The Good: Here it is, a one of a kind loaded w/auto/air 63' Chevy short bed step side 4x4 K-10. This truck started as 2-wheel drive C-10 and had a complete frame-off restoration utilizing a much stronger box frame from a late seventies truck. You can actually eat off the fenderwells, frame, etc. The frame rails are all painted black, not undercoated to cover rust! This baby looks like it just came off the assembly line-every nut and bolt is new! All the metal in the cab and outside is brilliant white. The dash has also been redone as has all the metal inside the cab, all glass and chrome, bumpers, grill, weatherstripping etc. An extensive list of modern changes have been made (by professionals, i.e. Folbeck 4WD, Transcraft, and Reno Autobody in Reno, NV). It looks, drives and runs like a much newer truck. She has a 350 Chevy small-block with 4 bolt main and less than 10,000 miles coupled to a newly rebuilt and strengthened Turbo-Hydramatic 400 automatic transmission and new torque converter. The original "divorced" Rockwell transfer case was replaced with a much stronger married NP205. New custom and balanced driveshafts and U-joints with new Dana 44 front end and new Chevy 12 bolt rear - both with 30 spline axles and 3.73 gearing. 4" lift with almost new 35" BF Goodrich MT tires and chrome wheels. New power front disc and rear drum brakes with all new metal brake lines, proportioning valve, and power booster. Power steering and a brand new vintage air unit installed and it is the factory in dash model, not the big unit hanging down under the dash (you have to close valve from radiator to heater core and turn knob under dash to turn on compressor to use air and reverse to use heat). New carpet, new two-tone black suede/white vinyl bench seat. New gas tank is no longer in cab behind seat (custom tank between frame rails). Custom Alpine stereo cd, mp3 with speakers in box's behind seat. B&M automatic ratchet shifter (performance type) All windows roll fine, vents swing open/closed and lock. The engine compartment is mint and clean. New radiator, hoses, belts, battery, plugs, wires, etc. The engine has a chrome Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor, new electric fuel pump and alternator, chrome headers, valve covers and more. Chrome double tube rear bumper with new aluminized exhaust system with dual chrome outlets. The truck sounds great, but not too loud. New tie rod, pitman arm, drag links, steering stabilizer and sway bar installed so truck steers straight as an arrow and doesn't tilt and sway like a 50 year old truck. Modern seat belts were also recently installed. The Bad: The bed is painted black plywood and could use a nice hardwood oak restoration. The paint is in good condition, but there is one small chip on the driver side and there are two spots on the front quarter panels just in front of the rocker panels where I am noticing a few rust bubbles (see pictures). The fuel tank sending unit is not working and the tachometer has a small battery draw that will discharge the battery (I just unplugged it because you don't really need a tach in this truck, but if you want one its there). Finally there is some kind of wire short to one of the blinkers that you might need to run down. Those are literally all of the things that I can think of wrong with this truck. You will not see another early sixties pickup this nice with all these features that is not a rust bucket!....not cheap, but the best never is!... I still have receipts for most of the work as I just finished a major upgrade this year. Problem is that I now need a tow vehicle that my whole family can fit in and I just don't have room for all the rolling stock. Note; this vehicle is being sold as is. I have made every attempt to point out any and all problems known. This vehicle is for sale elsewhere and I reserve the right to end auction at any time.
