chance to get a big block Mopar cruiser with a nice mix of aggressive looks and art deco luxury in a beautiful color combination. If you are interested, I like doing trades too, so maybe that'll work. Here is a link to many more photos: https://www.flickr.com/photos/97286492@N06/albums/72157660384232280 I have owned and collected classic cars for the last 26 years, beginning with the 1969 Dodge Charger I bought when I was sixteen, and which I still own today. I still own my 2nd car as well, a 1983 Pontiac Trans Am, which I drove from my senior year in high school through to my second year of graduate school in the department of English at the University of Central Florida in Winter Park, FL. So my passion for classic cars -- and especially Mopars -- has been a lifelong pursuit and is about the most fun I can imagine having. I am an Oxford-educated motorhead that's been car crazy since bell bottoms were in style the first time around. And because I love to find, own, drive and collect all kinds of classic cars, there comes a point when I have to sell a few of them to keep my collection manageable, or else they all don't get exercised like they should. This is one of those times. My collection has expanded to about 16 cars, when really, if I am totally honest with myself, I should get it down to about twelve so that I have the time to drive and enjoy them all. I am a firm believer that cars should and need to be driven. And when I can't drive them all enough, I go through the process of letting a few of them go on to new owners that will hopefully get out there and drive them more than I have time to. That is why I am offering the 1966 Newport two-door for sale at this time. Please contact me with any questions, I hope to hear from you. Thank you for viewing my 6-passenger 1966 Chrysler Town & Country Wagon, equipped with a 383 cubic inch V8 engine and optional roof rack. It also features a power rear window, working A/C and power seats. The original owner cared for this very special wagon from 1966 until very shortly before I was lucky enough to purchase it in June of 2013. As far as I know, the original owner is the only registrant of this Town & Country over it's lifetime. The volume of records and documentation included with the car is simply astounding, and I can only imagine that it is every piece of paperwork associated with it since its purchase in 1966. The bill of sale and window sticker are included and wonderfully intact. This is an extremely special car and once-in-a-lifetime example of the sort of stewardship every collector admires. I've enjoyed this Town & Country immensely over the past two years and have only done a few minor things care for it properly. I got the A/C blowing cold again and upgraded the wheels and tires for both ride quality and appearance, but I made sure to keep the wheels and hubcaps that were on the car when I purchased it. I also replaced the muffler which had passed its prime with a nice new muffler with a nice mellow tone. Otherwise, just general care and maintenance was all that it required. I have owned and collected classic cars for the last 26 years, beginning with the 1969 Dodge Charger I bought when I was sixteen, and which I still own today. I still own my 2nd car as well, a 1983 Pontiac Trans Am, which I drove from my senior year in high school through to my second year of graduate school in the department of English at the University of Central Florida in Winter Park, FL. This is the reason I am proudly offering my 1966 Chrysler Town & Country for sale to its next proud owner. This is a beautiful car with a wonderful history that is in incredible shape and ready to be driven and enjoyed. You are viewing a 1968 Imperial Crown Coupe, equipped with a 440 cubic in. V8 engine, automatic transmission, black leather interior and power everything. The Crown Coupe -- an extremely rare car, as only 2,656 were made -- was Chrysler Corporation's flagship luxury coupe in 1968 and was a worthy competitor of the Cadillac Eldorado and the Lincoln Mark Series for the upper echelon of the American car market. This particular example is presented with a glassy gold finish and a black vinyl top, a very elegant combination that exudes the class and style that buyers with a certain discriminating taste were looking for in '68. And it still hits the mark. On a long drive this summer from my home in Clinton, NY through Utica and north toward Watertown, I witnessed the effect firsthand. The car garnered many waves and smiles, and I think most people were pleasantly surprised by a car that they couldn't readily identify. With such incredibly low production numbers, the chances of seeing one in its natural habitat are very slim. I think this gives everyone a real thrill. The Crown Coupe is a real pleasure to drive, it fires up eagerly and is silky smooth rolling down the highway. The legendary 440 cubic inch engine, one of the great motors of all time and probably second only to the "hemi"s in the Chrysler arsenal, is the perfect match to this big touring coupe. It cruises along effortlessly and provides a sensation of limitless torque that is an absolute joy to experience. Sitting in the leather bucket driver's seat looking over the beautiful dash and that long hood, its easy to be transported back to the late '60's when style and masculinity were at a pinnacle, when men dressed well, worked hard and made America the greatest country in the world. And they drove cars that are still seen as the benchmark of style and craftsmanship even today. My collection has expanded to about 20 cars, when really, if I am totally honest with myself, I should get it down to about twelve so that I have the time to drive and enjoy them all. I am a firm believer that cars should and need to be driven. And when I can't drive them all enough, I go through the painful process of letting a few of them go on to new owners that will hopefully get out there and drive them more than I have time to. Before its all said and done, there will be about seven up and available. This Imperial has been a real pleasure to own and while it isn't perfect, it is a wonderful example of maybe the lowest production luxury coupe every produced by the big three automakers. It is ready to be driven and enjoyed, and any improvements can be made while still being able to take it out for a Sunday drive. The car is equipped with A/C, which isn't working at the moment. That's one of those items you could address as you see fit. Here in New York, it just isn't that big of a deal. I have the original Imperial air cleaner and many other original parts. I was also able to locate two build sheets; I removed one and left the other in the car where it was placed when it was built more than 40 years ago. I've included videos of both build sheet locations, plus a walk-around of the car and many other photos at the links below. Otherwise, please let me know if you have any questions and of course you are more than welcome to come and view the car in person. I think you'll be pleased you did. As rare as this car is, determining an asking price wasn't easy, so I just went with the book price and I think its pretty fair when you consider the similar, much higher production luxury coupes out there. And if you have a cool classic car that you think I might be interested in, let me know, maybe we can work something out! 1971 Chrysler New Yorker. 440 cu in, automatic, 39,530 miles, power windows, power seats, incredibly clear AM radio. This is an extremely nice example of early '70's Mopar magic, with beautiful brocade seats and a glassy exterior. It is set and ready to go and in excellent shape. If you love Chryslers like I do, you can't help but be inspired by this well-preserved New Yorker. The 440 rumbles like a jungle cat and the BF Goodrich TA's provide a ride that is second to none. This is one of those times. I am a firm believer that cars should and need to be driven. And when I can't drive them all enough, I go through the painful process of letting a few of them go on to new owners that will hopefully get out there and drive them more than I have time to. As you can see, I have other cars listed for sale; and before its all said and done, there will be about ten up and available. Here is a link to more photos of this beautiful New Yorker: https://www.flickr.com/photos/97286492@N06/sets/72157647674881947/ And I also took a couple videos of me driving it on a spectacular morning recently: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ORqfkIdfS4 The condition and driveability of this Chrysler are just wonderful. It is an exceptional car that I am very proud to offer for sale.
