In 1968 while in another state he burned two pistons and had those repaired, the only major engine work the car has ever had. In 1986 the car was repainted back to the original factory color. At some time in its history the car has had the cars seat inserted with a velour type pleated fabric. This Marine, now in his late 70’s has taken excellent care of this car and obviously garaged it and has driven it very little in recent years. In fact, he told me that he had it tuned up about 25 years ago, the last time he had any work other than servicing done on the car. Recently, his daughter told her Marine dad that she wished he would go ahead and sell the car so that she wouldn’t have to mess with it later on. This is your chance to own a true One Owner very original and well cared for true American classic. . We have included photos of the cars most obvious flaws, including rust blisters under the paint in the door corners, and, the rear braces in front of both rear wheel are rusted. We believe this El Camino to have its original 396 c.i. 350 h.p. V8 engine, 400 Transmission and 12 bolt differential. The carburetor was replaced years ago and so that is the one item that is not original. This vehicle was also color changed to a very dark metallic green which now how primered spots as you can see in the photos. This was a very poor quality paint refinish. The body and underside of the vehicle look very solid. The only rust through we see on the body are the left front corner of the drivers door and the adjoining fender. There is also a crack in the lead filling the body seam on the left pillar panel behind the drivers door. The El Camino drivers out good as you can see in the video. We believe this El Camino to have its original 396 c.i. 350 h.p. V8 engine, 400 Transmission and 12 bolt differential. The carburetor was replaced years ago and so that is the one item that is not original. This vehicle was also color changed to a very dark metallic green which now how primered spots as you can see in the photos. This was a very poor quality paint refinish. The body and underside of the vehicle look very solid. The only rust through we see on the body are the left front corner of the drivers door and the adjoining fender. There is also a crack in the lead filling the body seam on the left pillar panel behind the drivers door. The El Camino drivers out good as you can see in the video. It does need a tune up but the powertrain seems to be in good basic mechanical condition. Ready To Buy? Many people are not comfortable with buying a vehicle on this format and we understand that.
