Former police detective vehicle. I have all the original service records from the police department. I have upgraded to LED tail lights and Head lights with angel eyes halos. I have replaced muffler and exhaust pipe, brakes and rotors and tires,spark plugs and wires, and radiator and transmission solenoids and new transmission fluid. I havent had any problems with this car. I drives perfect and smooth. There are a few drips of oil under where i park it but it seems to be a very small drip. The interior is fairly clean no strange smells. there is a few holes in the back of the driver and passenger seats and side of door pillars where a prisoner cage was once insstalled for police use. There is an aftermarket center console that is plastic.(see pics). There is a scratch on dashboard near sterero where police radio equipment was placed(see Pics). VIN: 105676W131725Introduced in 1960, Chevrolet designed a revolutionary new car. The Corvair was powered by an air-cooled horizontal six-cylinder engine made almost entirely out of aluminum. The engine was mounted in the rear of the car, driving the rear wheels through a compact automatic transaxle. Suspension was independent at all four wheels. There was no conventional frame, it was the first Unibody built by Fisher Body. The styling was unconventional for Detroit, subtle and elegant, with no tailfins or chrome grille. Time magazine put the Corvair on the cover and Motor Trend named the Corvair as the 1960 "Car of the Year”.All mechanicals have been redone by one of the best Corvair restorers in the country. Cosmetically, the body was stripped to bare metal, having been a California car, only the slightest corrosion was found, these areas were treated with new welded-in metal. The suspension and braking systems have also been fully restored. The interior is super in every way. During the restoration, the dash was uprated to a Corsa dash which has additional gauges. The engine compartment extremely clean and detailed nicely and presents well. Recently this Corvair received and new convertible top.This Monza remains is superb condition throughout having approximately 5,000 miles since restoration. The engine was mounted in the rear of the car, driving the rear wheels through a compact automatic transaxle. Suspension was independent at all four wheels. There was no conventional frame, it was the first Unibody built by Fisher Body. The styling was unconventional for Detroit, subtle and elegant, with no tailfins or chrome grille.
