Yes, you read that right, this one has a 540 cubic inch V8 Merlin motor, making 725 hp, and it has all the components you need to back it up. This Sting Ray gives very few hints at its modification within. Instead it just looks like an exceptionally nice restored C2 'Vette. This satisfying appearance starts with a professional respray of the factory Marlboro Maroon. It looks bright and deep like a modern clearcoat paint should. The trim is complete, which is something you love to see because these final-year C2s had some very nice intricate details everything from the thin stylized bumpers, to the Corvette name in cursive on the rear. It has the correct singer hood, with black accents, but you already know the 427 advertised on the hood is just a nice tribute to the original engine. Only if you were really looking a long time at this one, you might pick up its beastly nature in a few of the other details. For example, the 3" side exhaust pipes are far from factory, but they're masked by the correct protection plates. And the 17-inch rally wheels are larger than the originals, but they are dressed in the classic Rally wheel style. An excellent touch! The interior is also about appearing original with subtle upgrades. It starts with factory saddle vinyl bucket seats that have been upgraded to a modern leather, with correct-appearing A82 headrests. Other new features include a smaller diameter steering wheel, and an upgraded stereo. But everything has been tastefully integrated with the factory upgrades, like the power windows and air conditioning. In fact, one of the only few pieces you'll be sure is not from the '60s is the welcomed upgrade to three-point seatbelts. Under the hood is where this Corvette shares its secret with the world. The 540 cubic-inch V8 is larger and bolder than any big block that came from the factory. This monster motor started with the wizards at Merlin, and it includes upgrades such as triple deuce Holley carburetors (on Willys spacers), aluminum intake, Pro Topline heads, long-tube headers, custom-built oil pan, and a BeCool radiator. There's plenty more performance features, but we don't have the space to list them. We'll be happy to go over all the details when you call, but just know for now that this one boldly advertises its 725 hp on the triangle air cleaner. So you can be certain the moment you turn the key that the exhaust note will rumble with enough authority to let everyone know this Sting Ray has something special under the hood. All this added power needs to be reinforced all the way to the road, and that's why this also has been upgraded to a Tremec five-speed manual, with an SFI scatter shield, sending power to a Positraction rear end. Even thought the C2 Corvette already has a superb fully independent suspension, this one has been further upgraded with tubular upper front A-arms, and Penske rear shocks with new torsion bars, and upgraded transverse leaf spring by Vette Brakes and Products Inc. This package is completed with power steering, four wheel disc brakes, and Michelin Pilot Sport tires to give you a classic car with superior road-handling. This is such an amazing, and thorough build, that you will need to take this coupe to plenty of car shows. After all, if you don't, the only thing most people will see of this one-of-a-kind Corvette are the taillights. Don't miss out on this amazing build, call today!! 1967 Chevrolet Corvette for Sale 1967 Chevrolet Corvette for Sale Stock # 3280-CHA Charlotte Showroom 5400 West WT Harris Blvd Charlotte, NC 28269 Local/International: (704) 598-2130 Toll-Free: (866) 542-8392 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Atlanta Showroom 213 Thornton Rd Lithia Springs, GA 30122 Local/International: (678) 279-1609 Toll-Free: (877) 367-1835 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Dallas/Fort Worth Showroom 5400 Sandshell Dr Fort Worth, TX 76137 Local/International: (817) 764-8000 Toll-Free: (855) 877-2707 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM CST Sat: 9AM - 5PM CST Email: [email protected] Tampa Showroom 4610 Pet Lane Lutz, FL 33559 Local/International: (813) 501-1630 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] TERMS OF SALE Vehicle may be sold by Streetside Classic Cars prior to the end of the auction. For MoPar guys, owning a Hemi 'Cuda is likened to a lifetime achievement award. Most Ford buffs would saw an arm off to find a real-deal Boss 429. And when it comes to the GM camp, incredible Corvettes like this rare Split-Window keep getting hotter and hotter. While classic Corvette culture may have started with big block cars, their small block siblings are beginning to command serious respect. And this blue chip Sting Ray, stunning from its correct silver paint all the way to its fuel injected 327/4-speed drivetrain, is at the very top of the value curve. If you're in the market for a killer C2 that looks good, drives great and can stand its ground on any show field, they don't get much better than this! BODYWORK/TRIM The beneficiary of a 2-year restoration that was completed in late 2008, this slick Corvette features a glossy, correct appearance that highlights solid, attractive bodywork. Take one look down the sides of the car's sinuous body and it becomes very obvious that great care was taken to ensure every panel is aligned to better-than-new condition. Step closer to that body's mirror-like paint and check out its straight and ripple-free surfaces, which are a product of both clean OEM fiberglass and high quality replacement pieces. Grab the pivotal pieces of that well-adjusted resin and experience the kind of excellent fit and finish that's right at home reflecting a summertime car show. Then step back to admire one very well done classic that was built to cruise. ENGINE Tilt the car's lightweight hood and you'll find a 327 cubic inch small block that, in addition to displaying a familiar 3782870 casting number and correct "RF" suffix code, has been stamped with a matching partial VIN. Holding the title of "World's most powerful, naturally aspirated single-cam V8" until the debut of the 2001 Corvette Z06, Chevrolet's impressive L84 utilized wide-bore casting, a forged steel crank, forged pistons and a hot cam to turn stout 11 to 1 compression into an advertised 360 horsepower. At the top of the spry mill, a big, AC-branded air tube funnels wind in to a vintage Rochester injection system that's threaded onto a small AC fuel filter and clean stainless fluid lines. Below that era-correct juice box, a clean Winters intake perfectly complements finned Corvette valve covers. At the back of that intake, chrome-cased ignition shoots spark past correct exhaust manifolds via chrome-sleeved wires. At the front of those manifolds, a Harrison-branded radiator circulates coolant through pliable hoses and authentic tower clamps. And details like a rebuilt alternator, a Harrison overflow tank and a reproduction Delco battery ensure this Chevy runs every bit as good as it looks. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Peer under this well-planted coupe and you'll find a Satin Black chassis that's straight, solid and ready to pound the pavement. The L84 sends power to a date-correct Borg Warner 4-speed, which spins a 1966 GM axle. In front of that transmission, a double A-arm suspension employs an authentic-feeling manual steering rack. Opposite that rack, a transverse leaf suspension does an excellent job of increasing grip. In the middle of the car's bare floors, aluminized, true-dual exhaust pipes shuttle spent gases through fresh, rear mounted mufflers. At the corners of the car's suspension, traditional drum brakes mix firm stops with solid handling. And all that fully sorted hardware rolls on handsome knock-off-style wheels, which spin 6.70-15 US Royal Safety 100 whitewalls. INTERIOR Slip in to this Vette's correct interior and settle on one of its comfortable, Dark Blue buckets. Those seats are as original, with correct lap belts framing stainless trimmed bracketry. From the driver's perch, stock gauges bleed onto their bordering panels in a march toward a center-mount clock, a Delco AM/FM radio and an aluminum-trimmed glove box. Below that clock, like-new carpet floats heavy-duty sills and color-keyed floor mats at the sides of a factory console that's fitted with a small armrest and chrome shifter. Opposite that console, stainless-trimmed door panels hang opposing armrests between traditional handles and stylish accents. And in front of the driver, a satin-spoke steering wheel laps a classy cross-flag emblem. And if you're a true Corvette purist, you're going to love looking under the hood of this ultra-low miles 'Vette. Maroon is the perfect color for the right sort of vintage 'Vette buyer. It keeps the same attention grabbing attitude of the red cars that the Corvette community loves, but the darker finish gives it a level of sophistication that makes this Stingray easy to park next to European classics, too. Many enthusiasts prefer the clean, unadorned look of the early Stingray design, with its chrome shark-nosed front and chopped-off Kamm-back. And when the fiberglass looks this good, people really pick up on the sleek lines that make the C3 an icon. This car's fastidious care throughout its life is most evident inside, where black interior remains in excellent condition. There are no split seams, no scuffs, and certainly no sun damage, despite the open air of the convertible top. The black carpets are similarly excellent, and the door panels match the seats with their factory fresh appearance. Other goodies include factory air conditioning, a tilt/telescope steering column, the original AM/FM radio, and the full gauge package neatly centered in the dash. Overhead, there's a black convertible top that fits right, and the car includes a nice removable hardtop, too, for those days when you feel like cruising in a coupe. Power comes from the original, matching-numbers 350 cubic inch V8, which delivers an advertised 270 horsepower. Not only does that provide this Stingray with plenty of muscle to rocket around with authority, but also its four-speed manual transmission will make sure you can squeeze out every last bit of horsepower when you need it. Plus, the dual exhaust will really let you enjoy the great sounds that happen when you stay in the powerband. But there's more to this motor than just brute force. This car has less than 23,500 miles on the odometer, and you can really see this in the engine bay. Many of the original stickers are still attached to the motor and accessories. It's that nice kind of touch that makes people linger a bit longer at car shows. Then again, this car might not even make it to any competitions because you'll be too busy enjoying the backroads thanks to power steering, four wheel disc brakes, and grippy Goodyear Eagle GT tires on the 15-inch rally wheels. This is a beautiful C3 convertible that has averaged less than 535 miles a year in its lifetime (it even comes with title documentation to back this up.) This one is for someone ready to get attention from the Corvette circles. Obviously that was a joke because most of us would trade body parts for a vintage Vette. But this one is a standout even in a crowd of standouts... and for a lot less money. This convertible has an unmistakable body that makes it look mean. The racing strips, numbers, and naked wheels announce that this Corvette came to compete. It's this kind of prowess that makes the car attract far more attention than the perfectly restored 1960 Corvettes and this one is half the price! But there is a more practical side too. This Vette has not gone on the complete racer's diet. So it still has the mountings for the included hard top, and the trunk is intact to make sure this classic can still go on all the road trips you want. Regardless of how you use this car, it still has all the great 1st generation Corvette hallmarks such as two-tone paint, fender lines, and toothy chrome grille. In fact, not only was this the last model year for that grille, but this was also the last time the Corvette would have the sculpted rear end with subtle tailfins. Inside is one of the most honest cars that has spent 55 years on this earth. The black on the dashboard, door cards, and vinyl seats complement the racing stripes on this roadster. Just like the outside, there is the right amount of chrome touches to be a nice reminder of post-WWII American style. The instrument cluster is original and as intended from the factory, the interiors of these Corvettes fit drivers like a glove. The bucket seats are armchair comfortable without being too bouncy like the sedans of this era. The three-spoke steering wheel is thin but knobby for a great grip and easy control without the intrusion of power steering. All of this go-fast appearance needs to be backed up with some real power, right? This Corvette doesn't disappoint with a tuned 327 cubic inch V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Plus, there are extra performance goodies like Hooker headers, a GM aluminum intake manifold, and a Holley double pump carburetor for constant fuel delivery under hard acceleration. The result is rated at 365 hp a 26% jump in power over the hottest 283 cubic inch production motors offered in the 1960 Corvette, and even a bit more than the 327 V8s in the final versions of this generation. All of this extra grunt is put to the road through a 4.11 rear end with GM's Positraction. It gives this solid-axel car a sure grip and quick take off quick from the line. Best of all, despite looking like a racetrack veteran, this classic has never been entered in competition from what we can tell. So it hasn't lived a hard life on the track and instead has just been spending the last decade or so running around the Carolina hills. This Corvette is now at a crossroads. It can be ideal for the street or the road course. No matter which way you go, this is a classic roadster you can jump in today, turn the key, and go for a cool cruise. It won't last so call today! 1960 Chevrolet Corvette for Sale 1960 Chevrolet Corvette for Sale Stock # 2921-CHA Charlotte Showroom 5400 West WT Harris Blvd Charlotte, NC 28269 Local/International: (704) 598-2130 Toll-Free: (866) 542-8392 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Atlanta Showroom 213 Thornton Rd Lithia Springs, GA 30122 Local/International: (678) 279-1609 Toll-Free: (877) 367-1835 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Dallas/Fort Worth Showroom 5400 Sandshell Dr Fort Worth, TX 76137 Local/International: (817) 764-8000 Toll-Free: (855) 877-2707 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM CST Sat: 9AM - 5PM CST Email: [email protected] Tampa Showroom 4610 Pet Lane Lutz, FL 33559 Local/International: (813) 501-1630 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] TERMS OF SALE Vehicle may be sold by Streetside Classic Cars prior to the end of the auction. That's because, regardless of year, every C1 shares a connection to the car that started a now legendary brand. To this very day, 1953-62 Corvettes are highly desirable collectables that continue to be some of the most sought after cars on the planet. And this pristine roadster, the beneficiary of a fresh body-off restoration, is a perfect example of why. With a hot 283/4-speed drivetrain and stunning red on red aesthetics, it's an excellent example of Golden Age Americana. And, if you're looking for a unique classic that you can drive, show off and watch appreciate, it's the fully sorted head turner you've been patiently waiting for! BODYWORK/TRIM Stripped all the way down to glass, this contoured roadster's curvaceous body was massaged back to life during a thorough, body-off restoration. Like most C1s, the car was originally assembled at GM's new-for-1954 St. Louis manufacturing facility. And, like most restored C1s, its fit and finish presents much better now than it did 57 years ago. In fact, judging by the looks of this Chevy's smooth fuselage, there's no evidence it has ever seen any kind of catastrophic damage. And today, layered in vivid Signet Red 2-stage, the car rolls as one spectacular classic that's superbly detailed. 1958 to 1962 was a banner era for the Corvette, as Chevrolet wanted to prove its new flagship could run with the best cars in the world while retaining classic style that would eventually bear an American icon. At the front of this polished and refinished drop-top, a toothy grille rides between chrome-trimmed headlights, a translucent header roundel and chrome-trimmed parking lamps. In front of that grille, chrome nose guards reflect intricate bumpers, which bend around chrome-trimmed fenders that are detailed with small cross-flags and finned cove inserts. Between those fenders, a '58-exclusive hood leads the eye to polished wipers, classy glass and a fresh White roof that's supplemented by a factory hardtop. At the back of that hood, traditional door handles float behind a stylish driver's mirror. And at the back of those doors, a flowing decklid hangs a second Corvette roundel and '58-exclusive trunk spears between chrome bumpers, small reflectors and flush, chrome-trimmed taillights. ENGINE Tilt this roadster's lightweight hood and you'll find a correct, 283 cubic inch Chevrolet V8 that hangs a high performance (CU) assembly stamp in front of a familiar 3737739 casting number and September (J) 15th (15) 1957 (7) casting date. GM's ultimate carbureted option for the 1958 model year, and factory-rated at 270 horsepower, this tough small block features the proven square bore/solid lifter set-up that put Chevrolet muscle cars on the map. At the top of the mill, reliable Carter carburetors, which breathe through a thin, louvered air cleaner, funnel life in to a clean Winters intake. At the sides of that intake, cast iron heads hang finned Corvette valve covers over fully restored exhaust manifolds. Behind those manifolds, a chrome-capped ignition system shoots fire through stainless sleeved plug wires. And in front of those wires, a beefy radiator circulates coolant through reproduction GM hoses and tight squeeze clamps. In addition to its killer powerplant, this Corvette offers a thoroughly detailed engine bay that's complete with stainless fluid lines, an AC fuel bowl, a Delco-Remy generator and a reproduction Delco battery. And the car's first rate aesthetics, which mix smooth, Satin Black framing with a bright, Chevy Orange core, create great texture and excellent contrast. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Flip this C1 upside down and you'll find a sturdy, road-ready X-frame that's bolted to bare, correctly over-sprayed floor tubs. Behind the motor, a '61 Borg Warner T10 4-speed twists torque through stout, 3.70 gears. At the ends of the floors, a fully restored double A-arm front and solid axle rear suspension has been completely returned to factory specifications. At the corners of the car, standard drum brakes complement good handling characteristics with solid and confident stops. Exhaust is managed by big, true-dual pipes, which run from a U-shaped crossover to factory replacement mufflers. Power meets the pavement through standard steelies, which spin fresh 6.70-15 BF Goodrich Silvertown whitewalls around traditional stainless covers. And everything, from this Corvette's manual steering rack to its leak-free fuel tank, is fully sorted and ready to log miles. INTERIOR In keeping with this roadster's high performance theme, interior outfitting remains minimal. High quality restoration pieces provide long-term durability without sacrificing good looks. The car's textured seats, which are equipped with simple lap belts, still have years of life left in them. There's stain-free carpet that still features a clean, fibrous sheen. Front and center, stylish, retro gauges, a Wonder Bar radio and a small chrome mirror look great decorating Chevrolet's famous dual-cowl dash. At the middle of the floor, a petite chrome shifter is as handsome as it is stylish. In front of the driver, a speed-drilled steering wheel spins a glossy red rim around a polished cross-flag horn button. At the sides of the passengers, scuff-free door panels center perfectly placed armrests in pristine stainless trim. And, behind the retracted top, a fully restored trunk shows virtually no signs of usage. A highly desirable drop-top that wraps a fresh, body-off restoration around a hot V8 and tough 4-speed, this slick Corvette has a little something for everyone. And what's better: it's exactly the kind of classic that provides endless fun on the highway and celebrity status in the parking lot. Where else can you get such an excellent combination of style, performance and investment potential? Don't miss this opportunity to experience a stellar piece of American history! And while the trend may have started with big block cars, their small block siblings are beginning to command equally serious money. As with all Corvettes, the key to value is authenticity. And, from its original 327 cubic inch L79 V8 to its correct Maroon over Saddle color combination, this well restored Sting Ray stays true to its roots in almost every way. If you're in the market for an impressive C2 that looks good, drives great and can hold it own on the show field, they don't get much better than this! BODYWORK/TRIM Bolted together at GM's storied St. Louis manufacturing facility in the summer of 1967, this slick Vette is the kind of classic that you can look at and virtually sense top-notch caretaking. Recently, the car benefitted from a detailed, ground-up restoration that began with its solid fuselage being lovingly sanded. Once that profile was super smooth, doors and lids were adjusted to better-than-factory fit. And finally, correct GM code 988 Marlboro Maroon base was fitted with a Saddle top, sealed in glossy clear and buffed to the kind of stellar shine that ardently accentuates Bill Mitchell's razor-sharp style lines. ENGINE Tilt this Corvette's lightweight hood and you'll find an original, 327 cubic inch L79 V8 that hangs a familiar 3892657 casting number behind a correct "HT" suffix stamp and matching partial VIN. Introduced as a formidable companion for street prowling Sting Rays, this high performance small block twists factory-stated 10 to 1 compression into 350 factory-rated horses. At the top of the spry mill, a polished air cleaner funnels wind into a correct Holley carburetor that's threaded onto fresh stainless fuel lines. Below that juice box, a familiar Winters intake perfectly complements finned Corvette valve covers. At the back of that intake, chrome-cased ignition shoots spark past correct exhaust manifolds via chrome-sleeved plug wires. And at the front of those manifolds, a Harrison-branded radiator cycles coolant through pliable GM hoses and authentic tower clamps. Whoever performed the restoration on this Corvette did an excellent job of creating an attractive, reliable engine bay that's every bit as detailed as the rest of the car. Bright Chevy Orange paint covers the block from its clean oil pan all the way to its polished oil filler and, as always, looks great against GM's Satin Black bay. As expected, correct textures and decals are present and accounted for. And details like a rebuilt Delco alternator, a correct Harrison overflow tank and a big Delco battery ensure this Chevy runs every bit as good as it looks. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Flip this Vette upside down and you'll find a solid, no-hit chassis that's in good shape, and today, looks much nicer than when it rolled off the showroom floor. Behind the 327, a rugged M21 Muncie makes good use of a correct posi-traction axle. At the ends of the car, a fully sorted double A-arm front and independent rear suspension is completely detailed down to its fresh shocks, correct springs and standard manual steering. Above that rebuilt suspension, solid floor tubs, which look factory fresh in every way, ride on a straight, Satin Black frame. At the corners of those floors, standard disc brakes mix good handling characteristics with quick and solid stops. At the edges of those brakes, clean Chevy Rally wheels twist 205/75R15 Cooper Trendsetter SE whitewalls around dent-free beauty rings and short center caps. And everything, from this Corvette's stainless fluid lines to its chambered, shielded and polished side pipes, is fully sorted and ready to roll! INTERIOR Open this Chevy's tossable doors and you'll find a correct Saddle interior that's a nice assimilation of clean and weather-free components. Seating comes courtesy of firm vinyl thrones that are framed in straight stainless trim. From the driver's perch, stock gauges bleed onto their bordering panels in a march toward an aluminum-trimmed glove box, a modern Antique Automobile Radio and a small chrome shifter. Below that shifter, requisite mats and predictable stainless sills protect like-new carpet. Above those sills, stainless-trimmed door panels hang traditional armrests among small handles, crank windows and stylish chrome accents. In front of the driver, a satin-spoke steering wheel laps a brilliant cross-flag emblem. And behind the passengers, a carpeted storage compartment boasts just enough room for trophies and a display board. America's favorite sports car is finally commanding the respect it deserves. And with awesome classics like this clean Sting Ray mixing highly correct restorations with red carpet street appeal, it's not hard to see why. A perfect blend of vintage virtues and everyday drivability, this handsome C2 is a head-turning exercise in old school charm and motor city swagger. If you're looking for that rare trifecta of 'low maintenance', 'fun to own' and 'great investment potential', this mean, green Chevy is your best bet! Here's a detailed breakdown of the car's original tank sticker: EXPECTED DATE OF PRODUCTION: September 30th, 1966 MODEL: 19437 Corvette Sport Coupe PAINT: 02983AA Goodwood Green OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT:- Black leather trim- Turbojet V8 that produces 425 horsepower- Transistor ignition- Posi-traction axle that's equipped with 3.70 gears- 4-speed close-ratio manual transmission- AM/FM pushbutton radio- Tinted glass- Power windows- Headrests- Shoulder harnesses- Power brakes- Dual side-exit exhaust- 15-inch wheels Logging very few miles since a complete, ground-up reboot, this striking coupe is a decidedly clean cruiser. During its in-depth restoration, the car's solid, fiberglass body was thoroughly massaged to correct most of the typical waves and ripples that came standard from GM's St. Louis manufacturing facility. With those cosmetic semantics complete, a finishing phase took the form of aggressive block sanding. And finally, everything was layered in correct Goodwood Green base, sealed in glossy clear and buffed to a fantastic, wet-look shine. With this Sting Ray, the idea was to create a super nice classic that can be driven without worry. Whether that means an excellent original piece was refinished to like-new condition, or fresh reproduction items were installed, the car's caretakers certainly ensured its appearance is both accurate and impressive. At the front of this old school street queen, bullet-style marker lights, show worthy bumpers and a red, white and black cross-flag emblem cage a stainless egg crate grille. Behind that grille, brazen "427" emblems adorn a striped, '67-exclusive stinger hood. At the sides of that hood, simple heat extractors ride between traditional door handles, a classy bowtie mirror, and chambered and shielded side pipes. Opposite those pipes, straight stainless trim complements a clean combination of clear and tinted glass. And behind that glass, familiar Corvette tail lamps illuminate a chrome-trimmed fuel filler and correct "Corvette STING RAY" emblem above a chrome-trimmed tag bracket and two more show worthy bumpers. It's hard not to notice a second generation Corvette, especially in a spectacular coat of Goodwood Green. And this coupe's original VIN stamped 427 cubic inch Chevrolet V8 will ensure the car is both seen AND heard! At the top of the Chevy Orange mill, a trio of Holley carburetors rides between a chrome, correctly-decaled air cleaner and bright, stainless fluid lines. Below those carburetors, a familiar Winters intake funnels a perfect air/fuel mixture into tough, cast iron heads, which wear traditional steel valve covers. When the juice hits the cylinders, reliable, chrome-capped ignition sparks fresh, stainless-sleeved wires while a stock cam and rotating assembly push spent gases through restored exhaust manifolds. Cooling for that fire is provided by a beefy radiator, which hangs in front of a big, belt-driven fan. And overall, this Chevy's tidy engine compartment is exceptionally well-done; framing a modern alternator, fresh brake booster and correct GM hoses in bright decals and clean, Satin Black fenders. Not surprisingly, the bottom of this pavement-pounding Vette is solid, clean and ready to roll. Behind the awesome big block, a tough Muncie 4-speed spins a stout posi-traction differential around beefy 3.70 gears. Turns come courtesy of modern power steering. A full assortment of disc brakes provides solid, confident stops. Impressive, true-dual exhaust funnels spent gases through correctly chambered side pipes. The car's solid, Satin Black floors perfectly complement a straight, Satin Black chassis. All that reliable hardware rolls on correct bolt-ons, which spin 7.75-15 BF Goodrich Silvertown redlines around 'black bowtie' center caps. And details like stainless fluid lines, fresh shocks and a familiar stainless fuel tank ensure years of carefree cruising. Open this C2's tossable doors and you'll find a correct Black interior that appears to have been completely replaced during the car's extensive rebirth. Seating comes courtesy of firm leather thrones, which are anchored between fresh seatbelts, bright stainless trim and a small console that's centered on a fully functional shifter. From the driver's perch, a traditional clock and Delco AM/FM radio ride between rebuilt gauges and an aluminum-trimmed glove box. Below that dash, like-new carpet balances color-keyed floor mats between fresh stainless sills. Above those sills, chrome-trimmed door panels hang monochromatic accents between small armrests, traditional handles and correct power windows. In front of the driver, a satin-spoked steering wheel spins around a brilliant cross-flag emblem. And behind the passengers, a fully carpeted storage compartment boasts enough room for two suitcases and a bag of detailing supplies. The sale of this fully sorted coupe includes an original tank sticker, a copy of that tank sticker and an NCRS Shipping Report. If you're looking for a unique classic that mixes unmatched style with instant fun, this Corvette is your kind of car. It's cool from every angle. It plays to a level of nostalgia that everyone can appreciate. And, whether you're setting up at a show or just spending Saturday afternoon on the town, it's guaranteed to be the center of attention! Nearly every Corvette ever created has been a highly unique offering that pushed the limits of style and performance. Think about it; this is a marque that followed lightweight fiberglass roadsters with standard V8 power and potent big block street slayers... It followed Lotus-tuned ZR-1s with an exclusive, modern Grand Sport and proper revival of the track-focused Z06... Then it followed supercharged 'blue devils' with a brutal 427 Convertible a third, world-beating Stingray and the insane Z06/Z07! I mean, where else can you find world-class American performance that's loud, proud and ready to lay waste to pretty much any Old World exotic? That purity is exactly why classics like this fully documented, Triple Crown-winning Sting Ray are so collectible. Pairing a professional restoration and numbers-matching, big block drivetrain with top honors from Bloomington, NCRS and Chevy/Vettefest, this coupe is a correct, blue chip showstopper that'll hold its own next to the finest metal on the planet! BODYWORK/TRIM Unlike other sports cars, which shall remain nameless, all Corvettes are NOT red. And that's a very good thing because if they were, we'd be missing out on sublime colors like this slick Sting Ray's correct Lynndale Blue 2-stage. That glossy hue is especially smooth thanks to a first-rate restoration, which teased the car's appearance to something very close to what it originally presented at Syracuse, New York's Salina Motors. Naturally, there's a full round of factory bolt-ons, like Soft Ray glass and a requisite Stinger Hood, which have been either fully restored or accurately reproduced. And today, this coupe rolls as one top-notch C2 that's perfectly worthy of exceptional design, world beating performance and a distinguished spot in the coveted Triple Crown Registry. ENGINE What's better than a correctly restored Corvette that's won multiple national awards? A correctly restored, numbers-matching Corvette that's won multiple national awards! Tilt the car's hood and you'll find an original L36 big block that frames a correct "IL" suffix stamp and matching partial VIN in a '67-exclusive 3904351 casting number and January (A) 23rd (23), 1967 (7) casting date. At the top of the Chevy Orange 427, a familiar Holley carburetor rides between a chrome, correctly decaled air cleaner and bright stainless fluid lines. Below that carburetor, a stock Chevrolet intake funnels a perfect air/fuel mixture in to tough, cast iron heads, which wear traditional steel valve covers. When the juice hits the cylinders, reliable, chrome-capped ignition sparks fresh, stainless-sleeved wires while a stock cam and rotating assembly push spent gases through factory exhaust manifolds. Cooling for that fire is provided by a beefy radiator, which hangs in front of pliable GM hoses and reproduction tower clamps. And, aesthetically, this Chevy's tidy engine compartment is exceptionally well done, framing a correct alternator, rebuilt master cylinder and reproduction Delco battery in bright decals, bright inspection marks and clean, Satin Black fenders. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Not surprisingly, someone spent a lot of time carefully restoring the bottom of this exclusive Vette. Behind the awesome big block, a familiar Muncie 4-speed sports a correct 3885010 casting number, a Muncie (P) assembled on February (B) 28th (28), 1967 (7) build stamp and a matching partial VIN. That tough transmission twists a stout, posi-traction rear end that's fitted with highway-friendly gears. Turns come courtesy of an old school manual steering rack. Four disc brakes provide solid, confident stops. Factory replacement exhaust funnels spent gases through baritone turbo mufflers. Solid, unvarnished floors perfectly complement a straight, Satin Black chassis. And all that reliable hardware rolls on conservative Rally Wheels that spin 7.75-15 Firestone Deluxe Champion redlines around stainless trim rings and polished center caps. INTERIOR Crack this C2's cockpit and you'll find a correct Dark Blue interior that appears to have been completely replaced during the car's extensive rebirth. Seating comes courtesy of correct leather thrones, which are anchored between fresh seatbelts, bright stainless trim and a small console that's centered on a fully functional shifter. From the driver's perch, a traditional clock and Delco AM/FM radio ride between rebuilt gauges and an aluminum-trimmed glove box. Below that dash, like-new carpet balances translucent floor mats between fresh stainless sills. Above those sills, chrome-trimmed door panels hang monochromatic accents between small armrests and traditional handles. In front of the driver, a satin-spoke steering wheel laps a brilliant cross-flag emblem. And behind the passengers, a fully carpeted storage compartment provides a reasonable amount of cargo space. And while we love ANY Corvette no matter what the owner's intentions, we can definitely understand that mindset. For purists, the only way to fully appreciate a vintage car is to experience it as it was originally designed. And that's why we're happy to see classics like this numbers-matching C3 continue to roll through our showroom. Born in 1969, decked in stunning Fathom Green 2-stage and still churning an original 427, this first class drop-top is the kind of car that you simply buy, maintain and build equity in. So, if you're one of those cross-flag purists who likes to live the vintage car life to its fullest, this freshly restored Vette is the undiluted classic you've been dreaming of! BODYWORK/TRIM Of the many reasons to love the third generation of America's sports car, style is certainly high on the list. As one of the most aggressive designs to ever breach GM Tech Center doors, the C3 set the standard for the official Corvette shape. Take a close look at the body of this striking Stingray and you'll find aesthetics that are completely accurate to how the car left St. Louis' storied assembly lines. Thanks to a body-off restoration that wrapped in the Spring of 2015, that clean fuselage features even gaps which suggest a sharp eye toward precision. Correct metallic paint reflects a glossy finish under subdued Saddle vinyl and an array of polished brightwork. And, while many collectors think Rally Red is the quintessential Corvette pigment, we think you'll agree that nothing comes close to a well-done Fathom roadster! ENGINE Beneath the sculpted hood you'll find the car's original "3963512" branded L36 (LM) V8, which was assembled in Flint, Michigan (F) on October (10) 3rd, (03) 1969 and stamped with a matching partial VIN. Straight from the factory, this beefy big block utilized high performance internals to twist stout 10.25 to 1 compression into an even 390 horsepower! At the peak of the pavement-scorching mill, a polished and decaled air cleaner swirls wind into a familiar Winters intake by way of a reliable Quadrajet carburetor. At the sides of that intake, correct, cast iron heads hang stamped and polished valve covers over cast iron exhaust manifolds. And at the back of those heads, a chrome-capped ignition system sequences spark through sleeved plug wires. When fired, the infamous 427 rumbles like an old school stoplight slayer. Its ancillary components are top notch in every way, with GM-branded hoses, a rust-free master cylinder and a correct Harrison expansion tank accompanying reproduction tower clamps, a rebuilt alternator and a fresh aluminum radiator. And bright Chevy Orange engine skin is seated in a clean, Satin Black frame. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Peer under this low-slung roadster and you'll find a factory chassis that's straight, solid and ready for its close-up. The car's hot 427 twists torque through an original Muncie 4-speed, which hangs a Muncie (P) M21 (B) assembled on June (H) 19th, (19) 1969 (9) build stamp between a correct 3925660 casting number and matching partial VIN. Beneath that drivetrain, a fully rebuilt suspension combines optional power steering with tight turns and increased grip. At the corners of the car, 4-wheel power disc brakes ensure quick, drama-free stops. Aluminized down-pipes shuttle spent gases through new side pipes. And all that fully sorted hardware rolls on handsome Rally Wheels, which spin fresh 215/70R15 BF Goodrich Silvertown Radial redlines around dent-free trim rings and turbine center caps. INTERIOR Slip in to this Stingray's correct Saddle interior and settle on one of its firm vinyl buckets. A familiar dash hangs an array of black-trimmed telemetry above a correct Delco AM/FM radio. At the base of that dash, a tapered console frames a factory shifter. Below that console, translucent floor mats protect like-new carpet. At the edges of that carpet, weather-free door panels highlight simple stainless hardware. In front of the driver, a fixed steering column spins a classy Rally Wheel. And behind the passengers, a small storage compartment reserves enough room for a pair of car show chairs. HISTORICAL INFORMATION There's really only one way to ensure the authenticity of this roadster's fresh restoration. Here's a quick look at the car's VIN and Trim Tag. With a strong color combination, an original drivetrain and great aesthetics, this C3 is not only a fun car to own, but also a great example of the brand's evolution. Whether you're a seasoned Chevy collector or a potential first-time buyer, don't miss the chance to park this slick Stingray in your garage! This pristine low mileage car keeps close to factory specs, right down to the numbers matching V8, but a few well-placed upgrades makes this a superior sports coupe. Corvette owners know how to keep their cars well maintained, so it's no surprise how pure the factory shade of Classic White still looks on this car. The exceptionally low mileage (averaging less than 1,300 miles per year) means you know this one has spent a life as a cherished toy and not a daily driver. These late C3 cars are gaining a nice following, as people begin to appreciate the features like the distinct spoiler, and clean chrome-free body. This helps highlight accessory items on this one like the bright exhaust tips and optional aluminum wheels. The fantastic red interior looks exceptionally fresh because it was recently redone back to factory standards. This includes the leather seats and carpeting just to make sure this one feels as premium as possible. In fact, like any good Corvette, this one comes loaded with power windows, power locks, cruise control, tilt/telescope wheel, electric rear defogger, and provisions for air conditioning. The AM/FM stereo is so original it still plays 8-tracks... but just so you can have more modern tunes, a CD changer was discreetly installed. For the driver, there's a wood and chrome three-spoke steering wheel. Beyond that is the large speedometer and tachometer in front, and a full gauge package prominently to the side. And you can show this fantastic interior to the world as you go cruising around with the T-tops off. The 350 cubic-inch L48 motor is the one installed by Chevrolet in 1979, but you can tell from one look at the engine bay that this V8 has received a few key upgrades. It has been given new performance parts that includes a Holley 750 CFM four-barrel carburetor, aluminum intake, roller rockers, Chevrolet performance valve covers, electronic ignition, and headers. This V8 is now substantially more powerful than when it left the factory in '79, and the sound is significantly sweeter out of the new dual exhaust with performance X-pipe construction. More than just a recent engine upgrade, the suspension, tires, brakes have all been freshly redone. This is the kind of Corvette you can have confidence in driving fast, but it also is a nice car for the long trips, too. That's thanks to features like the TH350 three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and four-wheel disc brakes. All Corvettes are fun, but this one takes everything that's great about Chevy's personal sports car and amps up the testosterone, all at a bargain price. There's a lot of documentation including the original dealer invoice, Factory buildsheet, bill of sale, and restoration receipts. So it's a great-looking deal on a coupe with all of the vital pieces that Corvette people look for. After all, it has a modified V8 engine, four-speed manual, and that great wind-in-your-hair convertible experience. But the fact that it's nicely painted in the best attention-grabbing factory color is probably why you just can't get this one out of your mind. 1973 was the year of the purist C3 Corvette. It was the only time Chevrolet offered the body-colored nose with the chrome bumperettes, and legendary designer Larry Shinoda had said that this was his intentions for the C3 from the beginning (it just took them five years to get there.) There's just something about the factory yellow color on these convertibles that makes them amazing. It gives off a look-at-me attitude, but since it's this car's original correct shade, it's not being overly brazen. But the real reason it looks so good is because the recent respray was done with a meticulous hand. And, this bold from the factory appearance is carried over the whole car from the large exhaust ports to the shiny Rally wheels. It's no surprise that this factory yellow car was also ordered with the perfect complementary interior color, black. It's one of the best hues for the inside because it allows the silver accents to pop on everything from the door panels, to the three-spoke steering wheel. It also looks especially nice since the pristine bucket seats have been upgraded to leather. This one also has some nice features such as an upgraded AM/FM/cassette stereo, and provisions for air conditioning. But like any true Corvette, it's a driver's car, so you get the dual pod speedometer/tachometer in front of you, with a full gauge package prominently to the side. When the weather turns bad, it can all be buttoned up with a matching black vinyl convertible top. Open the hood, and this one is dressed to impress. Chrome accessories with tidy yellow wires command some serious attention. But beneath this great appearance is the serious substance of a Chevy 350 cubic-inch small block. These are infinitely upgradeable, and this one already has been given an Edelbrock carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and performance headers. Best of all, you can take full advantage of the motor by rowing through the Muncie M20 four-speed manual transmission. The full powertrain package makes a great rumble out of the Flowmaster dual exhaust. This is a power steering car, with front power disc brakes, and grippy Goodyear Eagle GT II tires. So, it's more than just powerful, this Corvette is a comfortable cruiser. In a rapidly appreciating market you're looking at an affordable Corvette that comes well documented with its restoration receipts and owner's manual. But you don't even have to let your rational side decide this one. Just look at the amazing paint, and you'll know this is the C3 for you.
