Even has the original black & gold California license plate ! it was originally a 350 V8, but the owner has installed a ZZ383 Stroker motor with about 425 HP that is tuned to a gnat's ass.. matched with a 200R4 Tranny and a 391 12 bolt limited slip rear end. The motor and tranny only have about 2000 miles on them... Air Conditioning, Gauges, Stereo, and everything seems to work great. Power steering and Brakes, 14 inch BF Goodrich TA tires, Rear Window is tempered smoked glass (not tinted) Line X coated inside of the bed. 10 Disc CD changer hooked up to radio unit, Clock was replaced by Tach, Aluminum Radiator, 850 Holley Double pump Carb with Electric choke, Short Headmen Headers, MSD with Module, Line Lock front wheels, Nitrous set-up, but never used with this motor - under carb plate. This owner was so particular he has saved the matching numbers original block and even bought a couple of hard to find original 1970 El Camino doors, just in case anything every happened to the car. Not only that, he has the Service manual and a neat box of repair receipts. These items are also available to the new buyer as long as you also arrange pick up or transport. The Car is at my dealership in Vegas, but the block is still in Orange County, Calif. But the best part of this car is how it starts right up and drives and drives and sounds great too ... it's tight as a drum, no rattles, it's a smooth and fast ride. Parting with this car is difficult as it has been an family heirloom. My Grandfather bought it brand new in 1981. When he died, my dad got it and drove it every once in a while. When he died, I got it. I have no one to pass it onto and really do not drive it too often. It has the "Protec-O-Top" hard cover, original leather seats with no tears, original dash covers, original Chevy wheels, blasting cold A/C, great Stereo with CD Player, new battery, and passing Smog certificate. Car runs great~!!!! They do no make them like this anymore.Cosmetically it does have some pealing paint and some parking lot dings on the side of the car.Buyer must be local or able to meet in person to view. Beginning in 1978 and lasting until it was discontinued in 1987, the El Camino was made smaller and given more modern, updated styling. The El Camino of those years shared its platform and style with the Monte Carlo and Malibu. Front fender moldings, body-side moldings and tailgate moldings were available, as well as bumper guards and bumper rub strips. The El Camino's wheelbase measured 117.3 inches, the overall length was 202 inches, the overall width was 72 inches and the overall height was 55.5 inches. The 1981 Chevy El Camino weighed about 3,428 lbs. The front tires were size P215/65-R15 and the back tires were size P205/70-R14.
