Fitted with a 207ci, Two-Barrel Straight Six Cylinder and a three speed manual transmission, this Classic Coupe is a blast to drive! Chevrolet was justified in building cars with such style in 1936. America had begun to recover from the worst of the crippling Great Depression, and the automaker would sell 930,250 cars that year, besting its previous top performance, in 1929, by more than 150,000 units and marking the seventh time in ten years that the bow-tie brand outsold the once-untouchable Ford. Despite all the cars that were sold in that very good year, it's difficult today to find a 1936 Chevy or any domestic car from the 1930s, for that matter that hasn't been heavily hot-rodded. The 207-cubic-inch straight six sounds quiet, while also being somewhat agricultural. It produces only 79 hp yet is torquey and responsive. It's mated to a three-speed manual transmission actuated by a two-foot-long lever. First gear is only to start the Master Deluxe coupe's 3000 pounds moving, and the vague shift action is rewarding when you find your gear. Miles are believed to be actual, oil change decals in doors reflect the miles and prior family stated they are actual 73,278. The interior also appears to be completely original. This truck has been in storage since 1991 with fresh fuel and battery it starts, idles, runs and drives. The engine sounds strong and does not knock but it has low compression on one cylinder and smokes from that side. We believe it is a stuck ring or bad ring. We have never seen or heard of another truck with all of these options. 100% original paint, no damage history, excellent frame and chassis with some rust in the typical areas, lower rear cab corners and lower front fenders. Miles are believed to be actual, oil change decals in doors reflect the miles and prior family stated they are actual 73,278. The interior also appears to be completely original. This truck has been in storage since 1991 with fresh fuel and battery it starts, idles, runs and drives. The engine sounds strong and does not knock but it has low compression on one cylinder and smokes from that side. We believe it is a stuck ring or bad ring.
