This 100% numbers matching 1971 Chevelle SS LS5 was born at the Arlington Texas assembly plant on the second week of December 1971. It still has its original unmolested 365 HP 454 engine along with its Turbo 400 automatic transmission and its 3:31 ratio 12 bolt rear. This Chevelle SS is adorned with Factory Air Conditioning, Soft Ray Tinted glass, Sport Stripes, Power Steering, AM/FM Stereo with factory 8 Track Tape Player and the Z15 SS package. The car was then shipped to Slayton Chevrolet in Fort Lauderdale Florida. This car has had one Stunning high dollar base coat clear coat paint job on its 100% rust free body panels in its original Nevada Silver color. This SS also has the extremely rare bench seat with the column shifter. Another RARE thing about this SS is that it has the square stripes instead of the rounded edge ones. All 454 optioned SS Chevelles that were manufactured at the Arington Texas plant until the second week of January 1972 had the square stripes. A few 454 SS's also came out of the Kansas city plant that also had the square stripes. This can be verified at web site chevellestuff In 1971 the 454 engine was ONLY available with the Z15 SS option. Again you can verify this at chevellestuff. So, this is in fact a genuine SS. The 454 engine code is stamped into the protect-O-plate. Please take note of the original 1972/73 Florida state inspection sticker still attached to the windshield. I have the protect-O-plate, owners manual, original inventory key tag and the window sticker.
