1968 CHEVELLE SS This is an extremely nice 1968 Chevelle true SS car. The engine is a 396 (Casting #3935440 dated Feb, 1968). I am not able to tell if it is the original engine or not because someone has scratched the deck pad making it impossible to read. All I can make out is "8B" in the vin portion of the stamp and what appears to be either a C or G as the last letter in the suffix code. Since this is a 68 block and there is no suffix code that ends in a "C" for 1968, it would most conceivably be a "G". With that said, the only 396 suffix code that ends in "G" is an "EG" code which would make this a 375hp engine. I can not state with certainty that this is the case but I am including photos of what can be seen on the deck pad so you can draw your own conclusion. The car has a Muncie M20 4-speed transmission and 3.07:1 Rear. The paint and body are excellent, lazer straight. All guages, lights, etc work correctly. The car has a slight cam and sounds excellent. The car appears to have been well cared for throughout its life. A perfect driver that will definitely win at local car shows. Thank you for looking! Up for your consideration is my 1951 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery. This is a very solid survivor that will turn heads, get compliments, thumbs ups, and comments were every you may go. This is not a "show car" although it presents it self well. This Sedan Delivery starts on the first try, drives straight, and will stop on a dime. It has never let me down, even when on 200 mile trips. All chrome and stainless is very straight and in very good condition. No rust, peeling or dents. The grill has 2 small dinks that can be repaired. There are a few chips in the paint. One on the hood, one on the left front fender, one on the right rear roof panel and 3 on the driver's door edge. I can not get these to show up in the pictures with the exception of the hood which has the largest chip. There is a small rust spot on the driver's door, and 2 spots on the middle of the rear door. The paint is 20 years old and is laquer. Still holds a great shine. The under carriage has no rust through on the frame or body mounts. There is surface rust only along with road grime and dirt. No oil leaks at this time. If I had a lift this would/could all be cleaned. Floor panels are solid and original. The engine was rebuilt 9800 miles ago. I have pictures of the tear down. Recent valve adjust and tune-up. 3-speed transmission shifts well and the differential has no issues. All fluids were recently changed through out. If it moves it was oiled or greased. Electrical works as it should. New cloth harness in 1994. Every thing electrical works. When I say every thing I mean every thing! Even the deluxe radio and the cigarette lighter work. No issues here. Glass is all good and in excellent condition as are the channels and rubbers. Tires are bias ply Firestone Champions. Did you notice the matching spare, jack, and tire iron in the pictures? The interior is relatively new and is a very close match to the color of the dash and the inside of the rear door. Headliner is new and lighter in color. Inside roof was properly insulated too before the headliner was installed. All of the accessories on this great Sedan Delivery are original to the vehicle with the exception of the headlight visors, the radiator over flow tank, and the 3 mirrors. Every thing else is original OEM, even the vent wing "Breezies". The were made in Pawhuska, Oklahoma and are stamped accordingly. The clock is the 29 hour type. Wind it up and it works. The visor is original and not a reproduction. I have the original owners manual too. It is not a reproduction. I could write a book here about this vehicle and have tried to keep it short.
