For sale is a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9L Limited. This was the elite SUV in 1998 - of the 1.5 million ZJs Chrysler produced, only 1% of them were 5.9 liter V8s, with less than a third of them being California emissions approved and a third of those Deep Slate colored. Transfer case was replaced with a 247-249 hybrid that eliminates the problematic viscous coupler with the enhanced WJ core 35,000 miles a go. Transmission was also replaced by the dealer with a remanufactured one 45,000 miles ago and transmission cooler added. Modifications: • Power: 350+ horsepower from mods including C.A.R.B. approved Edelbrock headers, Crower 1.7" roller rockers, ported and polished intake, Kolak 3" exhaust, Magnum valve covers, etc. • Transmission: MSaine valve body (improves shifting), B&M Supercooler • Transfer case: 247-249 Hybrid transfer case • Electrical: Mopar 160A alternator, Stinger 1/0 Gauge wire, plus "Big 3" upgrade and Sears Die Hard Battery (~500 miles of use) • Audio: MB Quart 240 Watt upgraded sound system from Infitity paper woofer garbage • Ignition: MSD Blaster 3 coil and Magnecor Electrosport 8mm spark plug wires • Wheels: Chrome Cobra Wheels 17 x 8" • Tires: Federal Super Street SS-595 255x55 Tires (~500 miles of use) • Brakes: Power Stop Performance rotors and Stillen Metal Matrix High Performance pads (~500 miles of use) • Suspension: Bilstein Shocks, Rear Hellwig Sway Bar and H&R Super Sport 1.4" Lowering Springs • Lighting: Euro Glass Headlights, Hella Optilux 1200 fogs, deambered turn signals • Emissions: C.A.R.B. approved catalytic converter - this Jeep was originally a Federal model Known cosmetic issues: • Paint peeling off plastic trim on louvres and around license plate. Hood has multiple nicks. May want to remove and respray. • Headliner starting to peel • Chrome on inside of wheels starting to flake off. Outside still looks great. Known mechanical issues: • Driver's side heated seat does not work • Power mirrors lose their setting - electrical contacts need to be cleaned This was my daily driver and I kept it in tip-top shape with oil changes every 3,000 miles with fully synthetic motor oil. All parts were replaced with original Mopar parts or upgraded aftermarket units. Selling, because I bought another car.
