But, while those extensively customized rigs are always cool to look at, this 1953 Chevrolet 3100 manages to carry the same level of appeal without any major gimmicks. That's because, as we've stated numerous times, old school pickups are timeless slices of Americana that'll likely never fall out of fashion. The recipient of a concours-style, frame-off restoration, this Chevy exhibits a level of quality that was simply unobtainable on 1950s assembly lines. Pairing a 216 cubic inch 6-cylinder with a 3-speed manual transmission and striking Burgundy paint, it's sure to turn heads. And, if you're in the market for some sweet collector metal that can be driven, shown and fully enjoyed, it's exactly the ride you've been looking for! BODYWORK/TRIM After World War II, GM rolled out its Advance Design pickups nearly a full year ahead of its revised passenger cars. Why? Well, most agree that, because truck production continued throughout the war, the General's body dies were getting worn and needed replaced. It's a simple answer, and the kind of thinking you'd probably expect behind such a wonderfully uncomplicated machine. Naturally, this 3100's appeal begins on the outside where all-steel lines, memorable enough to inspire the Chevy HHR and SSR, are coated in a fantastic layer of Burgundy 2-stage. That paint, detailed with a Charcoal pinstripe, presents well from any angle, remaining a true testament to rock-solid bodywork that was conducted during the truck's no-holds-barred restoration. And everything adds up to one crisp and clean classic that's been finished to 100% show worthy standards! One of the best attributes of Advance Design pickups is their straightforward ornamentation. Not decorated to the hilt like most '40s and '50s cars, these blue-collar runabouts illustrate how solid design can remain fresh almost 70 years after it was introduced. At the front of this Chevy, a show-quality grille rides between a fresh chrome bumper, clean halogen headlights and a correctly trimmed hood. Behind that hood, a stainless-trimmed windshield leads a smoked greenhouse that's framed in bright, stainless wipers and a small driver's mirror. Beneath that mirror, a polished and bowtie-branded fuel filler floats amid stylized door handles and painted running boards. Between those boards, a spectacular Oak bed is detailed with stainless skid strips and bowtie-branded rail plugs. And beneath those plugs, a "CHEVROLET" branded tailgate reflects sleeved chains, polished tail lamps, a second chrome bumper and polished exhaust pipes. ENGINE Peer in to the truck's body-matched engine bay and you'll find a 216 cubic inch Thriftmaster 6-cylinder that was professionally rebuilt by Greeley Automotive Machine of Greeley, Colorado. Introduced for use in large platforms, and regarded as one of the all-time great Chevrolet powerplants, this "LBA" branded mill is a favorite among vintage GM truck buyers because of its simple design, adequate power and excellent durability. At the top of the block, painted Weber carburetors mix wind, supplied by satin-finish air cleaners, with fuel that's piped through braided lines and high quality XRP fittings. Those carbs ride on a clean Fenton intake, which floats above cast Fenton exhaust manifolds. Opposite those manifolds, a fresh distributor, which sequences fire between MSD Heli-Core Solid Suppression wires and a polished, 12-volt alternator, twists on a tough Comp camshaft. A beefy radiator provides cooling with the help of a large pusher fan and polished cap. And items like a Delco-Remy starter, a silver, "Chevrolet" branded valve cover and a polished oil cap ensure the bright blue powerplant is very impressive to look at. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Crawling under this classy bowtie reveals body-matched floors and a powder-coated frame that have never seen the slightest hint of inclement weather. Power meets the pavement through a traditional Muncie 3-speed, which is tied to a 10-bolt, highway-friendly rear end. Correct leaf springs and big drum brakes occupy all four corners of the chassis, mixing rugged road prowess with firm and solid stops. A polished, dual-pipe exhaust system, which is wired to a polished Patrick's muffler, runs the entire length of the truck. Everything rolls on chrome steel wheels, which turn 245/60R15 Goodyear Eagle STs around "CHEVROLET" branded hubcaps. And details like a silver oil pan, stainless fluid lines, a fresh brake booster, a silver flywheel cover and an Optima gel cell battery round out an impressive restoration. INTERIOR One part vintage and one part modern, this pickup's warm and welcoming interior looks straight out of an old school Hot Rod magazine. At the front of the cockpit, a glossy Burgundy dash hangs classy Haneline gauges opposite an old school locking glovebox. In front of that dash, a cushy seat features "CHEVROLET 53" branded lap belts. At the bottom of that seat, clean carpet frames factory foot pedals. Opposite that carpet, a fresh-looking headliner flows from a polished rearview mirror to a simple dome lamp. At the sides of the passengers, body-matched doors feature minimalist upholstery and traditional chrome handles. And in front of the driver, a half-wrapped Billet Specialties steering wheel laps a factory shifter and chrome turn signal switch. OUR SALE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTATIONA small binder of restoration photosA stack of restoration receiptsA cam cardA stack of paperwork for the truck's high quality componentry If you're looking for a unique classic that mixes a world-class restoration with unmatched style and unparalleled fun, this truck deserves your full attention. Instead we'll give you a moment to look at the quality of this chopped and lowered hot rod V8 pickup. That way you can already have a deep desire for its custom touches before we talk about this Chevy's cool story you'll love to share. This is the pickup truck that got American moving again after WWII. In fact, Chevy even acknowledged these more as a continuation of the Pre-War, 1942 model year from a design and engineering standpoint. It has some rarity because Chevrolet stopped producing the C/K series in May of 1946 because they wanted to introduce improvements before 1947. That makes this a less than one-year production model. Of course what you see here is far from an original museum piece frozen in time from the mid 40's. It takes the American hero, and transforms it into a very American hot rod. It starts with a nice tribute to the most plentiful color available in the immediate post-war, Turret Gray, but this is the exact opposite of drab. There is a metallic element introduced that amazes from even across a show field. In a nice touch, the bumpers have been removed to help emphasize the rounded front end that complements the 40s-style flowing fenders in the front and rear. The staggered size of the American Racing Torq Thrust wheels give this one an aggressive, and low, forward-leaning stance that is further amplified by the chopped cab. The custom work even extends to the bed, where the wood floor has been traded for a more durable metal one, and the tailgate even has Chevy's "Heartbeat of America" slogan, which has added significance on this patriot. You know the custom work continues on the interior the moment you use the door poppers because the door handles have been shaved in true hot rod fashion. Plus, they are now hinged in the rear for a sought after suicide door upgrade. You're immediately greeted by a tan leather with textured ostrich inserts on the custom bucket seats, door panels, and even the Chevy bow tie headliner. From the driver's seat this pickup looks like a work of art. It starts with a custom sports steering wheel, in ostrich and chrome. Beyond that is a full set of Classic Instruments gauges that are both crafty, and shiny. The rest of the upper dash shares the exterior gray, and houses the AM/FM/CD stereo. Below that is a custom panel made of machined metal that holds the controls for air conditioning. Open the hood, and you'll see something much more significant that the original six-cylinder. It's Chevy's trusty and infinitely upgradeable 305 cubic-inch V8. It looks nice with brightwork pieces such as the A/C compressor and air cleaner, and even the valve covers have been painted to match the engine bay. But beyond just looking good, this one is built to be a reliable driver, with an aluminum radiator and electric cooling fan. There's more evidence of this being a road king when you take a look under the pickup, where you'll spot power steering, an independent front suspension, and front disc brakes. It even has a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission with highway-friendly overdrive. But even as fun and easy this one is to drive, you still let the world know this is a hot rod with the nice rumble from Cherry Bomb mufflers on the dual exhaust. The looks you get from people will be admiration, not envy. After all, everyone loves a patriot, and this is your opportunity to own a very cool piece of American history that you can drive just about everywhere, and have nearly everyone wanting a better peek. From the AK era forward, every generation has found a solid following and, eventually, firm footing in the collector car world. Over the past few years, we've featured plenty of vintage, ground-pounding bowties, and this sleek '59 resto-mod is just the latest in a series of sweet Task Force head turners. Mixing a massaged small block and modern GM 4-speed with bodywork that'll sit well on any show field, this road-ready warrior is worthy of EVERY Chevrolet fan's full attention. If you're shopping for a clean classic that mixes modern detailing with purposeful simplicity, take a close look at this slick 3100! BODYWORK/TRIM A solid canvas that was ready to reflect some smooth street rod art, this super cool pickup benefitted from a ground-up, nut and bolt build that was designed for the street or the show. In addition to top-notch restoration, the truck's sculpted body was supplemented with custom inner fenders, wider wheel tubs, and a cut, smoothed and filled firewall. With that labor-intensive groundwork laid, a smoothed hood and custom roll pan framed a smoothed tailgate, shaved mirrors and a billet-trimmed Curly Maple bed. That slick fuselage eventually made its way to Washington's Whipple Motorsports for a seamless coat of Deep Black Gloss 2-stage. And, when that wet-looking pigment dried, finishing touches included modern headlights, amber parking lamps, capped wipers, tinted glass and bright LED taillights. ENGINE Toss the hood and you'll find a 358 cubic inch, fuel injected small block that, according to this Chevy's builder, creates healthy 10 to 1 compression. At the top of that polished and painted mill, custom, polished aluminum air tubes feed GM tuned port injection, which is seated between stainless fluid lines and a high quality Lokar throttle linkage. Below that linkage, free-breathing heads hide Comp roller rockers under polished, white-detailed valve covers. Fires get lit by fresh EZ Wiring, which jolts MSD Street Fire plug wires. Cooling comes courtesy of a Griffin aluminum radiator, which rides between a chrome puller fan, a polished expansion tank and a custom-fabricated support cover. Spent gases exit through ceramic-coated shorty headers. A Billet Specialties Tru Trac accessory drive spins an Edelbrock water pump between a polished AC compressor and polished Powermaster alternator. And the truck's glossy, body-matched engine compartment is exceptionally well done, with items like chrome dipsticks, polished hood hinges and a custom-fabricated engine cover rounding out an otherwise impressive build. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Crawling under this old school bowtie reveals a fresh double A-arm/4-link suspension that's been augmented with polyurethane bushings, tubular control arms and adjustable coil-over-shocks. Behind the small block, a 700R4 4-speed bridges the gap between a 10-bolt axle and 2,500 RPM stall converter. That familiar drivetrain pushes heavily undercoated floors on a body-matched chassis. Unisteer electronic power rack-and-pinion steering provides tracking. Quick stops are a cinch thanks to power-assisted, Aerospace Components calipers, which squeeze big drilled and slotted rotors. The aforementioned headers breathe through fabricated, crimp-free pipes, which hang welded, dual-chamber mufflers in front of polished, quad-outlet tips. At the corners of the chassis, polished Coys wheels twist 245/40ZR18 Falken Azenis in front of 315/35R20 Falken Azenis. And everything, from the truck's Milodon oil pan to its relocated fuel tank, is well planned, well executed and ready to work its magic! INTERIOR When you pop this pickup's doors, you'll find a stylish custom cockpit that's laced with plush, ultraleather surfacing. Top dead center, cushy bucket seats appear to be 90s-era GM pieces. In front of those seats, a smoothed dash hangs Classic Instruments Tach-Force gauges above Streamline controls for the truck's Vintage Air climate system. At the base of that dash, a custom console centers modern JBL audio and a short Lokar shifter between switch-operated courtesy lamps and big Directed speakers. Opposite that console, sculpted door panels hang small, billet handles in front of 1-piece power windows. Under those panels, clean carpet frames billet foot pedals and color-keyed JBL kick speakers. And in front of the driver, a tilting Ididit steering column spins a polished and half-wrapped Billet Specialties wheel. This 1965 Chevrolet C10 is a great example. There was a lot of thought put into creating the right colors and features so that is always stands out in the crowd. The first thing you notice about this truck is the paint. The metallic blue is a cool base color, and in an interesting twist, the pieces that are traditionally chrome have been painted for an updated feel. This metallic silver trim looks like a cool street-rod kind of no-nonsense approach until the sunlight hits it. Then the bumpers, grille, and rear roof portion light up with a deeper shine than chrome. There is even some nice style in the stepside body with the wood in the truck bed upgraded to grey Trex style composite decking (EXTREMELY durable) to match the trim. But if it's aggression you like, the Grand Slam kit from Classic Performance Products gives this pickup an intimidating stance, even when it's just standing still. Of course the 20-inch Boss torq-thrust wheels add a lot to this Chevy's attitude too. The interior does a great job of continuing the exterior's theme. The same electric blue runs across the dash, and is the base for the doors, but then the silver insert is the perfect complement. You'll notice it instantly as you open the door, that the panel matches up nicely against the two-tone cab. The black vinyl bench coordinates with the three-spoke sports steering wheel, and the upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo. New black/gray carpeting ties it all together, and provides extra insulation. The gauge package in front of the driver looks crisp and original to this C10, but there's also a full auxiliary setup in the center, which is a clear indication that there is something special under the hood. A great Chevy 350 cubic-inch small block is powering this pickup. These motors are ideal because there are so many performance parts available for them, and this one has already been upgraded with an Edelbrock performance air cleaner, carburetor, and intake. This feeds the dual exhaust that has a sweet rumble from the Dynomax mufflers. The near bulletproof TH400 three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc brakes maximize drive-ability. Plus the low profile Sumitomo HTR tires on the lowered performance suspension gives this pickup a downright sporty feeling on the road. This truck has all the custom touches you love without losing the original spirit. It's a vintage head-turner, with excellent driving capabilities, at a value price. It has a freshly rebuilt V8 under the hood, and plenty of other upgrades to make it the perfect drive-able vintage pickup. Chevy was giving its now-legendary (and extremely highly sought after) Advance Design pickup its final send off in 1955. So, this body style (right before GM fully switched to the new Apache design), has probably become the most desirable pickup body in our showroom. Finished in a bold blue, with deep metallic elements, this one has a true classic custom appearance. You'll note the big grille up front looks a lot better than it might have originally (most were painted, not chromed) and the bed is certainly nicer than new, with finished white oak boards and stainless steel strips that add to the overall bright appearance. And when it comes to brightwork, the 15-inch American Racing Torq Thrust wheels are huge standouts. But beyond all the flash is still the fundamental greatness that comes from a vintage Chevy pickup, with a straight steel body and its trim intact. Inside is a nice blend of old and new worlds. The gray bucket seats are vastly more comfortable than anything that came out of the 50s, and the foldable center console has some handy storage, as well as a cup holder. The steering wheel is from a GMC Sierra, whose age seems to bridge the gap nicely between the late-model seats, and the vintage dashboard. More importantly, it's a much more comfortable setup than stock, and it allows for tilt steering. At first glance, this one might look like it just has an AM radio, but this is an upgraded FM receiver that allows for more modern tunes without ruining the vintage appearance. There's even the original owner's manual for the glovebox. It wouldn't be a true custom build without a great looking engine, and this one does not disappoint. You'll be proud to lift the hood at car shows and showcase the 350 cubic-inch V8. It's been upgraded with plenty of shine, including the air cleaner, finned valve covers, radiator, and hoses. But beyond just appearance, this one has been rebuilt 200 miles ago with an Edelbrock Performer intake, Holley carburetor, mild camshaft, and stainless headers. The result is an ear catching sound out of the dual exhaust, and a nice amount of pep when you need it, but this pickup is so much more. It has some nice upgrades such as a Mustang II front independent suspension, and a four-speed overdrive automatic transmission. Add in the power steering and four-wheel disc brakes, and this vintage Chevy has the potential to be as good as any daily driver out there if its new owner decided that. This one has the right amount of show and go to be the classic pickup you'll love to take out cruising almost anytime. Plus, it has all the right upgrades to make it a fine comfortable choice for a commute too. This extremely well done 1968 Chevrolet C10 has the right look, upgrades, and attitude to be a very mean machine. Black is the perfect place to start with this pickup, and it is just about as perfectly done as it could be. If there were any kind of imperfections in this laser-straight body, it wouldn't be able to hide from this deep shine. This dark paint also helps to highlight the chrome elements in the wide grille, bumpers, and the door mirrors that have been re-mounted on top of the doorframe for a nice customized touch. Of course the biggest piece of brightwork on this truck is the set of 15-inch Billet Legacy wheels, which are taller and wider in the rear for a better stance and traction. The stepside beds were originally built for a functional purpose, but over the years they've become a highly desired stylized touch. Inside this bed, the real wood from this era is always a great piece to show off. This is especially true when the lumber has been given a high gloss shine that rivals the metal locking plates. By now you might have noticed something important seems missing. During this truck's restoration, the owner did not want the gas cap stick out from the driver's door and clutter up this pickup's clean lines, it has been shaved. Thus, the filler is now behind a chrome cap in the truck bed. This nice classic custom even has a third brake light integrated to the tailgate. Inside, this pickup has been updated for more modern style and comfort. For starters, the aftermarket steering wheel provides much more chrome than the original, and the leather wrapping is a nice upgrade from stock. This smaller diameter was a no brain-er upgrade because the truck now has power steering. From behind this wheel, the driver has the comfort of a tilt column and a full set of new vintage-style VDO gauges. The gray upholstery matches the capering and custom door inserts. For everyday comfort, this C10 comes with an AM/FM/CD player as well as provisions for air conditioning. Under the hood is where this truck really sizzles. It's a 350 cubic-inch V8 that's been built to impress. Every inch of this small block Chevy was made to shine - from the aluminum heads to the pulleys to the piping. Even the wiring has been hidden so that noting gets in the way of this impressive engine. But this truck wasn't just built for show...It was also made to go eat the streets. Evidence of this is the TCI performance three-speed automatic transmission and the power brakes with discs up front. To understand how complete and clean this C10 is you can pour through the restoration receipts, but really we suggest you just stick your head under the truck. Its nearly flawless. From underneath you can check out the tough-as-nails 12-bolt rear end running a 3.73 ratio. Also, you can see this one has been upgraded to a rear adjustable airbag suspension. So you can increase the height for stance and comfortable driving, and then get low to the ground for when it's time to look mean at the car shows. This is a truck that has real aura of authority at first glance. From little subtle touches like the red bow tie emblem on the front to the unmistakable aggressive exhaust note, you wont be disappointed! People pay for quality and this one truly is. Just take one look and you can see this 1965 Chevrolet C10 has all the right custom features to attract the right kind of attention. Like a pompadour haircut, this pickup is bold, classic, and has a standout kind of cool. You want to get noticed? Then do it with a beautiful black, that's the backdrop for a full length chrome strip with a racing red stripe. Fit and finish are very good, and if this truck ever spent days out in the field or on the job site, all evidence of it has been completely erased by the build. Instead, the sheetmetal is nearly straight enough to use as a mirror, which is perfect for the sleek fleetside body. The shine of the glossy black rivals the pristine brightwork on the grille, bumpers, and the Rally wheels with cool knock-off style center caps. There's even a shine from the varnish on the real wood truck bed (plus the mirror alloy on both ends!) It's all protected for the long haul thanks to a full bed cover. Open the door and the sea of black and red continue on everything from the flame floor mats, to the door panels, to the custom vinyl bucket seats with comfortable cloth inserts. The older classic steering wheel matches perfectly, and it makes the original gauges and steel dash look like an older vintage too. While this one might have all the hallmarks of a 60s-style custom cruiser, it has been upgraded to an AM/FM/cassette stereo, so it's adaptable to play everything from Elvis to whatever passes for rock 'n' roll, or country, these days. If the interior and exterior are so boldly performance-oriented, then you better believe the engine bay delivers the power. Chevy's trusty and robust 350 cubic-inch V8 is one of the best engines for upgrades, and this one already features performance extras such as a newer Carter Quadrajet carburetor, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, and Edelbrock valve covers. The full package makes a sweet rumble out of the chrome-tipped dual exhaust. All of this might be an aggressive package, but you won't be afraid to take this cool cat cruising anytime thanks to features like the three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and the C10's comfortable trailing arm rear suspension. This Chevy makes you cool, intimidating, and awesome all at the turn of a key. Can you believe that's all available for under $25K?! This 1951 Chevrolet 3100 has left its workhorse roots behind with all sorts of great features, from a performance 383 motor, to custom suspension. It was not built to haul wood... It was built to burn rubber and turn heads. This pickup just gets cooler the longer you look at it. For example, you'd expect the matte black paint to be lackluster, but this one has a subtle shine that seems as aggressively elegant as a heavyweight boxer in a finely tailored suit. Plus, there's so much custom pinstriping that people will be hanging an inch from your fenders at every car show. This one even keeps its original iconic five-slat chrome grille, but now it looks much more menacing slammed to the ground as part of a custom suspension. The wheels are playing into this industrial chic ruse, too, with the SS rims painted to look like old-style truck steelies, and the whitewall tires are really modern Michelin rubber. But the best custom touch of all is the tailgate. The quote is not just an inspiring reason to buy this Chevy, but it will also likely remind you to enjoy the nice weekend drives to the fullest. The bright red and black interior perfectly mixes original style with modern components. Probably the best example of this is the bench seat. It doesn't look too out of place for a 1950s vehicle, but it has much more padding, and is covered in leather, to give a much more comfortable experience than the standard pickup. This was built with the driver in mind, including a Grant three-spoke steering wheel. Beyond that is a full set of Dolphin gauges, as well as a large SunPro tach mounted off the left side. But even the passengers won't go wanting, thanks to a modern AM/FM/CD stereo, and cold-blowing air conditioning. If you weren't already running to come get this pickup, what's under the hood will certainly get you (and this truck) moving. Filling out nearly every inch of this engine bay is a big 383 cubic-inch stroker motor, built by United Racing Engines. It includes performance components such as Holley 750 CFM carburetor, Edelbrock Air Gap intake, aluminum racing heads, and Crane performance camshaft. There are plenty more go-fast parts we could list, but instead, we'll just cut to the chase and tell you it has a dyno proven 486 horsepower, and 465 lb-ft of torque. Yup, this is a monster, and everyone will know it thanks to the howling of the Flowmaster dual exhaust. This beast is mated to a stout GM 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. But if you view this strictly as the ultimate hot rod truck, you're missing the full picture. Remember that this 700R4 is an overdrive gearbox, and this one rides on a more modern Chevy S10 chassis. Combine that with power steering, cruise control, and front disc brakes, and this one-off truck is a true comfortable restomod, when you want to rack up some leisure miles. This is the pickup you'd build if you had the time, but instead you can buy in for much less than it would cost to put it together by yourself. We'll even hand you the receipt book so you can prove this build was a labor of love. Don't wait, cool customs like this don't last in our showroom...call today!! 1951 Chevrolet 3100 for Sale 1951 Chevrolet 3100 for Sale Stock # 3170-CHA Charlotte Showroom 5400 West WT Harris Blvd Charlotte, NC 28269 Local/International: (704) 598-2130 Toll-Free: (866) 542-8392 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Atlanta Showroom 213 Thornton Rd Lithia Springs, GA 30122 Local/International: (678) 279-1609 Toll-Free: (877) 367-1835 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Dallas/Fort Worth Showroom 5400 Sandshell Dr Fort Worth, TX 76137 Local/International: (817) 764-8000 Toll-Free: (855) 877-2707 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM CST Sat: 9AM - 5PM CST Email: [email protected] TERMS OF SALE 1. A truck with a genuine 1930s feel like this one begs for a lazy Sunday drive, and reminds you of the serenity that a country road can provide. This pickup's exceptional condition is rare, because most from this era were purchased to be lifelong workhorses and not many survived. It does have a touch of indulgence with the chrome lights and grille from Chevrolet's AD line, but the rest of the body is much more industrial. It's a two-tone reminder of an honest day's work. In fact, its labor credentials feel so legitimate, there's a temptation to stencil your name down the side with your fictitious feed-n-seed company. We won't stop you, but please don't ruin the quality cream and black paint already on this truck. The polished wood bed looks perfect on this pickup. It's obvious that the rear has been restored somewhat recently because wood can't go untouched 85 years on this earth and continue to look this good. Still, just like the rest of the truck, the history has been respected. A nice touch is the classic trunk mounted in the bed. This allows for room to securely store gear without taking up precious interior space. Inside is a cab built for long-lasting function. The vinyl bench seat is intact and very authentic. There was a new dashboard panel engineered for 1930 that carried an array of round gauges for speed, mileage, oil, water, and power. A special innovation for this year was a new electronic gasoline gauge developed by Delco. Someone has taken amazing care to make sure all of these readouts are still working today. The four-spoke wood wheel was purely functional decades ago, but today it is beautifully artistic. The three-speed manual has a purposeful metallic feel. There is no radio, but I'm willing to bet that on every road trip you'll create a mental soundtrack of blues, jazz, and swing. If you're not into making your own music, there is one other sound that never gets old. The 194 cubic-inch straight-six motor gives off an industrial symphony of simplicity. It is a rhythmic chug that feels like being in charge of a mini locomotive as the tempo increases with the acceleration. The ride is another exercise in minimalism. Leaf springs, solid wheels, and bias ply tires are far from modern, which makes them perfect in this time capsule of a pickup. The full experience of being behind the wheel is to feel rolling history. This Chevy is special because it was built at GM's Janesville, Wisconsin factory. This is a facility that held the record as GM's oldest running factory until the assembly line went idle in 2009. Caring for this truck is like watching over a part of this story. An authentic vintage truck is a huge part of American history. There will be no speed records in this pickup, but for the right person, every day can be Sunday. And wait and see the looks and crowds that will gather. This 1963 Chevrolet C10 truck has an all-black appearance that's backed up by a monster big-block roller motor and the meanest growls we have heard in our showroom...period. There's no way anyone will mistake this fleetside Chevy pickup for a workman's ride. Where there should be chrome up front, this one stands out with its street-eating all-black appearance. The midnight paintwork still has that great car show shine that highlights all the beautiful 1960s bodylines, but this one can't hide its mean streak. The power bulge in the custom hood is a bold announcement of a 'don't mess with me' motor (more on that shortly.) This pickup does come with some great style touches such as the Custom Cab chrome b-pillars were left in place to match the door handles, side peep mirror, and alloy wheels. Plus, the rear bumper has been shaved and given new red LED taillights that stand out nicely. This truck's dark side continues on the inside with a black and gray custom interior. Late-model bucket seats provide a much better level of comfort than the original bench ever could. The driver-oriented setup means your left hand rest perfectly on the Grant three-spoke steering wheel (with power steering), and the right one is taking advantage of the B&M sport shifter. To keep informed of all conditions, there's a full set of AutoMeter gauges complimented by large Sport-Comp tach with shift light. There is a modern AM/FM/CD stereo in the dash, but you'll likely be too busy enjoying the sound from the dual exhaust that exits just behind the doors. For most trucks a 454 cubic-inch big block V8 is more than enough power, but on a pickup this wild, the motor was bored to a monstrous 468... and the power upgrade doesn't end there. This V8 has been rebuilt less than 1,800 miles ago with performance components such as an MSD ignition, high-flow air filter, Brodix valve covers, and Lunati roller camshaft. All of this and more adds up to around and estimated 500 hp pumping out of the engine bay, and it feels like it for sure. This is mated to a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission with 2,200 rpm shift stall. Such a beefy unit was needed because it's not only perfect for cruising as a regular automatic, but also this manual valve body gearbox allows you to bang through the gears on your own when it's time to go fast. From there, the power is sent to a Ford nine-inch rear end that's held in place by a three-link coilover rear suspension. The final step to making sure this Chevy is the king of the street or the dragstrip are the massive 33X19.5X15 Mickey Thompson rear tires that are built for superior grip. The rear wheel wells needed to be tubbed to fit the wide wheels, but this custom build comes with a bed cover to hide it as well as the rear-mounted fuel cell. So this all-black pickup can almost travel through the night in stealth mode...well, as long as no one pays attention to the thunderous rumble from the tailpipes. This Chevy was built for one purpose: intimidation. It has the right look to scare muscle cars off the streets and a pile of power to back it up. The acceleration is phenomenal, and we don't expect this one to stay around long in our showroom. Well, with serious V8 power and a real wood truck bed, this Chevy is the best of both worlds...and trucks of this vintage do not stay in our showroom long! This is the kind of body that draws attention from everyone. The butter-smooth burgundy paint highlights just how amazingly straight the panels are. It's the perfect complement to the custom elements like the air spoiler ribbed tailgate, streamlined rear end with integrated taillights, and shaved door handles. But those are the obvious pieces. Take a closer look, and you'll notice great little touches like how the headlights have had their chrome surround removed, and the units have been frenched. Despite all these custom touches, there still are plenty of great vintage elements. The truck bed is still made of real wood, and the iconic chrome grille is pristinely stock. In total, this is obviously one pickup that has had a lot of time and money invested in making it the right balance of the new and old worlds. Inside there is even more great custom work. There are tall bucket seats that are vastly more comfortable than the bouncy bench that came from the factory over half a century ago. Covered in a soft gray cloth with burgundy inserts, it complements the metal on this truck very nicely. The driver gets a Lecarra sports steering wheel with a bow tie Chevy emblem etched in the center. Beyond that are a set of SW gauges that offer a similar pattern to the originals, but are much clearer and cleaner. In fact, the whole dashboard has been customized to be tastefully uncluttered. But, simplified does not mean this pickup lacks great features. The matching upholstered door panels have switches to operate the power windows. A custom center console holds the air conditioning controls, and there's even an AM/FM/CD stereo located in a cool overhead console. Pop the hood for the coolest custom piece on this pickup. The 350 cubic-inch Chevy V8 includes a host of upgrades from the Edelbrock catalog, including valve covers, performance air cleaner, and intake. The whole engine bay shines in burgundy and is exceptionally tidy (when was the last time someone complemented you on the on the little things like the steel braided air conditioning tubing that plugs neatly into the firewall?). The small block is mated to a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission that connects to a stout 10-bolt rear end. This is the perfect car show companion, and evening cruise in king, especially with the lowered stance and 15-inch American Racing Torq Thrust wheels. In fact those features, plus the power steering and front disc brakes also make this truck a great all-day cruiser or daily driver. This is the kind of classic pickup that sacrifices nothing. You can be a big hit at your next event without having to leave the air-conditioned comfort of your bucket seat. It wont last so call today!! 1952 Chevrolet 3100 for Sale 1952 Chevrolet 3100 for Sale Stock # 3125-CHA Charlotte Showroom 5400 West WT Harris Blvd Charlotte, NC 28269 Local/International: (704) 598-2130 Toll-Free: (866) 542-8392 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Atlanta Showroom 213 Thornton Rd Lithia Springs, GA 30122 Local/International: (678) 279-1609 Toll-Free: (877) 367-1835 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Dallas/Fort Worth Showroom 5400 Sandshell Dr Fort Worth, TX 76137 Local/International: (817) 764-8000 Toll-Free: (855) 877-2707 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM CST Sat: 9AM - 5PM CST Email: [email protected] TERMS OF SALE 1. [email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1952 Chevrolet 3100 Frame Off Restored 3100 Pickup 216 Inline Six 3 Speed Manual Year: 1952 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Blue Mileage: 32778 Transmission type: 3 Speed Manual Engine: 216 I6 Interior color: Burgundy Vehicle Info SUMMARYFresh frame-off restorationCorrect 216 cubic inch Thriftmaster 6-cylinderCorrect Saginaw 3-speed manual transmissionEquipped with an era-correct heaterEra-correct Horizon Blue paint / Yellow pinstripesPainted wood bed16-inch steel wheels6-volt electrical system The vast majority of classic trucks that attend magazine shoots and national shows sport lists of modifications that are longer than the third volume of War and Peace. But, while those extensively customized rigs are always cool to look at, this 1952 Chevrolet 3100 manages to carry the same level of appeal without any major gimmicks. That's because, as we've stated numerous times, old school pickups are timeless slices of Americana that'll likely never go out of style. The recipient of a professional, frame-off restoration, this Chevy exhibits a level of quality that was simply unobtainable on 1940s assembly lines. Pairing a correct 216 cubic inch 6-cylinder with a correct Saginaw 3-speed and sublime Horizon Blue paint, it's sure to turn heads. And, if you're in the market for some sweet collector metal that can be driven, shown and fully enjoyed, it's exactly the ride you've been looking for! BODYWORK/TRIM Fresh out of the restoration shop, this mint Chevy has been meticulously rebuilt to preserve all the innate appeal of GM's popular Advance Design aesthetic. The truck's expressive body panels have been bathed in a rich coat of Horizon Blue 2-stage and accented with tasteful yellow pin stripes. Under that retro pigment, an incredibly straight fuselage hangs solid panels that, with the exception of a thorough massage during the aforementioned reboot, appear to have led a quiet, drama-free existence. Those massaged panels feature better-than-factory alignment and, when opened and closed, sound solid and function exceptionally well. And that functional body's combination of excellent reflections and Kansas-flat surfaces suggest many labor-intensive hours were spent exacting top-notch finish work. While its basic shape is certainly appealing, first rate detailing is what makes this pickup really pop. At the front of the truck, a Horizon Blue grille centers gray-trimmed bars between clean halogen headlights and a glossy gray bumper. Behind that grille, a Chevrolet-branded hood leads the eye to a spilt windshield, which fronts a 3-window greenhouse. At the sides of that hood, black running boards combine with chrome door handles, black mirrors and a color-keyed fuel filler to create a simple, attractive profile. At the back of those boards, a fully painted bed adds tangible credibility to a classic work truck theme. And at the back of that bed, a stamped tailgate reflects black taillights, sleeved chains and a second gray bumper. ENGINE Hoist the truck's domed hood and you'll find a 216 cubic inch inline 6-cylinder that's branded with a correct "KAA" assembly stamp. Introduced for use in large platforms, and regarded as one of the all-time great Chevrolet powerplants, the Thriftmaster is a favorite among vintage GM truck buyers because of its simple design, adequate power and excellent durability. A petite Rochester carburetor and old school air cleaner combine with a tagged Delco-Remy starter, a tagged Delco-Remy generator, a beefy radiator and 6-volt Delco-Remy electricals to keep the engine clean and functional. And items like satin fenders, a glossy horn, bold "Thriftmaster" lettering, a bright oil canister and traditional gray skin ensure the mill is very impressive to look at. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Crawling under this classy bowtie reveals a clean frame and straight floorpans that have been coated in a nice layer of Satin Black paint. Power is put to the ground through a traditional Saginaw 3-speed, which hangs a correct 591907 casting number in front of a driver-friendly rear end. Correct leaf springs and drum brakes occupy all four corners of this chassis, mixing rugged road prowess with firm and solid stops. A single-pipe exhaust system, which is wired to a large muffler, runs the whole length of the truck. And everything rolls on familiar steel wheels, which turn 6.50-16 BF Goodrich Silvertown 4-plys around blue paint, yellow pinstripes and hand- lettered Chevrolet hubcaps. INTERIOR When you pop this pickup's doors, you'll find a crisp Burgundy cockpit that's full of utilitarian charm. A vinyl bench seat complements small door panels, a tight headliner and a black floor mat. A "CHEVROLET" branded steering wheel spins around fully restored gauges. And warm heat and a retro AM radio make country drives a little more civilized. In the world of electronic fuel injection and computer diagnostics, even late model dealerships look a little uncomfortable working on pre-OBD1 cars. There are many independent mechanics and shops that may be able to help, but putting your prized classic in the hands of a stranger is a leap of faith at best. This is exactly why we created the RKM Performance Center. Being proud members of SEMA, ARMO, HRIA and the North Carolina Motorsports Association, the RKM Performance Center is a nationally recognized shop; best known for high level OEM restorations and custom builds. Comprised of ASE certified mechanics, including several Master Technicians, you can feel confident that your car is in capable hands. As fellow enthusiasts, they are passionate about cars and will treat yours with the respect it deserves. Of course, it doesn't hurt that there is a monster big block motor just waiting to be unleashed. Only the right truck can wear turquoise. It's a confidence color that draws attention with its electricity. For a color like this to be on a pickup, the body needs to be as straight as this one, because imperfections from this recent respray have no place to hide - a rare find on vehicles that were intended as workhorses. From the shiny bumpers, to the delicate trim, to the bold grille, all of this brightwork gives this C10 an upscale look. No body modifications, no cowl hood, and no questionable graphics... just a solid, straight great old pickup, in a great color combination. But there is one piece really hints at another purpose. The five-spoke American Racing sport wheels with aggressive Cooper tires suggest that light paint was needed to hide this Chevy's tough side. Inside some of this truck's performance nature starts to show a bit more. Beyond the classic sports steering wheel that looks fresh out of a Camaro SS, the plastic gauge panel has been replaced with a new aluminum unit. It houses the full AutoMeter gauge package that includes a large speedometer and tachometer, as well as readouts for the oil, water, and battery. Even if this is a driver's pickup, the passengers get a recently restored comfortable black vinyl bench seat, and everyone can listen to plenty of modern tunes on the AM/FM/CD stereo. But the feature you really want to know about is the one that makes the nice rumble when you turn the key. Yes...that's a 454 cubic-inch V8 under the hood. If big block power wasn't already enough, this one was rebuilt with plenty of upgrades such as a performance air cleaner, Edelbrock intake, chrome valve covers, and Hooker headers. It feeds a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers, so you know that no one mistakes this for a small block motor as you go thundering by in the left lane. In fact, when this pickup is not eating muscle cars on Saturday nights, this C10 is a really good all-day cruiser. It has an automatic transmission, power steering, power front disc brakes, and trailing arm suspension in the rear. Quick, stylish, and a tad incognito this Chevy is one great pickup. And we never even had to mention how this affordable classic has all the right tools to still go to work after its recent restoration.
