Cars in between, meaning finished pieces that can be driven and enjoyed immediately, are surprisingly hard to find. That's why this nicely built 1937 Chevrolet Master Deluxe sedan is so appealing; with a big back seat, there's no excuse not to take the whole family along for the ride. There's something about late-1930s GM cars that just ideally lend themselves to customization, and the original details like that slash coming off the back of the front fenders and extending into the doors is a great example of the factory doing the customizer's work for him. In fact, all the bodywork is expertly done, and it's clear that someone spent a lot of time and effort getting it to its current condition. The body is all genuine Chevrolet steel, and everything lines up nicely, including those big pontoon fenders. The paint is modern urethane, so it's durable and brilliant, perfect for a car that's going to see actual road duty, and even in black this sucker looks awesome. Finally, all the original trim is still intact in one form or another, from the bright grille to the simple rear end with original taillights and bumper. The interior is often the last place a hot rod builder finishes his work, and it's usually a low priority once the car is on the road. However, in this trick Chevy, the interior has been fully finished in tan leather wrapped around what appear to be the original bench seats. The door panels have been custom made to match the seats, and feature original woodgrained moldings and door hardware. Custom billet inserts have been made to house elegant VDO white-faced gauges, and the original clock is still in the glove box lid. Controls for the aftermarket A/C system, as well as the ductwork, have been housed in the dash itself so it looks like they've always been there and a Corvette steering wheel actually looks just about right here. In back, there's a lot of stretch-out space and the trunk Is neatly finished with a full-sized spare stashed under its own special shelf. Your traveling partner in this '37 is a built 350 cubic inch Chevy V8, which is as timeless as it is reliable, not to mention powerful; this car probably has about four times as much power now as it did when it was new. Although the car was built to drive, there is lots of bright stuff under the hood, including a matched set of chrome valve covers and air cleaner. The engine turns an equally reliable TH350 3-speed automatic, the front suspension is a Mustang II independent setup with disc brakes, and it includes power rack-and-pinion steering so it drives like a modern car. The custom dual exhaust system burbles along at cruising speeds thanks to highway-friendly gears in the 10-bolt rear end and it sits just right, not too low but with a bit of an attitude. It rides on a set of simple painted Rally wheels wearing 195/65/15 front and 205/65/15 rear blackwall radials that give it a nice rake. Go ahead and look at all the rods for sale. Note how many ads include the words "just needs X to be finished." A lot, right? This '37 Chevy needs nothing to hit the road in style this summer. Forget spending years in the garage, get out on the road now, and take the kids with you. The big two have been duking it out since the mid-20s, and if your tastes run to the pre-war era, you owe it to yourself to take a good look at this gorgeous 1940 Chevrolet Master Deluxe coupe. Tastefully built with a stout 396 and a lot of luxury and convenience items, this is the perfect rod for the guy who likes to drive...fast. The bright blue paint seems to glow in the sunlight and on the curvaceous coupe's body it looks quite appealing, highlighting the shape without hiding the details. The body hasn't been chopped, although there are lots of little tricks to make it interesting up close. The Master Deluxe is already one of the most handsome cars of the era, with tidy proportions, cool faired-in headlights, and a timeless profile, but details like the one-piece hood, shaved door handles, and a Vee'd windshield all make it look smooth without erasing its personality. Much of the chrome has either been painted to match the body or shaved entirely, so it has a monochromatic look that works rather well, and you'll note the smooth grille is similar to the stocker but was custom made. You couldn't ask for a better place to spend some time than the race-grade interior. The roll cage, harnesses, and racing buckets suggest race car, but the fully upholstered door panels, heavy-duty subwoofer enclosures, and lots of sound-deadening materials say otherwise. There's also A/C, power windows, a tilt steering column, and a thumping AM/FM/CD/iPod stereo with a touch-screen navigation system with speakers scattered throughout the passenger compartment. The dash was smoothed and reshaped, and now uses Dakota Digital gauges for a cool effect against the blue paint. Things like the A/C vents and controls are nicely integrated for a very clean look and all the controls are located on a center stack that looks almost like it was put there by the factory. Obviously the car has been tubbed and a custom fuel cell and a pair of Optima batteries have been stashed in the center of the trunk. It's quite nicely finished with black carpets and contrasting blue piping, just like the rest of the interior, with all the working parts hidden under a custom enclosure. Cruising is easy thanks to the 396 cubic inch V8 under the hood. Making big horsepower and torque, it moves the slick coupe with authority that the original inline-six could never manage. With an Edelbrock Twisted Torquer intake manifold and a 4-barrel carburetor, it's a reliable powerplant that's also a party on the road. It's got a very cool high-tech look with custom made valve covers, satin gray detail work, and a matching blue block, all of which showcase the attention to detail found throughout the car. The stout big block is linked to a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission, so it's an effortless cruiser made for long-distance sprints. Out back there's a narrowed Ford 9-inch rear with 4.10 gears on Competition Engineering ladder bars, while the front suspension is a Camaro subframe with power steering and 4-wheel disc brakes. Classic Weld Racing Rod Lite wheels wear spinners and 25x7.5R15 front and 31x18.5-15 rear Hoosier tires. This awesome Chevy coupe is a great show and go cruiser that'll make you smile every time you drive it. 1939 Chevrolet Master DeluxeHi, I am selling my vintage car. I bought the car about 2 years ago and have had my enjoymentwith it and now looking for a Touring Car 1910-1932 or Phaeton for my son and I to work on togther and cruise the parades. This Chevy I was told by the previous owner was restored about 10 years ago so the body has some spots that are either cracking or minor paint chips or dings. The car is a great looking 5 footer and draws attention whenever it is seen. The body had some custom work, like shaved door handles and trunk and other aread that may have had chrome. The windshield wiper area was shaved and looks very cool. The car rarely sees rain but if it does, the previous owner and I use good old Rain x and with it being flat and straight glass, its pretty easy to drive in the rain. The tires are in good shape and the wheels are an alloy. The car I was told is lowered and has a very cool stance that way. The engine is a Buick 350 and I was told it was from a middle 70's car. The engine runs good, I take it out on the freeways and it runs nicely and sounds nicely with what i believe are Flowmaster dual exhaust. Has had a new alluminum radiator installed last year $1100 and a new key ignition switch recently this year. Starts easily. The engine I believe is stock but has a nice rumble so may have a cam set up for that or it might be the exhaust that gives it that cool rumble sound. The automatic transmission works great and no problems with it. The car I was told has a Mustang II front suspension and power steering and power brakes. A Chrsyler/ Dodge or Plymouth steering column. All the lights work as they should. The car has airconditioning to keep you cool. The interior im not sure what car they were out of but look presentable and no rips in seats or panels. The interior is in a nice navy blue velour like material. The headliner has no rips and is in good condition. This car is a driver. Nice white leather wrapped steerign wheel. The gauges are all made by Dolphin. The gauges all work. The front drivers and passenger windows are power and the rear passenger doors are manual. The passenger rear fender has a dent from suicide door touched fender from someone opneing it to hard. The drivers front fender has large paint chip and two small dings in it. I will update closer photo shots of the dings soon. The car door handles were shaved to have the smooth look, so the doors open with a remote control door popper style. The front doors were converted to suicide doors and the rear doors are suicide as well. The trunk was shaved, the licence plate was mounted into the trunk with a third light. The hood opens split style which is cool looking. The undercarraige looks clean but again its a driver so not spotless like a show car would. The trunk has a secret door latch open handle. Now a list of the areas that could use attention or just left as is and still enjoyed. The windshield has no cracks nor does the back window. The drivers side vent window is cracked but still works when I use it. The drivers side window has a 3 inch like crack in it. The passenger side rear door glass has cracks in it from a stone hit it out on the freeway. The power windows go down fine, they come up slow and sometimes need help being pulled up. The rear windows roll down fine. The door poppers tend to stick at times, so could use attention to improve operation of them. The CD radio does not work and never really used it much so not sure if its loose wire or fuse or something. The door alignments could be adjusted better but I drive it as is. When my car sits out in my driveway on nice days, I get people asking to rent this car for Weddings so I have did a few here and there and it presents well in photos. This car is list AS-IS and NO WARRENTIES. The winning bidder must deposit via PAY PAL $1000 deposit within 48 hours of auction end. The balance must be paid in full via Pay Pal or cash in hand before the car leaves my home. My car will be available for you to look at if you choose to only when I am available at home to show you. The winning bidder will be responsible for all shipping and handling costs that pertain to this car. I will be here to help you or the shipper you hire to assit loading the car. Any questions please ask! No scammers and I will do the best I can to answer your questions. I am more of a driver not a restorer or car builder, so my knowledge about street rods are limited. Do not bother asking me what the reserve is!! I am open to possible trades for old limousines, touring cars, phaetons, convertibles. Thank you and happy bidding. On Jun-13-15 at 08:09:33 PDT, seller added the following information: The 5500 Miles listed in the ad are not the original miles. When the new Dolphin dash gauges were installed by previous owner, it resets as 0 miles, so the car now shows 5500 miles but its not original 5500 miles. Also for my reserve is set very low for a 39 Chevy. It may have been restored 10 years ago, but there is no way you could build this car for my BUY IT NOW price! Mustang 2 suspension, disc brakes, rearend I think is a Ford rear end but not sure. All the custom work done, the front dual suicide doors look sweet and expensive to build that way. My price is very fair and this car I just cruised the highways yesterday and all eyes are in AWE! Sharp car but again its 76 years old and not perfect. A few dings and dents but nothing that couldnt be fixed and some of the dings or dents u cannot see unless you are looking for them. The pearl white finish just sets this car off from your typical white paint jobs. BID AND WIN or BUY IT NOW and own a piece of Chevrolet History! I love my car dont get me wrong, now that my son is old enough and wants to learn about cars, i am looking for old touring cars, convertibles so I could we do a father and son product car togther. He loves the old antique cars so thats what I am hoping to buy or, I am into myself old limousines so my son and I could rent out for weddings and he could ride with me. We have did a lot of weddings with this car, so getting a vintage limousine would be another great idea for my son and I to do. Any questions please ask and feel free if you want to schedule to come out to see the car. Thanks.

With classic Art-Deco styling, even the affordable 1937 Chevrolets look expensive and this handsome coupe's restoration suggests a lot of time and money invested in the result. Wearing its original code 215 Gazelle Brown, this tidy little coupe has an understated elegant look that surely was a hit in 1937. The styling was rounded and smooth, taking advantage of new advances in aerodynamics without losing the basic identity. The car's most distinctive feature is the slashing reveal coming off the front fenders, a line unique to the 1937 Chevrolets and not seen anywhere else. Fit and finish are quite good, with a great period-correct gloss that does without metallic or a hard shine to create a warmth you don't see on today's cars. The rear-mounted spare adds length and makes the car look sporty and running boards were still very much a part of the design, with these wearing replacement rubber covers that look correct. A jaunty orang pinstripe highlights the belt molding and the bright chrome bumpers hug the contours of the body, giving the car an upscale look. Lovely little running lights on the fenders are almost futuristic, flanking that distinctive Chevrolet grille. The interior is typical 1930s practical, with a comfortable bench seat covered in period fabric that's neither flashy nor cheap. It was clearly restored a long time ago but the materials are holding up well and it has a warm, inviting look today. The door panels feature original hardware and woodgrained garnish moldings and the headliner overhead fits well with no sags or tears. Simple auxiliary gauges flank a semi-circular speedometer, with the secondary controls arrayed in the center of the dash. Aftermarket turn signals have been added, which are a very good idea in today's traffic, but the remainder of the systems and controls are very much as they were in 1937. Radios and heaters were still optional, and this one does indeed carry an optional heater/defroster system which keeps the little coupe quite toasty on cool evenings. Unfortunately, the folks in the nicely appointed green leatherette rumble seat will have to deal with the elements, but it's so much fun to ride back there that they probably won't even notice. Chevy's bulletproof "Stovebolt" six provides power, and like its siblings it remains smooth and easy to drive. Despite decades of bolt-on speed parts being available, this one remains almost entirely stock, including the manifolds and single-barrel downdraft carburetor. It starts easily on its original 6-volt electrical system and idles so smoothly you can barely feel it running. Correct Chevrolet Gray engine paint makes it look right under the hood, although it's no longer detailed for show. The transmission is a 3-speed manual with synchromesh, so if you can drive a modern car, this one won't take much practice at all. Brakes are drums all around, but with hydraulic actuation (new in 1937), they're surprisingly effective. A single exhaust system gives it a great 6-cylinder purr and the tidy undercarriage shows evidence of years of happy touring. Painted "artillery" wheels are treated to shiny hubcaps and wide whites, which really dress up the little coupe. An attractive car that's a joy to drive, this little Chevy hasn't lost a step in the last 80 years.
