Here is an original code 44 med. green 1979 chevy camaro Z28 , with a total of 3,894 total units produced that year only the code 40 light green had fewer (3,450) the next 2 lowest production colors jump up to 11,370 & 11,875 units produced. Car was assembled in the Van Nuys, Ca. plant & shipped directly to St. Louis, Mo.where it spent the last 35 years, car also has documentation up to 2009 showing only 5,402 original miles, car now has 6,675 miles. Basic 350cid 4 brl carb. 350 turbo 3 spd automatic on floor console, 3.42 rear end gears, factory air, original factory dual exhaust, P.S, P.B. The engine starts fine with no smoke upon start up, no knocks, noises or engine oil leaks but does leak some tranny fluid which i'm looking into, a/c needs charging other than that it drives, shifts, stops & handles like new (1979 new).All the gauges, lights, turn signals & wipers work with the exception of the dash mounted clock. Engine compartment is mostly still original except for fuel pump, alt., battery, hoses, belts , i have the original alternator if you want to rebuild to restore back to original. P225/70R15 Firehawk Indy 500 tires done in 2009 & yes they still have plenty of tread left, underneath the car the frame/chassis is mostly untouched except for an attempt by one of the owners to touch up the engine block with Blue paint ( most likely the 2nd owner who did the re-paint) Exterior paint was redone in 2000 in original code 44 med. green with the added benefits of clear coat, still holding up very very well. Interior was updated in 2000 as well with new door panels, door sills, seat coverings, carpet & am/fm/cd , this was all done by the 2nd owner also, handed down story claims all original body panels,( no bondo) from what i can see this looks to be true, i think this was more of a sun caused deterioration of the single stage paint. Beautiful 1997 Camaro SS convertible 30th Anniversary for sale. This car is in nice condition and is a future collectible since they didn't make many of them. Chevrolet produced only 19 Camaro SS's like this one. It has an automatic transmission. The price on the early Camaro SS is going up quickly so don't miss your opportunity to buy this awesome car. Besides receiving the base alterations from SLP, this car received the SLP Dual-Dual exhaust, Torsen rear end, and oil cooler. The Camaro runs fantastic and is very reliable. I just took it on the 2015 Hot Rod Power Tour long haul which was a total of 2600 miles total and it completed the trip with no issues. This SS was given the SLP makover on 6/20/97. It was originally sold at McCluskey Chevrolet in Cincinnati, OH and has had only 2 owners. It has been taken care of and adult driven its entire life. It has not been winter driven. I purchased this car in Des Moines last August and went through it from top to bottom replacing normal wear items to make this a very reliable car. I also cleaned it from top to bottom and it looks very nice and is right at home at any local cruise night. It has a clean Car Fax. The transmission was replaced at a Chevrolet dealer approx. 10K miles ago. I have performed the following maintenance on the Camaro: oil changes with only Synthetic oil, transmission service, coolant flush, rear end service, spark plug and wires replaced, new u-joints, new rotors (EBC slotted and dimpled) with Hawk brake pads, rebuilt calipers (all 4), steel braided brake lines, master cylinder, brake booster, new harmonic balancer, serpentine belt and tensioner, Koni shocks, poly sway bar bushings front and back, outer tie rods, rear diff. pinion seal, front end alignment, new a/c compressor and lines. The chrome wheels on the Camaro will not be sold with the car, I will put the stock SS wheels back on the car which will be powder coated in white and will have 4 brand new tires. This car has been adult owned and driven by both owners. It has been meticulously cared for and maintained. I welcome anybody who wants to see the car and have a mechanic look it over. This is a very low number Camaro SS. In 1997, there were 2,950 Camaro SSes produced, of those there were 2,081 regular (without the 30th anniversary package), there were 42 Arctic White convertibles produced and only 19 came with an automatic transmission. This Camaro SS received many SLP upgrades. The vehicle has never been used as a fleet vehicle, rental, and/or lease vehicle; I have spoken with the original owner who lives in Florida.
