1980 Corvette A beautiful car that turns heads every time I take it for a drive! Dependable, looks good, sounds good! This is a super nice 1980 Corvette that has 65,700+ original miles. The car is never driven in the rain and is stored during the winter months. The car is very dependable -- I would drive the car anywhere. If you are looking for a "Numbers Matching" car, you'll have to pass on this one, it has a new GM Crate Engine. Main features:350 ci V8 GM Crate Engine -- 290 HP -- just broken-in with 2500 miles on it -- Engine casting #10066036Rebuilt stock automatic transmission -- done at the same time the engine was replaced65,700+ Original miles on the carNew belts & hoses8mm spark plug wire setCustom metallic silver / rose paint jobAll 4 tires are new -- BF Goodrich -- 10" wide on stock rims -- replaced at the same time as the engine and transmission workNew brakesNew exhaust system -- Dual glass packs -- sounds very, very nice!Air conditioning upgraded to R-134AWood burl gauge cluster surroundsCustom wood & chrome steering wheelEuropean air horn system -- Dual compressors & 4 trumpetsCustom louvers for the rear windowBattery cutoff switch2 custom car covers includedChiltons service manual & Chevy factory assembly manual2 sets of keys and a clear title in handThings that are not perfect: The following items fall into the category of things that are not perfect -- and may, or may not be of concern to you. In the interest of Full Disclosure, I am listing everything that may \ or may not -- need attention:I never got around to installing new T-Top and door weather seals. I never drove the car unless it was clear and sunny out, so these things kept getting put to the end of my things to do list. the T-Tops function just fine, however to stops drips when washing the car, I put a bead of clear silicone around the T-Tops. I would just leave the T-Tops on until you get around to replacing the gasket seals so it won't drip when washing the car. You wouldn't know the silicone bead was there if I didn't point it out to you. Two custom carry bags for the T-Tops are includedThe inside \ forward door pulls are in need of reinforcing. This was pointed out to me when I bought the car, and this item also ended up at the tail end of my to-do list. The doors open and close just fine -- I just don't use the forward door pulls. I was told that this is a very common problem with these cars and that there is some kind of upgrade it available from Corvette speciality places on-lineThe clock on the dash is the only instrument not working -- This is a very common experience with older Corvettes The cigarette lighter is missing (the part you would hold in your hand)The AM\FM\Cassette radio works, but the antenna needs a new $35 motor to raise up the antenna when the radio is turned onThe car has a custom metallic silver \ rose paint job which is very nice. The car is primarily silver, but the touch of rose can give the car a metallic copper or metallic gold tint when the light changes. The effect is quite beautiful -- however if you need to have a silver only car that looks the same all the time, please move on. The car is the color as described. The custom steering wheel does not have a horn button in the center. The horn button is located on the dashThe door to body gaps are not equal in width. I have been told the door hinges need to be re-positioned or replacedWhen the windows are rolled all the way down, they rattle when opening and closing the doors. The service manuals indicate there are anti-rattle parts that can be replaced to address this issueThe windows go up and down just fine (left one a little slower than the right) but the door switches for this were removed by the previous owner. The window motors are activated by the stock switches in the center consoleThe doors lock and unlock with the key. The door switches for the electric door locks were also removed by the previous ownerThat is everything I can think of. None of which effects how the car drives. If some, or all of these items are important to you, I'm sure they are all fix-able (by you not me). I am selling this car at a loss because my wife is eager to get a RV Camper of some sort. At this price I do not feel compelled to solve every little thing on the list. Please remember, you are getting a Corvette with a new crate engine, rebuilt trans, new tires and brakes (these items have approximately 2500 miles on them -- which a nice amount for just breaking them in. You can drive this anywhere in the country without concern! I am located in Fairfield, Iowa 52556. The nearest airport is Cedar Rapids Iowa. The nearest train stations are Ottumwa and Mt. Pleasant Iowa. And the trailways bus stops right here in Fairfield. IMPORTANT NOTICE #1 Please email me any questions, and I will try to answer as quickly as possible. I also encourage serious parties to come and inspect the car in person prior to purchase. IMPORTANT NOTICE #2 A $200 non-refundable PayPal deposit is required at time of purchase. The balance shall be paid in CASH when picking up the car. Cash means cash -- not a cashiers check, bank money order, bank check, personal check, or a bag of magic beans. I have tried to provide information on everything I can think of. Other sellers may choose not to disclose every little thing for fear of losing a sale. I would rather you know everything ahead of time -- leaving no surprises after the purchase. That's how I would like to be treated, so that is how I am presenting this vehicle.
