I'm moving overseas and, unfortunately, I have to sell my 1997 Subaru Legacy Outback, 2.5 liter 5 speed. It's in very good shape inside and out, runs very smooth and has served me well! Positives: - Only 20,000 miles on rebuilt engine. (Engine rebuilt March 2019 at 165,426 miles. 185,506 current miles on odometer.) - New front brakes, catalytic converter's, fuel pump, plugs and wires, alternator, timing belt, radiator, water pump and hoses, rack and pinion, etc. - Replaced clutch and gear shifter linkage. - Good tires and shocks. - All gauges and devices (a/c, heater, front seat heaters, DVD player, interior and exterior lights, wipers, automatic windows and side mirrors, cruise control, etc.) in good working order. - Rear tinted windows. - Have all receipts. Problems/Flaws: - There's a very tiny, slight oil leak, possibly from warping of valve cover (all gaskets and seals were replaced.) - Some scuffs, oxidized patches and peeling clear coat on original paint. (Actually, I like it - gives the car character.) - Tiny ding near right rear taillight. - Previous owner was from cold, wet winter climate of Minnesota and small rush patches formed in a few spots where roof rack and antenna attach to roof (I applied rust deactivator, bondo and black primer to prevent further rusting). - One of the headrests to backseat, scroll cover to cargo area and hand crank to jack are missing. - There are few other less-significant, minor flaws.

Hello Fellow E-bayers!Up for your consideration is this spectacular frame off, ground up restored 1955 Ford Thunderbird - this is a very special, truly unique car that I had built from the ground up - built literally "as new" by the world renown company, Prestige Thunderbird in Santa Fe Springs, California. You can search the internet for them - they have been in the business of restoring 1955 to 1957 Classic Thunderbirds - EXCLUSIVELY - for the last 40 years. They are master craftsmen, and no company on earth knows these cars better. I contacted them, and asked them to custom build me a 1955 T-Bird exactly the way I wanted it. And thats what they did - with astonishing hand built precision ...and now, due to some changes in my lifestyle, and needing to downsize, I am somewhat reluctantly offering her for sale to the right new owner - one who can appreciate the singular qualities of this truly one of a kind automobile. First, I thought "I'll just find a 1955 Thunderbird, and then make a few modifications to make her exactly what I want"....then, after speaking with the experts at Prestige, they told me they could custom build a brand new 1955 T-Bird to my exact specifications - in other words, every nut and bolt new - with a completely re-built correct original 292 cid Y-Block V-8 - on a completely fresh (sandblasted to bare metal) 1955 body and freshly restored frame. I liked that idea a lot. So - thats how we started - first, they found a 1955 rust free California car - then sand blasted the body and frame down to bare metal, then every single aspect of the car - was built "as new" - I am not exaggerating at all - this car is literally built by hand...and then, I requested a few modifications to make this T-Bird a truly drivable car - for example, I had a 2003 Mustang 5-speed manual transmission installed in place of the original 3-speed (which makes this car so much more fun to drive than the original clunky 1955 3-speed), also replaced the 1955 "generator" with a 1957 model "alternator"...also, the carburetor is a Holley 4 barrel from the 1957 Thunderbird - so this car is the one of the quickest, best driving 1955 T-Birds you will ever find anywhere. Here is a list of details about this particular car: 1955 Ford Thunderbird: Complete Ground Up, Frame Off Restoration. Every nut and bolt - NEW and as original. This is virtually a brand new 1955 car. Car is an absolute gem, and is very close to mint. On a scale of 1-10, this is easily a #9 car. No bondo, straight as an arrow, never in a collision of any kind. The paint is gorgeous - truthfully, the car could use a buff to take out a few slight superficial marks. Remember, I DROVE this car - not a lot - mostly on weekends for drives to the beach, etc. but she is designed to be DRIVABLE every day if you so desire. Anyway, there a few insignificant light marks that can be easily buffed out. Low mileage (apx. 2000 miles). Yes, that is correct actual miles - I bought her custom built, AS NEW, therefore the odometer was at "0" when I bought her. 2000 miles is all that has been driven on this car since I took possession. Car is stock, except a few modernizations designed to make it a superb driver. Power Front Disc Brakes: (replaces standard "drum brakes" - huge improvement in drivability.) Modern Mustang 5 speed manual transmission from a 2003 Mustang (replaces stock 3 speed) with custom walnut shift knob. This is a huge improvement - again, this car drives beautifully - a cross between the classic feel of the original 1955, but with a few serious modernizations that make it drive like butter! Custom camel (medium tan) all leather interior, including matching leather seats, leather door panels, and leather clad dashboard. Gorgeous! I have never seen this color combination on a 1955 Thunderbird - please see pics. The contrast between the Raven Black exterior and the tan leather interior is simply stunning!Wide white wall radial tires. Power steering. Original 1955 steering wheel. Front Sway bar for better cornering/ handling. You won't believe how significant this improvement is. Upgrade to 12 Volt electrical system. ( Ford upgraded this in 1956 - the original 1955 design incorporated a 6 volt system - one of the truly inadequate aspects of this, the first year of the classic T-Bird)). Electronic ignition for carefree starts every time.Battery cut off switch makes storing the car easy - and you'll never come out and the car is "dead" - or, if you don't plan on driving her every day - if you plan to leave her sit in your garage for a few weeks, you simply shut off the battery with a simple turn of a "knob" and - this saves your battery life - fantastic. Freshly Re-Built Alternator (from a 1957 Thunderbird) replaces original design which incorporated a generator. Huge improvement. Carburetor is the 1957 - Holley 4 barrel model, much improved from the primitive oil-bath style from 1955. Electric Windshield Wipers (replaces original vacuum system). Full Frame detail - bottom of the car is super clean, and show quality. 4 Kelsey Hayes Wire Wheels with red center caps - beautiful, distinctive touch. Stunning Black High Luster Clear Coat Paint in correct Raven Black color. AM-FM custom stereo, with cassette player, with 4 speakers. High Quality Under Dash Air Conditioning. Parade Fan (in front of radiator) for much needed extra cooling. If you know about these cars, they were obviously wonderful - but they did have a tendency to over heat during long drives - the parade fan is placed in front of the radiator, behind the "grille" - and does a fabulous job of keeping the radiator cool. Engine Dress Up Kit, featuring all the bells and whistles - chrome components, special valve covers with T-Bird logo, etc. See Pics. Sun Visors. Believe it or not, they were optional back in 1955. Since purchasing my car in 2012 I have done the following: I have rebuilt the original 2.0 engine and bored it up to a 2.3 liter with bigger pistons, cam shaft and all and any parts needed for it. Updated to electronic ignition with exterior oil cooler and fan under rear trunk. The fly wheel, pressure plate and all parts for the clutch are new. The transmission has been rebuilt with synchronizers replaced, seals and shifting bushings are new. My Porsche currently has 82,890 original miles. I bought the car from another Porsche enthusiast who bought my car as a package deal with a 69 911s from a broker who bought it from the original owner. The 75 914 had been sitting in a storage shed for over 20 years, and its registration and license plate stickers last read from 1982. The car originally had 52,000 or so miles on it when I bought it and I had been convinced by a few mechanics that the engine needed to be rebuilt. The engine was rebuilt with European Motor Works, please feel free to speak to George the owner and he will fill you in about any details or questions regarding the engines performance and build specs. (310-644-8038) I fully re-painted the car to its original color L-64 Zambezi green with Martin at Beach Boys Racing in Venice Beach Ca. The engine compartment insulation pad/fire wall pad is new. This is a carbureted engine with new 44 Weber’s. She has all around air shocks (Konies) both front and rear original sway bars and new rear springs. New fuel pump, new starter, all new stainless steel fuel lines, break lines and new hoses. Everything was overhauled. I even had the windshield washer fluid updated to an electric version using the windshield wiper switch. All parts that were suggested were power coated, Ive done everything to the car that an enthusiast would want to have his/her 914 restored to. Most of all the mechanical work and my continued up-keep of the car is through Alex Wong at Precision Tech Motor Sports in Culver City (I highly recommend him for any 914 owner looking for a honest mechanic) 310-822-4566 I only have 2 aftermarket rubber seals on the car purchased from 914 rubber. (Main targa top seal and the trunk seal) The windshield wiper lever was replaced and the bulbs in the dash have been replaced too. I spent a lot of money updating the stereo system to integrate with the original factory installed radio so all is hidden. (Stereo upgrades done through Al-and Edd’s in Santa Monica) amp, crossovers, new speakers and passenger floor sub that is unique and hidden. So you can play the radio through the original radio with modern 4 way sound (not the original 2 way) and also have an auxiliary output cable to use and switch between radio or aux. The car has 5 professionally chromed 2.0 Fuchs and new tires. The car has been my daily driver for the past few years and very reliable and fun to drive. All electricals, everything works on the car with the recent exception of the seatbelt sensor light now working. The car comes with the original 1975 owner’s manual and dealer advertisement broacher’s for the car. (also I have binder of original early 70’s magazines) I backdated the rubber 1975 bumblers to early chrome bumpers w/o the bumperets. I have done so much with this car, re-upholstered the interior in full, added seat warmers, stainless steel heat exchangers, completely re-painted the car at Beach Boys Racing in Venice. (Original shop next door to where Otto’s used to be) I have many collector item parts that come with the car. Currently I have the original 914/6 leather steering wheel and also have a vintage leather Nadi racing wheel and hub that I had on her before. I’m into the car for well over $50k+ (stopped counting) I The dash top is flawless and original, all original window glass is in good condition except once minor freeway chip on the front windshield that had been applied glue some 3 years ago when occurred. There’s many items Ive paid for to have my 914 in her current condition that I have not listed. Ive had such a love hate relationship with her from the beginning as I have invested so much money into getting her to the current condition. Unfortunately due to regular use, there are some minor imperfections from my original overhaul. I do have 2 minor door dings on the passenger side door from other people opening their doors at parking lots and one minor one on the driver’s side door. The dash face vinyl has started to peel and simply needs to have some minor touch ups at a upholstery shop to glue it back in place. The other is the very small freeway stone chip on the windshield glass, and that currently the seatbelt light is not turning on. I am hoping for someone who is in interested in buying my car be in LA as I am unable to drive my 914. I am very happy to go with you to any mechanic to get a PPI inspection, or to have a reputable enthusiast from the 914 world forum arrive to my house and view my car on your behalf. I have had a love hate relationship with my car, from finding her in original condition, and not knowing the financial journey to come and the experiences with sorting for parts, and time and energy spent during lengthy periods of the engine rebuild, to the transmission, to the electricals and many other experiences along the way. We both have taken care of the truck well and beside the routine maintenance, it also had fuel filter change, both 02 sensors replaced, flush Injectors and cleaned Throttle Body done at 60,000 miles. The latest oil filter change and K&N air filter cleaning/re-oil and tire rotation was done at 81,000 miles. It has two sets of keys, original window sticker, and owners manual. Because of the camper shell, its registered as regular "Automobile" class and NOT Commercial thus making annual reg fees very reasonable. Everything works as it should be, air cond blows cold, 80% tread on tires, and drives fantastic. Heavy Duty brakes (rotors/pads) lasts a long time and has lots of life ahead. No accidents, no dents, no leaks and no abuse, its loved since day one. No spiders, webs or eggs underneath or in the suspension areas either as its parked on my driveway (not on street) and I spray Ortho protection weekly, that's how perfectionist I try to be sometime lol. As you can see this truck has lots of options and very versatile depending on what you want to use for. My neighbor used it for hunting/fishing. With the camper shell and custom bed storage set-up, he stored his gear in the cabinets and truck bed bottom and he slept on the custom padded sleeping platform on top. He told me a driver ran a stop sign and tapped the brush guard few years back, although the brush guard held up well he did reported to his insurance. I originally wanted to tow a travel trailer (tow rating is 11,000 lbs) since it has all the features to do so especially withe the long wheelbase and HD Tow/Haul trans but I decided to have more maneuverability since my road trips has more city/residential stops. Sometime I go solo, sometime I take my GF. We can fit all of our gear, cloth, food, water, emergency toilet, and etc in the storage areas while we sleep on the platform. Although the platform is already padded, I added a mattress topper for extra comfort. With opening the screen windows slightly, you'll get fresh ventilation, no condensation and its very comfortable and stealthy!! And YES, the camper shell hatch can be locked and opened from the inside!! I upgraded to a Class B recently and thus its for the next person or family to enjoy this truck although I'm not desperate to sell. I generally agree that KBB is an industry price guide for automobile values. However, some vehicles are measured by their intrinsic value. This truck with all its options can be use for many applications from personal use to commercial use. It can tow all types of trailers including 5th wheels and boats. It can also be great for cabover (Lance) campers as well. Or use it for hunting/fishing or stealth road trip camping like I did. The possibilities are endless!! I have seen other current truck ads for sale on CL/Autotrader/ebay, and my truck's mileage, condition, and options compared to whats for sale out there, I believe what I'm asking is fair and reasonable. (also I have binder of original early 70’s magazines) I’m into the car for well over $50k+ (stopped counting) I had my rotator cuff on my right shoulder repaired 4 weeks ago and I cant drive my car and so she’s sitting under a waterproof car cover in my driveway. The dash top is flawless and original, all original window glass is in good condition except once minor freeway chip on the front windshield that had been applied glue some 3 years ago when occurred. I backdated the rubber 1975 bumblers to early chrome bumpers w/o the bumperets. I have done so much with this car, re-upholstered the interior in full, added seat warmers, stainless steel heat exchangers, completely re-painted the car at Beach Boys Racing in Venice. (Original shop next door to where Otto’s used to be) I have many collector item parts that come with the car. Currently I have the original 914/6 leather steering wheel and also have a vintage leather Nadi racing wheel and hub that I had on her before. There’s many items Ive paid for to have my 914 in her current condition that I have not listed. Ive had such a love hate relationship with her from the beginning as I have invested so much money into getting her to the current condition. Believe it or not the car has no rust (besides some very minor surface rust in some areas as I live close to the beach and she’s very straight) Unfortunately due to regular use, there are some minor imperfections from my original overhaul. I do have 2 minor door dings on the passenger side door from other people opening their doors at parking lots and one minor one on the driver’s side door. The dash face vinyl has started to peel and simply needs to have some minor touch ups at a upholstery shop to glue it back in place. The other is the very small freeway stone chip on the windshield glass, and that currently the seatbelt light is not turning on. I am hoping for someone who is in interested in buying my car be in LA as I am unable to drive my 914. I am very happy to go with you to any mechanic to get a PPI inspection, or to have a reputable enthusiast from the 914 world forum arrive to my house and view my car on your behalf. I have had a love hate relationship with my car, from finding her in original condition, and not knowing the financial journey to come and the experiences with sorting for parts, and time and energy spent during lengthy periods of the engine rebuild, to the transmission, to the electricals and many other experiences along the way. A very well cared for 914, clean title in hand and registration is through to August 2017. I am in no rush to sell the car and or interested in low ball offers.
