First, it's a big old ragtop, and nothing says you've arrived like a '70s convertible. Then there's the smooth 350 cubic inch V8, a ton of power options, and a great triple-white color combination. Yeah, this sucker was built to cruise. White-on-white-on-white is a fantastic color combination for a big ragtop, and few wear it better than a mid-70s GM ragtop. Our photos don't show it off like the sunlight does, but you can clearly see that the bodywork is straight and clean, and as a product of the '70s, finding a rust-free example is paramount. We believe that the paint is original, and with that in mind it's in fantastic shape. Sure, there are a few nicks and scratches, but for an untouched survivor, it's in very good overall condition. Chevrolet didn't get hung up with excessive trim but it does wear fender skirts so it has a clean, chiseled look that makes it seem almost sporty, which was surely the intention. Chevrolet's simple grille is present in a token way up front but it's not terribly distinctive, and that long hood almost has its own horizon when viewed from the driver's seat. Nice chrome bumpers, sport mirrors, and full-width taillights add interest, and all the original badges are still in place so there's no mistaking this car for anything else. Chevrolet nailed it with the interior, which features wide bench seats that are the ultimate in '70s cool. With room for six, this full-size cruiser doesn't skimp on luxury and delivers that unbeatable combination of cushy ride and vast interior space that makes it the ultimate road trip ride. Wood paneling on the dash is fairly convincing, and the layout gives the driver fingertip access to things like the A/C and original radio, while a newer AM/FM/CD stereo head unit is mounted under the dash. Other options include power windows and locks and a tilt steering column, all of which make this car a top-of-the-line piece from GM's bread-and-butter division. Handsome blue carpets and matching dash board add some welcome contrast, and the white seats are much cooler on a sunny day than a darker color. The white convertible top is in excellent condition and includes a glass rear window and the big trunk is ready for your next road trip with a full-sized spare and tidy original mats. Chevy's 350 cubic inch V8 really needs no introduction. Renowned for its torque production, it gives the Caprice Classic an effortless style that eats up the miles without breaking a sweat and pulls the luxurious convertible around with a great V8 soundtrack. In good original condition with bright Chevy Orange engine enamel and a lot of correct components, the engine bay offers additional evidence that this car has led a good life and has had a good amount of money invested in it recently. It's backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic, and on a car this big, power steering and brakes were, of course, standard equipment. The unparalleled ride quality is something that needs to be experienced to be believed, and it soaks up bumps like an ocean liner. It's quite clean underneath and still uses what appears to be the original catalytic converter. Classic Rally wheels are fitted with 235/75/15 Toyo whitewalls, which look exactly right. We'll never see full-sized luxury cars like this, and certainly not convertibles. With tons of originality, personality, and luxury, this Chevy is still a first-class way to travel. Recently serviced and ready to have fun, this end-of-the-line ragtop is the heavy cruiser you've been looking for. Repainted perhaps 25 years ago in its original dark blue livery, this big luxury drop-top has that old-school land yacht look. It was purchased new by the current owner's grandmother and has remained in the family since it was new, so there's a lot of history behind it. It's also lived its entire life in sunny, warm Atlanta, so the bodywork is quite straight, unlike the cars from up north. The paint is about what you'd expect from a car this age, with a good shine and a few signs of use, and it's exactly right for a car that you're going to drive regularly. The Caprice's styling was clean and uncluttered, a rarity for the mid-1970s and today it represents an era we'll never see again because there's just nothing like a massive American luxury car. Nice chrome bumpers and stainless side trim make the car look as long as a city block and it's fitted with fender skirts to help with the sleek profile. The black interior is completely original and offers a tantalizing glimpse into the 1970s luxury car market. Wide bench seats were good for six passengers and the contrasting blue carpets not only work well with the bodywork but add some style to the otherwise monochromatic interior. There are minor signs of age and since this car has lived in a warm climate, there's a bit of fading, but it would be a mistake to change anything in this awesome survivor. The gauges are all fully functional and as the top-of-the-line Chevy, just about everything is included, from factory A/C to power windows and locks, to an AM/FM stereo radio that is probably due for an upgrade today. The seating surfaces are in good shape for their age, with a back seat that still looks almost new and while it's not real wood, the faux burled walnut on the door panels and dash do warm up the interior. There's a recent black power convertible top with glass rear window, and it stows easily under a matching black boot. And for road trips, nothing beats one of these heavy cruisers, with this one offering a very original trunk that includes what might just be the original spare tire. The 400 cubic inch V8 is this car's original engine and it runs superbly thanks to a recent major service. It's not detailed for show, of course, but you already know these engines are virtually bulletproof and the big V8 never balks at moving the Caprice around. The carburetor is freshly rebuilt, the water pump is new, all the belts have been replaced, and even the radiator was flushed so it's ready to enjoy immediately. It starts easily and has a smooth, luxurious idle and pulls well with big-cube torque. The TH350 3-speed automatic transmission feeds 2.73 gears out back, so it's an effortless highway cruiser and the quiet dual exhaust system just purrs along at highway speeds. 215/75/15 Michelin whitewall radials are fitted, adding a period-perfect final touch. Documented with a lot of original paperwork, including manuals and maintenance records, this is a car you can buy with confidence and enjoy for a long time to come. You knew he needed four doors for the family, but with 427 cubic inches under the hood, it was more than just a transportation appliance. The Caprice took over as the top-of-the-line from the Impala and was only offered in 2- and 4-door hardtop (called the sport sedan) models in 1969. As a result, this bright Dover White sedan has a long, low, sporting look that is similar enough to the 2-door to be indistinguishable at first glance. Hailing from the long-time collection of an avid full-sized Chevrolet fan, this handsome car neatly does double duty as comfortable and luxurious daily driver and surprisingly potent muscle car. It was refinished a few years ago in its original code 68 Dover White and still looks good, although as a popular car with its owner, it does have some signs of use. All four doors fit well and there are no indications of rust or accident damage, and you already know the survival rate of sedans like this is quite low, so you probably won't see another one at local shows. The chrome and stainless trim is probably original, from the wrap-around front bumper to the rocker moldings, to the rear bumper which features the Impala's triple taillights, and it's in good condition for being more than 45 years old. The Caprice's top-of-the-line status is most evident inside, where you get room for six and big, comfortable seats that could be the sofas in your grandmother's living room. Actually, it's not that bad, with black button-tufted upholstery that looks rather handsome and brightly contrasting faux wood on the door panels and steering wheel. This sucker's loaded with options, including power windows and locks, A/C, power front seat, and a tilt steering column, so luxury was definitely standard with the Caprice. Most of the interior appears to be original, although the carpets are just too nice to be that old. The gauges cover the basics in a wide, linear instrument panel, and that might be where this car needs a little TLC, as the fuel gauge and original AM radio aren't working. On the other hand, you get incredible stretch-out space in back, which is perfect for road trips, plus a gargantuan trunk that includes what might be the original bias-ply spare tire. The number '427' is magic to Chevy fans, and putting 427 cubic inches of big block V8 in a full-sized sedan makes some interesting things happen. With 390 horsepower, it's potent enough to surprise other drivers on the street, but it's also smooth and unobtrusive when you just want to cruise. It happily eats up hundreds of miles of interstate at a stretch, and at shows, watch the crowd form when you unveil the bright Chevy Orange engine. It runs beautifully and looks good in the all-business engine bay, with an original air cleaner and accessories that help maintain the luxury car persona. It's backed by a heavy-duty TH400 3-speed automatic transmission and 12-bolt rear end, so the hardware is there, and the fresh dual exhaust system with glasspack-style mufflers adds a throaty V8 sound. Standard steel wheels with wire wheelcovers and 215/70/15 whitewall radials enhance the luxury car look and keep the local constabulary from looking too hard at you. Anything with a 427 is cool, but a luxury car with 4-doors and that kind of muscle is our kind of fun. Streetside Classics strives to perform extensive visual inspections on all vehicles we represent but we do not disassemble vehicles or components for inspection purposes and therefore it is always possible that there is hidden damage that is not readily apparent. All vehicles are sold AS-IS with no warranties expressed or implied. WE WELCOME INTERNATIONAL BUYERS As an international buyer, it is as easy to purchase a vehicle from us as it is for any domestic buyer. If you decide to purchase from us, we require that you give us your complete name, address and phone numbers (home, office, mobile and fax) and a port of entry that handles containers. We do not ship vehicles open (RORO: Roll On Roll Off) due to risk of damage to vehicle and theft of parts. All international purchases must be paid by bank wire transfer in US Dollar funds only. Once we have received the funds, we will prepare the car for international shipment through one of our approved land and ocean carriers. We file all the necessary documents for export, deliver the car to a US port, secure it in containers and board an ocean carrier. We can land a vehicle to any port worldwide handling container traffic. We export cars regularly and are familiar with export requirements. You, or your agent, are responsible for Custom clearing the vehicle and registration in your own country.
