This 280Z is the 1st year model of the 280Z, which are truly classic cars and remembered by all who remember the 70's. This is a somewhat more rare version of this series and year as this Z is a coupe and has an automatic transmission. The black interior really stands out with the gold exterior. The exterior paint is great in some places, and so-so in others, but none of the paint is worn off and this car has absolutely no rust at all. All the 70's 240-260 and 280Z's are notorious for rust problems, but not this one. This car has only 1 rear view door mirror, on the drivers side. This 280Z has only 85,166 original miles and it is 40 years old! The engine and compartment are clean and grime free. It is a testament to the care of this car throughout its lifetime. When cranking this Z, it fires right up, no waiting or coxing! The interior of this car is one of the more surprising features, it's immaculate, no tears, no rips, no cracks, it's amazing that it's all original! The only blemish to the interior is the passenger side kick plate is missing. This car is not for those who are looking to buy/sell and who have profit motive as they're goal. This 1975 280Z is for those who love these cars, someone who, like me, will love and care for this car like it is their child. Those who know what I'm talking about will understand this. Those people who looked out the window of their parents car from the backseat with utter amazement as one of these Z's pulled next to them at a red light. When I drive this car, it sometimes gets so much attention from people that it becomes hazardous. While this can be annoying at times, you also see the young boy/girl staring at your Z from the backseat of their parents car. As I have read on other listings, this is not a new car, this car is a survivor! It is not perfect, things break, like the hood release did on me a week or so ago, I have been as upfront and forthright as I can. If I missed anything or made a mistake, it isn't intentional. I, like my Z, am not as young as I used to be, and sometimes I forget or miss something. I hope that you will appreciate this car as you would any American Classic Car. This car is a great car, it will take care of you, if you take care of it. This car needs to be in a garage, protected from extreme heat and cold. It is old, it is going to act old at times, but it will also take you back to a time when you were young if you let it. Selling my Honda Ridgeline Ill start by telling you I am the second owner of this truck ,I bought it around 20k miles so Im the majority owner .It is a Wonderful Truck !!.Possibly the BEST Truck ive ever had Were a HONDA family and once this truck is sold a new one will Replace it .MECHANICAL CONDITION !She is in PERFECT Mechanical Running Condition.Every thing works as it should ,Has the coldest air of any of the cars I have ever owned .The brakes have just been replaced all the way around ,The tires were replaced in 2010 and have low miles on them since ,I have ALWAYS changed the oil and done any maintenance on her ontime everytime , All the doors shut solid as the day it was new ,Shifts perfect .Really in the mechanical department there is nothing I can tell you PHYSICAL APPEARANCE Ok she is a truck and therefore has a couple of bruises ,Ill try to explain every one that I know of ,There is a small dent on the drivers door roof pillar ,Was there when I bought her so I have no idea how it got there ,There is a medium dent in the passengers side quarter where someone decided to open their door or what ever on it .(see pics) ,The tailgate has a scratch on it Possibly from a limb coming out ,Like I said she is a truck and I did use it .Also the bed has typical scratches on the bed floor .There is a mall dime size wonky spot on the roof ,dunno what caused that but you do need a ladder to see it .That's pretty much it on the outer appearance ..and not much really ,all the glass is clear ,no cracks in any of the lenses ,the wheels don't have any curb marks or any paint fading from too harsh of chemicals being used on them .The underside looks almost like the day it did when I bought her !!INTERIOR The interior is in clean nice condition ,First off im a NON SMOKER and never has a Smoker been in the truck ,So no funky smell or burned weather stripping ,The seats are Pretty clean as is the carpet ,There may be a stain or two but none really noticeable ,All the controls function as they should ,There is a 6 disc cd changer and it has XM capability ,The dash is very nice ,there is a small scratch on the airbag part of the dashboard and is one of those I have no idea how that got there things ,There is also a small (about one inch ) knick in the rear seat ,Im thinking from a baby seat ,Its not a tear just like a fabric scratchSUMMARY As you can probably tell I love my truck !She has been a wonderful Trouble free part of our family,It drives hand handles like a car so when it comes to Trucks Noone can compare .I have used it to pull boats with and it handles boat ramps better than anything Ive ever had .It will pull my 5000 lb sail boat up the steepest ramps like its not even there ,I attribute this to the all wheel drive .As you could also tell I am a Car Person !! I tried to give you a description on everything that is WRONG with the truck!!Again ive done all my own maintenance including the cabin air filter and its all up to date do all you need to do is gas her up and Go! 1973 VW Thing ..Good solid daily driver Quick History ,An Older gentleman I know has had this car since 1983.Ive been after him to sell me this car for years .I finally got it about two years ago with plans to build a good dependable daily driver.Ive since purchased an all electric car and don't drive it and its the LAST of my vw collection.I want it to go to a nice home. CONDITION Ill start by saying this is not a show car .. ..What it is ,is a good solid ,dependable driver.When I bought it I went through the brakes an replaced the shoes and slave cylinders The brakes are great.I had my mechanic go through the engine ,basically new pistons and cylinders as well as fuel pump,carb,fuel lines ,plugs, wires, points .It has a new battery.The car runs great .Its not super fast or anything but ive driven it on 100 degree days and its never overheated or acted funny.I have once or twice had a hard time starting it once hot ..but that's a vw for ya.Oh yeah ..the engine is a 1600 bug engine .it does not have the skid plate (although I have it and you will get it with the purchase) .Nor does it have factory Thing exaust.Whats on it works well though.All n All You just need a small amount of time to finish assembly of the wipers and such and a few Minor things for detailing and such.I just no longer have time and need the space in my shop ! OK the body.The floor is in OK condition .in the past someone made a patch for the battery tray and its working ,there are some cracks in the floor that have been brazed up.but it is the OG floor and needs nothing to carry on.All the doors are OK and work fine.One of them has some wonky bends around the inside edge(drivers rear).(I have a replacement white door for this one,I just didn't take any pics of it) .There is no rust in the body at all.the engine compartment is solid as well .fenders look good as does the windshield frame .the hood does have a small dent from of all things a squirrel falling out of a tree onto it.Now ...the top,top,frame,bow are all new (least a year old anyway) and are from the Thing Shop.No Top can compare to their quality and it shows.Car also has Glass Sliding Windows ,These are absolutely THE BEST windows and Ive had them on every thing Ive ever Owned .They were not cheap at all..But trust me if you ever have a set you will never go back to the plastic ones. The wheels and Tires are also less than a year old.They are 17 inch and the tires have less than 500 total miles on them.The car has been lowered a tad by adjusters and could really use some new shocks.The rear bumper is fine ,needing a blast and pain job.the front one I did bump into my wifes car and bent it a tad.(see pic) fully repairable I just haven't gotten around to it . The gas heater was working last winter .It stopped toward the end of the season and I do know whats wrong with it .With purchase of the car you will get a spare heater(not pictured) a good and tested pump and some new line to run to the heater as well as the tee.(its disconnected as of this moment) Other electrical components The car has NO radio,The head lights and taillights work fine .the turn signals work sometimes.I do have a brand new turn signal as well as a new wiper switch that you will get in the purchase.(not pictured)The wiper motor and wipers are not on the car but you will get all that stuff.The car was in boxes when I bought it and I don't drive it in rain so just never got around to installing it .
