This was my 6th Mercedes, my 4th SL, and my 2nd AMG. I love these cars and treat them well. The naturally aspirated 2011 SL63 AMG I just bought is also great, but this SL55 with the supercharger has more low-end torque and just kicks butt. I'm an old man and I don't drive it hard, yet the 40 to 80 speed in this is incredible. It is not perfect, but it will put on smile on your face every time you drive it. The AutoCheck report is clean; the Carfax shows an "accident or other incident" to the front. When I bought it, there was a scrape on the passenger side headlight that went onto the fender. A rare combo of options, with many of the add-ons that you will want to put on ANY Vette. This has a clean Carfax, and still has the full factory bumper to bumper warranty until 03/26/2016, and the power train warranty until 03/26/2018. A new engine was installed at 1,300 miles when the original engine spun a bearing. I am selling my 2005 Mercedes SL55 AMG. I bought this 2 years ago as a 1-owner car, and have only put 6,500 miles on it. My wife and I use it for weekend cruising and trips to the coast, stored in winters. This is my 6th Mercedes, my 4th SL, and my 2nd AMG, and this is by far the best. The 5.5L hand-built supercharged V8 is rated at 493 HP, and responds to the slightest touch with jaw-dropping acceleration. The built-in K40 radar detector is handy, but I'm an old fart and rarely need it. The retractable roof works flawlessly, as do all the power options, including both seat heaters (a common problem on SL's - be sure to check). I have had it maintained by Mercedes-Benz of Shrewsbury (MA), who did a complete 'B' service on 6/19/13, and it passed NH state inspection 8/10/13. It needs nothing. I got the archive of the window sticker from Mercedes-Benz USA, and the original list price was over $130,000! The original 5-spoke AMG wheels had lots of curb rash, so I replaced them with double-spoke AMG wheels and put on new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus tires. The tires have about 6,000 miles on them since new, and are the correct 255-40/ZR18 front and 285-35/ZR18 rear. I added a Dension Gateway 500 iPod adapter. This is an integrated product that shows title/artist on the nav screen and fully supports the steering wheel controls. It also includes an integrated USB port and an auxiliary input jack. Bluetooth and full video are Dension options, but I didn't buy them. This is a great addition to an already-great Bose sound system. (iPod not included.) There is also a 6-disc CD changer, but I never use it. I also added a rear lip spoiler, a new set of OEM SL55 floormats, an OEM windscreen, and there is a new battery in the trunk, the correct vented AGM type. And I replaced the stock steering wheel with a sweet MB wood and perforated leather wheel. I'll include the original wheel if you want it. Both wheels support the finger-tip shifters. I have the full set of owner's manuals, including nav, and all service records during my ownership. The AutoCheck report is clean, but the CarFax shows an "accident or other incident" to the front. When I bought it, there was a scrape on the passenger side headlight that went slightly onto the fender. I was able to buff most of it out - see the photo. The only other flaw I know of is the volume control for the radio. When using the knob on the radio, the volume doesn't change smoothly, it changes in steps.
