This was originally a six cylinder car and in the 90's a big block was installed along with an automatic transmission. The owner passed away and a family member bought this vehicle that's when it sat in a garage for years. I purchased this car and pulled the engine and transmission and had them rebuilt to make sure it would be dependable after sitting. Motor is a 454 block bored 30 over with new pisons, rings, cam, seals, bearings and gaskets. Cam is 500 lift very streetable with a little sound. The transmission is a turbo 350 that was rebuilt, shift kit, clutches etc. Car is strong and fast, runs great with column shift and power steering. This car does not have ac but heat and defrost works great. The rear end is out of a jaguar with disc brakes and an entire bracket system attached to the car, This was put in when the car was built in the 90's. Unknown what gear is in it. front end is disc brakes and bushings etc are in great shape. 15 inch wheels with good rubber all around. Car handles very well and handling is great, no play at all. All light and switches work as they should, Interior is in good shape other than the drivers seat back where the fabric is pulling apart due to age. Headliner fabric is also sagging. Full dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers ( Not to loud but sounds great). Car has very low miles with no rust,. Paint is great other than a few small chips, Mellow yellow color with white stripes on hood and trunk lid. The driver side door lock will not lock or unlock the door from the outside with the key. Passenger side works at it should. I would drive this car anywhere and is very dependable. VA title and is clear, no loans or leans of any kind. I hate to do this, but I am selling this car. I absolutely love this vehicle but I have to sell due to the transition from military to civilian life. I bought this car about 10 months ago and have been working on it ever since. It ran when I bought it, but it needed repairs. The entire drive train has been pulled and either replaced or rebuilt. The 350 small block runs like a dream and the 4 speed transmission has been completely rebuilt. What's new in it: headers, exhaust, radiator, brakes (including lines), rebuilt Edelbrock 700 CFM carburetor, radio (reproduction of original), and SO much more! You will have to see this car to truly appreciate it. I recently had it at a car show in Hampton and it turned a lot of heads. There were a few owners before me, and I know the engine was replaced 2 owners back. It originally came off the line in '72 as an in-line 6 cylinder. The hatchback version of the '73 SS makes it VERY rare! My preference for payment for this car is CASH, on site, because I like to have people see the vehicle and drive it before any sale is final. Matching number car. 2 build sheets, rust free straight body, seams fit great. “ CJD” engine pretty much make it a real SS, lots of verification of this on several Nova websites. The rear tail pan is not blacked out as a SS should be, but I found an original perfect non SS piece, I love chrome, so did not paint it black. If you buy the car and want to, I will supply a reproduction plastic trim piece, or acid etch and paint this one black, while it is mine…have to look at the chrome!!! Factory AC car, discharge hose fitting was broken during valve job, would have to replace discharge/suction as assembly. I would convert to Sanden compressor and get all new hoses .... BUT, every single piece of factory air system is there, have belt, compressor and clutch run, but leaks refrigerant. Gas gauge, lights, wipers, heater, fan motor, heat /AC controls all work, signals, brake, back up lights, horn all work. 2 lights currently out in dash, high beam and left turn. Nice running, sounding car. Starts right up after sitting for 2 weeks or more. Brand new rebuilt original transmission, stock torque converter, also have 3200 converter if wanted ( you change), 20 miles on rebuild!. Engine is believably a 38K original with no lower work done. No smoke, great oil pressure and compression. Low mile, rust free, original matching number SS car. The car had a total frame off restoration roughly 3 years ago, and still looks just as fresh as the day it was completed. Every piece on the car has been touched and refinished. The car is very straight and is period correct down to the vintage cheater slicks. The car has been featured in Super Chevy magazine and just won a spot in the Hot Rod top 100 at the National Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green Kentucky last year. It has won various shows around the area since then. The car is a stand out and gets a lot of attention wherever it goes.
