Hi, you are viewing a Show Quality 1961 Chevrolet Corvair Monza 900 Coupe with a 4-Speed. This is probably one of the nicest Corvairs in the country. The last owner Completely Restored this car for his wife and then she rarely drove it. You honestly could not restore a Corvair to the Quality Level of this car for more than twice the amount that I am selling this car for. The reason that very few Corvairs get restored to this level is because they don't command the huge money that old restored Corvettes, Camaros, etc... do when brought to this condition level, so in turn, very few Corvairs are in this high quality state. I think that is slowly changing though, especially considering how few are this nice. And they are so fun to drive too, this car reminds me very much of one of my old Porsche 911's, only better in my opinion (and why old 911's are 10 times the price I will never understand, of course most 911's are kept in nicer shape, like this Corvair is) . Both 911's and Corvairs are Air Cooled Flat Sixes and Rear Engine and Handle Great. Most people don't realize how low these cars are for handling and how well built these are. The doors open and close with such a quality sound and feel. This car is an absolute pleasure to drive and is extremely tight and solid with no rattles and handles superbly and absorbs the bumps beautifully. This Corvair really needs to be driven to truly appreciate it. The last owner got this car from a man who had a fully restored and just rebuilt 1962 Corvair that got into an accident and was ruined just after getting it on the road after the restoration. He then bought THIS Rust-Free Arizona 1961 Corvair and planned on switching the 1962 just rebuilt drivetrain with a Four-Speed into THIS 1961 automatic car and then completely restoring it. That owner never got to it, so he sold both cars to the man I bought this car from and he then switched the drivetrains and finished the car with a Complete Restoration. And what a job he did, WOW, is about all you can say. You can also tell by the incredible Original Rust-Free Body and Underbody how great this car was to begin with. He even installed a few 1962 trim pieces that look better than the 1961 pieces (like the better looking taillight bezels). The Body and Paint of this Corvair is truly nicer than when these Corvairs were new in 1961. All of the Chrome and Stainless Trim is truly exceptional. The cost of just all that alone is a lot of money. This car is also shines Mechanically. It runs, shifts, drives, steers, stops, just Beautifully. All of the electricals, speedometer, and gauges work (fuel gauge acts strange sometimes) and it has an added CD Stereo (with Great Sounding Speakers) for even more enjoyment cruising. The condition of the Interior is Absolutely Gorgeous and Must Be Seen To Be Believed. The back seat also folds down and that whole fold-down area is also fully restored. This car has a Great Original Color Combination too. This Corvair also has a new Clarks Corvair Performance Exhaust System and 4 Brand New Tires. Overall, this car is pretty much like having a new 1961 back in 1961 again, with literally everything being restored or new, except that the paint and body didnt look quite this good in 1961 ! When I take this car out for a drive EVERYBODY that sees it just walks up and says, WOW, I have never seen a Corvair in that condition ! This car gets More Attention than most of my Much More Expensive Collector Cars. This really is a LOT of Collector Car for the money ! I am selling a couple of cars out of my collection for a real-state transaction and I appreciate you reading this. If you have any questions feel free to ask and please ask any you have before making an offer, and PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE 100% serious offers only , Thank You !!
