Up for sale is my 2004 Volvo V70R in a remarkable condition, exceptionally well maintained, accident-free, untouched by tuners, or amateur (street / track) race drivers – a rare find. I bought this beautiful red R as one-owner and clean-Carfax 2011, at her 78K miles. At 122K now, with flawlessly performing mechanics and electronics (*), very clean non-smoker interior and eye-catching exterior, no “suspicious” noises, smells, leaks, etc., this R is ready for the next couple of hundred thousand miles of smooth operation that well-maintained Volvos are so famous for. The limited edition V70R sports wagon is truly an amazing, super versatile driver’s machine! Great family and supplies hauler on the outside, super effective and economical traffic beater (excellent fuel economy: 19-22 mpg city, 29-33 mpg hwy), with just clues of elegant sport aggressiveness noticeable to those in the know. Also true to the “sleeper breed”, on a curvy highway, with the dynamic chassis controls set to sport (or advanced) and gas pedal pressed harder, the 300 hp turbocharged R shows its real potential, delivering the thrill of Acela-rail-like ride, acceleration pushing you into the ergo-shaped deep bucket seats, more mid-range overtaking power (torque) than you’ll ever need – exactly when you need it, and a great feeling of staying “glued” to the road, in control at all times. Except for some aluminum accents added to the dashboard and shifter console, the car is completely stock specification. Recent maintenance included new wheel bearings and hubs, front struts, brake rotors and pads (+brake fluid system flush), wheel alignment, coils and spark plugs (80K long-life), coolant and transfer-case fluid, synthetic motor oil, cabin air filter, all wiper blades (inc. headlamp ones). NY inspection / registration just renewed. For your consideration: · Speed-sensitive power rack and pinion steering (*) operates mostly in the default driving mode, harder for parking maneuvering. Bought the car with the issue and have never felt the need to fix it. Cost of a potential repair at a Volvo dealership = $723 (power steering transducer + steering system flush) · Rear tires up for replacement probably after this summer ($250) · Minor cosmetic issues, like curb rash on the alloys, a couple of very light dings / scratches here and there, small crack in the rear left lamp cover, light wear on the driver’s seat · There is one "non-collision accident / minor issue" on the record for the car. In June 2012, while backing up from a driveway, I "sat" on a high curb with the R's undercarriage, scraping and damaging parts of the exhaust system upon freeing the car from the "trap". Resulting costs were covered by insurance which later produced the said record.
