Code 65 Olympic Gold is this car's original color and it still looks as good as it did back 1969. Sure, Hugger Orange or bright red is all about getting attention, but this is one of those cars that just gets better and better the more you look at it. In fact, we've spent a lot of time examining this car's bodywork and quite honestly, we are very impressed. It's just spectacular. It's got a sophisticated look, something that's aided by the RS hidden headlights (fully functional, by the way) and the black vinyl top, which is also brand new. Despite the stripes, this is not a boy racer kind of car. We also like the body-colored Endura front bumper, which works particularly well on the RS models, as well as the chin spoiler that balances the ducktail spoiler on the trunk lid. Bright trim, including wheel arch moldings and gill inserts really dress this F-body up nicely and that blacked-out tail panel advertises loud and clear that this SS packs a big block. It just gets better inside with fresh black and white houndstooth upholstery, possibly the best-looking interior of any car of the period. Featuring all new seat covers, a center console, and enough wood trim to make it all look upscale, this is the Camaro that is welcome anywhere. Even more amazingly, everything works, from the clock to all the instrument lights, although the original radio has been disabled in favor of a modern AM/FM/CD stereo hidden in the glove box. There's also functional factory A/C, which has been converted to R134a refrigerant so it's nice and chilly inside. Other options include a tilt steering column with woodgrained SS steering wheel, the gauge package on the center console, and a factory tach, all of which are in working order. The car also has a properly detailed trunk, with a correct mat and vintage Uniroyal bias-ply spare tire and jack assembly. The 396 cubic inch V8 was rebuilt to L34 specs, which means 350 horsepower and enough grunt to make this Camaro a serious threat on the street, even today. It's pretty stock and neatly detailed under the hood, complete with a functional cowl-induction setup and original A6 compressor for the air conditioning. Chevy Orange paint, correct chrome valve covers, and even things like tower hose clamps and a Delco battery topper make it look quite right overall. The 4-speed manual transmission makes the most of the big block's power curve and feeds a robust 12-bolt rear end that shrugs off the torque running through it. Super clean floors, a new reproduction exhaust system, proper stripes and decals as needed, and fresh lines and hoses make this a very high-grade car overall with no skeletons in its closet. And while everyone loves Rallys, the SS wheels on this car complete the luxury/muscle look and carry 215/70/14 Goodyears that fill the fenders perfectly. There's not much else to say here. Gaps are exemplary, the cowl-induction hood sits flush, and the body lines are straight enough to be measured with a ruler. Two-stage urethane paint was used and the white SS stripes were applied using the factory patterns, so it looks exactly right, albeit with a stunning shine. Both the front and rear bumpers wear new chrome, the stainless has been polished, and correct logos have been fitted in the usual locations, giving this Z a very correct look that attracts attention everywhere it goes. The code 711 black bucket seat interior is basically all original as MacNeish says on his report. It also includes an optional center console with auxiliary gauges and factory tach with correct 6000-RPM redline. The stock steering wheel has a proper woodgrained applique that matches the center console's almost exactly, warming up the otherwise monochromatic interior. There's also an original AM radio in the dash and new weather stripping throughout so it genuinely feels like a new car. The trunk is covered incorrect spatter-finish paint with a correct spare and full jack assembly. The shocking thing about this Z is that Jerry MacNeish has certified that it carries its original engine, transmission, and rear end, making it truly investment-grade. The engine bay shows probably the most amount of originality about this Z, that's because it's also mostly all original as well. Finishes are accurate, and little Z/28-specific things like the large-diameter alternator pulley have been retained. Little things matter in a car at this level, so it also offers correct tower hose clamps and correct finishes on the power master cylinder and brake lines. Underneath, the Muncie 4-speed is the one born with the car, as is the 12-bolt rear full of 3.73 gears on a Posi limited slip. A correct dual exhaust system with transverse muffler gives it a wonderful period bark that only a high-winding small block delivers, and assembly markings have been reproduced as necessary. Fresh Rally wheels wearing trim rings and staggered 215/65/15 front and 235/60/15 rear BFGoodrich tires finish the high-quality presentation. Go ahead, check the price guides and you'll find that this Z/28 is a screaming bargain. For years they helped GM build some of the nastiest F-bodies on the road, and this 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SLP ZL575 is more of the same. Incredibly fast, beautifully preserved, and very reasonably priced for the performance you get, it's the Camaro you've always wanted. The SLP cars were always brash and in-your-face machines, and this one, with its bright orange stripes and gaping hood scoop is aggressive without going too far. Finish quality is extremely good, and for a production car from GM, it's shockingly good. The stripes are a throwback to the original SS models of the late 1960s (as is the whole car, I suppose), and aside from the aforementioned hood and deck lid spoiler, it's pretty much as GM intended. The ZL575 badges suggest that this one is something very special, recalling the legendary ZL1, which might be the most valuable muscle car ever built. The paint is deep and glossy and the new Camaro's fit and finish is impressive no matter where you look. If it's attention you crave, this car will deliver in a very big way. The interior was given the same thorough makeover, most notably with those two-tone leather bucket seats that echo the exterior paint scheme. Special embroidery on the head rests is more proof that this isn't your average hot rod Camaro, and you'll note that even the stitching on the seats is contrasting orange thread. The leather-wrapped steering wheel is big and beefy and all the standard Camaro equipment is included, ranging from A/C to cruise control to power everything. The gauges light up with cool red rings around the dials and the beautiful door panels wrap into the dash with a stripe of orange that ties everything together rather neatly. Of course, no performance car worth its salt comes with anything but a shift-it-yourself gearbox, and the 6-speed manual transmission in the Camaro is one of the best. Everything remains in outstanding condition with very little wear, indicative of a caring owner who knew this was something special. There's a special dash plaque on the passenger's side, and as #39 out of 250 produced, you won't see yourself coming at every car show. The hardware in this car is beyond impressive. The foundation is the Camaro's bulletproof LS2 V8, but the guys at SLP aren't about stock. To it they added a very trick roots-style supercharger driven by a special jack shaft running to the back of the engine. The whole setup looks very OEM and gives the aluminum V8 a towering torque curve that will incinerate the tires at almost any speed. Even more remarkable is how docile it is, with an easy idle, good road manners, and even decent fuel economy if you can keep your foot out of the throttle. Options include an SLP adjustable sway bar package and a Brembo GT front brake package, which includes 6-piston calipers and 15-inch 2-piece rotors, a setup that can handle the car's 190 MPH top speed. Custom SLP 20-inch wheels look fantastic with a thin red pinstripe and are wrapped in 245/45/20 front and 275/40/20 Pirelli P-Zero rubber with plenty of life left. Documentation includes an original window sticker, a copy of the Camaro SS registry, and the owner's manual. A fantastic modern collectable that's every bit as fast as it looks. With that in mind, if you're looking for one with a snarling small block, awesome interior, numerous upgrades, and a look that dares other cars to race, perhaps you should call now instead of finishing reading this. 1969 Camaros are quite possibly our #1 best-sellers for good reason: they look positively awesome. You want street cred? An F-body is a great way to get it. You want front-row parking at the next cruise night? This Marina Blue RS coupe will deliver. It keeps with the factory formula, since it's hard to improve on the timeless design (even the factory copied it four decades later), but the execution is quite good. The paint is recent and hugs some very straight sheetmetal that has enjoyed the ministrations of some talented body men. And as a color-change (this one was originally code 50 Dover White), you know it was a full disassembly job, because there's just no white paint to be found anywhere. There's the usual cowl-induction hood, as well as spoilers fore and aft, plus black hockey stick stripes just in case you thought this car isn't arresting enough. Bright chrome bumpers flank the car at both ends, adding a shiny bit of punctuation to the all-black storyline. The vinyl top is also in excellent condition, giving it a grown-up look that works rather well with the black stripes and interior. The interior has been subtly upgraded to make for a better driving experience. The factory buckets wear fresh reproduction seat covers and the door panels are excellent repros, too. The center console is nicely woodgrained and carries our all-time favorite shifter, the GM horseshoe. You'll also note that it now manages four gears instead of three; more on that in a moment. Factory gauges remain in the dash, and you'll note that this car was originally equipped with factory A/C, which is now backed by modern hardware and R134a refrigerant for reliability. A cool AM/FM stereo fits neatly in the original slot and works with a custom Memphis digital controller under the dash. The ultra-clean trunk offers a fresh reproduction mat and spare tire assembly with a matching cover. Horsepower comes easy thanks to a built 350 cubic inch V8. Weiand supplied the intake manifold and Holley provides the 4-barrel carb, which live atop a freshened 1973 4-bolt main block. Chevy Orange paint keeps it looking right under the hood, and a bit of chrome dress-up never hurts, including the Z/28-style finned valve covers. There's a recent alternator, new hoses and clamps, and a fresh master cylinder so you know it's ready to run. The aforementioned 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission carries provides easy cruising and quick reflexes, and powers a 10-bolt rear end that doesn't mind the small block's power. Long-tube headers and a Flowmaster dual exhaust system give it an awesome voice, and with subframe connectors and a full Hotchkis suspension setup it's a great handler. Slick 15-inch Torque Thrusts sparkle against the blue paint and wear 225/60/15 front and 255/60/15 rear BFGoodrich T/A radials. It's a '69 Camaro and it's beautifully finished, so it won't last long. With a 350 under the hood, timeless good looks, and the most stylish interior to come out of GM's design studios that decade, this Camaro tells you all you need to know about the democratic process. Few other cars wear red paint as well as a Camaro, and somehow on this SS coupe it balances aggressive good looks with a stylish upscale vibe. Not too bright, but not soft, either, it's the quintessential muscle car color that projects plenty of attitude out on the street. This car was repainted fairly recently and looks fantastic today, with good panel fit and very straight, clean sheetmetal throughout. Black Z/28 stripes are almost mandatory, just like the cowl-induction hood and ducktail spoiler out back, all of which give this Camaro traditional good looks that never go out of style. Details like the blacked-out SS grille, gill inserts ahead of the rear wheels, and polished stainless wheel moldings were all options, and they elevate this Camaro above some of its stripped-down brothers. And we're particularly fond of this car's black vinyl top, which adds a sophisticated look that will make this F-body stand out in a very crowded field. Strato buckets were standard equipment on the Camaro, and those in this F-body are nicely refinished with reproduction seat covers that totally nail the OEM look. This one originally carried a code 721 Medium Green interior, so you know that anything that's black is new, which is pretty much everything. Carpets, door panels, dash pad, and even the headliner were replaced during the restoration and it all looks quite correct. The gauges are all functional and somewhere along the line this car received an Alpine AM/FM/cassette head unit, and it's nicely installed without any hack work in the dash. A center console is always a welcome find in any muscle car, and you already know how much we love the horseshoe shifter GM used on many of its performance models. The overall effect is comfortable and stylish, like your favorite pair of jeans. You also get a clean trunk that's wearing correct spatter paint, ready to be finished with a new mat. Few powertrain combinations are more reliable and time-tested than the 350 cubic inch V8 backed by a matching TH350 automatic. As a former racer myself, I have always preferred the small block cars for their superior handling and generally more nimble demeanor, and this Camaro is no exception. It's also nicely finished, with some chrome dress-up and yellow plug wires, plus the functional cowl induction air cleaner assembly feeding an Edelbrock carburetor and intake manifold. It's almost a show piece, so you won't mind people having a look under the hood, and it runs extremely well. Hailing from a warm climate, you know the chassis is in good order, the floors are solid, and all the original equipment remains intact. Stock exhaust manifolds feed a mellow-sounding dual exhaust system, and the transmission's quick reflexes practically define the term "stomp and steer," making this an awesome car for slicing through traffic. Rounding out this car's list of noteworthy attributes are Rally wheels wearing 225/70/15 white-letter radials at all four corners. Add in all the options, SLP horsepower upgrades, and, of course, limited availability, and you get a sure-fire collectable that's also a joy to drive. The fourth-generation Camaros hold a special place in many Camaro-lovers' hearts simply because they were such over-achievers. This car is simply way faster than it should have been and its performance is legendary today. This one shows 47,993 original miles, so it's been driven a bit, but it has also been treated like a collector's piece, so the bright Arctic White paint with Hugger Orange stripes remains in excellent condition overall. There are no dents or dings (of course, most of the Camaro was plastic by this point) and aside from some very, very minor signs of use, it remains in outstanding shape. It's got the distinctive SLP ram air hood that force-feeds cold air to the LT1 underneath and there's a neatly integrated wing out back. It's worth noting that this is a solid roof car, no T-tops, so it remains solid and rattle-free and we do particularly enjoy the way the stripes wrap over the roof. There is no chrome or other bright trim, and just about everything was dipped in white paint before being bolted on, so it has a very clean, monochromatic look that works well. The bright white seats with black carpets, dash, and door panels looks flashy but is a step back from the pace car's orange houndstooth and therefore may be a bit more palatable to today's buyers. The leather chairs remain in excellent condition and bely their age with sparkling white surfaces and very few signs of age or wear. The carpets are equally nice, protected by a set of monogrammed SS floor mats. Just about everything was standard, including A/C, power windows, locks, seats, and mirrors, cruise control, and interval wipers, and this anniversary edition sports an automatic transmission, making it a blast to drive under any conditions. The gauges are bright and clear and it still carries its original AM/FM/CD stereo that sounds pretty darned good even with the LT1 singing along. Everything works, of course, and even the trunk is neatly outfitted with a neat storage compartment that keeps your stuff out of sight. Chevy's 350 cubic inch LT1 engine really needs no introduction. It was rumored to have been de-tuned for use in the F-body, but it's no slouch in the performance department and there's a long list of upgrades available from the aftermarket. Fortunately, this car has none of them, remaining 100% stock and with the SLP performance parts that came with it, it remains a potent machine that deserves respect.
