I am selling my 1971 Chevrolet C-10 pickup truck. In 2009 I completed a frame-off, nut and bolt restoration. Every piece of this truck was either reconditioned or replaced. It has all the correct hardware and every piece was documented using notes and photos for assembly references. From the factory this truck came equipped with a heater and no other options. During the rebuild I chose to install period correct factory air conditioning using the factory assembly manual prints. I added factory power steering and power brakes. I also equipped the truck with a Borg-Warner Overdrive unit behind the Saginaw transmission. It works great and makes cruising very enjoyable. The engine, transmission, overdrive unit and the differential were completely disassembled and rebuilt. All new brakes, (and this was the first year for front discs by GM on their trucks) new stainless steel brake and fuel lines. It is equipped with 5 new Michelin tires – and not the big box store Michelins, these were purchased from a local Michelin dealer. I performed all the body work. The complete truck was media-blasted . New floor pans, rocker panels, door bottoms and cab corners were butt welded at the seams. Every piece was professionally repaired. All metal was treated with Sherwin Williams etching primer , then sealed with their premium 2K primer. All seams were sealed with 3M body sealer before the basecoat/clear coat was applied. All panels were color sanded and buffed. The 505 Dark Green is beautiful. The doors, fenders, hood and cab are parent metal with high quality repair panels used only where necessary. The bed front panel and tailgate are GM parts and the bed sides are from Mar-K. They are the correct thickness metal and match the factory bedsides. The bed wood is white oak with 8 coats of clear, 4 coats of Marine clear and 4 coats of automotive clear, all sanded between coats. It is finished off with stainless steel strips and hardware. The interior floor, rear cab wall and inside doors were covered with Dynamat. This made a great improvement to the reduction of road noise. New gauges were installed and the Custom AutoSound AM/FM cassette player was installed. The seat was completely disassembled and all parts were blasted and painted. The original foam was reused and additional padding was installed. The seat is very comfortable. It was covered with the factory Houndstooth design cover. Many parts were purchased from GM, and others were from very reputable aftermarket sources. It has all new cab glass. It has been garage kept since the restoration. Many, many man hours went into this restoration and it shows well. I have all receipts, the factory manuals and the original owner's manual. I am the 3rd owner of the truck. I purchased it from an elderly gentleman in Madison County ,VA. He purchased it from the original owner. The truck runs great and handles well. It needs absolutely nothing. It can be placed in a showroom or driven for pleasure. The purchaser is required to pay a $1,000.00 non-refundable deposit with 48 hours of the sale.
