In most cases at the time of inspection our cars do not have tire pressure sensor lights on. However, because these cars sit for weeks at a time with various different temperatures the sensors could kick TPS lights on for various reason. Tires may loose pressure due to aluminim or chrome wheels. These type of wheels need to be driven consitanty or they will slowly loose air. We try to check each one weekly. In some cases if the tire pressure got below the minimum, the sensor will send a single to the computer to kick the light on. Even after you put air back in the tire, it still may not reset the light until it is driven so many miles or so many times. In some cases the sensors need replaced, in other situations they just need driven daily for a few days. In the past we would replace them. But we have learned that it is a constant rabbit trail because the cars are designed to be used daily. The best solution is to drive the vehicle daily and wait if the light comes off. Most sensors are $35-$65. In order to keep our customers happy with their transaction we have learned that it is better to NOT guarantee that tire pressure lights are on. So when buying are car off of us please understand that we do not gurantee TPS lights to not be on the day of or within a few days after the sale. Steve Mazor, the Auto Club of Southern California's chief automotive engineer, says that while some people freak out when they see the Check Engine light," Its important to note that Check engine lights are primarily emissions based lights. They are different from more important lights like "Engine Oil Pressure Warning Light" or "Engine Temperature Warning Light". Service Engine soon or "Check Engine" If the light comes on, Mazor says the driver should first see if the gas cap is loose: That's a common cause. A loose cap sends an error message to the car's computer, reporting a leak in the vapor recovery system, which is one aspect of a car's emissions system. If the gas cap is loose, tighten it and continue driving. Even so, it will take some time for the light to go off, he says. Other times the Check Engine light will come on if you fuel the vehicle while running the car. Many people do this in the heat of the summer, or the cold of the winter. This is called a "VAPOR GLITCH. This will kick on the light since it will allow more oxygen in the system than what is normal. Thus the computer will think there is a vapor leak. Furthermore, if you top off the gas, you may inadvertantly cause to much gas in the gas tank baffle system, thus kicking on the vapor light. Mazor says that even an inexpensive code reader could be useful for car owners, even if they aren't mechanically inclined, because the majority of the time the lights come on, they are temporary glitches in the system due to the above mentioned reasons. A $20 scanner can be used to clear the code and is much cheaper than paying a shop $80 for nothing. Some people insist on paying a shop to read the signal codes. Please remember you will often get whats called "Mixed Signals" in the automotive repair industry. Because even after you have paid $80 to get the code from the mechanic, the code and its meaning are often open to interpretation. This is where many shops make lots of money charging customers to repair seniors or hoses that in nor way needed replaced. Many shops would rather make money on the labour and parts to ensure you will not have to come back, than to clear the code, even when they know in all likelihood it was a "vapor glitch". For example: If a vehicle sits on our lot, and is not driven daily for 2 months, certain carbons will build up in the exhaust. If you then come and buy that same vehicle and drive it back to your state at 70mph for 10 hours straight, you very well may kick on a check engine light since the seniors will be getting signals of too much carbon build up. THEREFORE IT IS VERY COMMON that a Check Engine light comes on when nothing is wrong with the car, Mazor says. "It could be a temporary problem caused by a change in humidity or other factors. In such cases, the light should go off by itself after a short time." Even if there is a legitimate problem, 95% of the time it is only a O2 sensor (part of the emissions system, monitoring and helping adjust the air-fuel mixture) Loose gas cap, Mass air flow sensor (monitoring the amount of air mixed in the fuel injection system). In a worse case scenario IF the check engine light starts to flash on and off constantly you will want to immediately take it to a shop. In all likelihood it will only need a Catalytic converter or new Spark plug wires. At the time or our inspection ALL CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ISSUES WILL BE FIXED (unless noted in the video) . However, we CANNOT warranty check engine lights. We do a once a week re-inspection of each vehicle on our lot. Often during those re-inspections we find new check engine lights that have come on. 99% of the time it is a VAPOR GLITCH. We have often seen vehicles that have never had a vapor glitch sit on our lot for 2 or 3 months, only to have the vapor glitch come during the buyers test drive or soon after. Since we do not have a crystal ball, we cannot guarantee this will not happen. If we are doing a delivery, and during the course of the delivery the light comes on, you cannot reject the vehicle. Please remember we do our best to provide a quality USED VEHICLE. But at the end of the day, it is a used vehicle. #5. Unless otherwise noted, all of our vehicles come with tires that passed the Certified Inspection. New tires come with 10/32s of tread depth. We fail tires below 4/32s. If that is the case we will note it in the video or in the description section that "vehicle will need tires ASAP". Sometimes tires are close to 4/32s. ANY VEHICLE WITH TIRES BETWEEN 4/32s AND 7/32s WILL BE PRICED $500 LOWER TO GIVE YOU MONEY TO PURCHASE NEW ONES WITHIN THE FIRST FEW MONTHS OR MILES DRIVEN,DEPENDING ON HOW MANY MILES YOU DRIVE PER MONTH. Steve Mazor, the Auto Club of Southern California's chief automotive engineer, says that while some people freak out when they see the Check Engine light," Its important to note that Check engine lights are primarily emissions based lights. They are different from more important lights like "Engine Oil Pressure Warning Light" or "Engine Temperature Warning Light". Service Engine soon or "Check Engine" If the light comes on, Mazor says the driver should first see if the gas cap is loose: That's a common cause. A loose cap sends an error message to the car's computer, reporting a leak in the vapor recovery system, which is one aspect of a car's emissions system. If the gas cap is loose, tighten it and continue driving. Even so, it will take some time for the light to go off, he says. Other times the Check Engine light will come on if you fuel the vehicle while running the car. Many people do this in the heat of the summer, or the cold of the winter. This is called a "VAPOR GLITCH. This will kick on the light since it will allow more oxygen in the system than what is normal. Thus the computer will think there is a vapor leak. Furthermore, if you top off the gas, you may inadvertantly cause to much gas in the gas tank baffle system, thus kicking on the vapor light. Mazor says that even an inexpensive code reader could be useful for car owners, even if they aren't mechanically inclined, because the majority of the time the lights come on, they are temporary glitches in the system due to the above mentioned reasons. A $20 scanner can be used to clear the code and is much cheaper than paying a shop $80 for nothing. Some people insist on paying a shop to read the signal codes. Please remember you will often get whats called "Mixed Signals" in the automotive repair industry. Because even after you have paid $80 to get the code from the mechanic, the code and its meaning are often open to interpretation. This is where many shops make lots of money charging customers to repair seniors or hoses that in nor way needed replaced. Many shops would rather make money on the labour and parts to ensure you will not have to come back, than to clear the code, even when they know in all likelihood it was a "vapor glitch". For example: If a vehicle sits on our lot, and is not driven daily for 2 months, certain carbons will build up in the exhaust. If you then come and buy that same vehicle and drive it back to your state at 70mph for 10 hours straight, you very well may kick on a check engine light since the seniors will be getting signals of too much carbon build up. THEREFORE IT IS VERY COMMON that a Check Engine light comes on when nothing is wrong with the car, Mazor says. "It could be a temporary problem caused by a change in humidity or other factors. In such cases, the light should go off by itself after a short time." Even if there is a legitimate problem, 95% of the time it is only a O2 sensor (part of the emissions system, monitoring and helping adjust the air-fuel mixture) Loose gas cap, Mass air flow sensor (monitoring the amount of air mixed in the fuel injection system). In a worse case scenario IF the check engine light starts to flash on and off constantly you will want to immediately take it to a shop. In all likelihood it will only need a Catalytic converter or new Spark plug wires. At the time or our inspection ALL CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ISSUES WILL BE FIXED (unless noted in the video) . However, we CANNOT warranty check engine lights. We do a once a week re-inspection of each vehicle on our lot. Often during those re-inspections we find new check engine lights that have come on. 99% of the time it is a VAPOR GLITCH. We have often seen vehicles that have never had a vapor glitch sit on our lot for 2 or 3 months, only to have the vapor glitch come during the buyers test drive or soon after. Since we do not have a crystal ball, we cannot guarantee this will not happen. If we are doing a delivery, and during the course of the delivery the light comes on, you cannot reject the vehicle. Please remember we do our best to provide a quality USED VEHICLE. But at the end of the day, it is a used vehicle. #5. Unless otherwise noted, all of our vehicles come with tires that passed the Certified Inspection. New tires come with 10/32s of tread depth. We fail tires below 4/32s. Tires may loose pressure due to aluminim or chrome wheels. These type of wheels need to be driven consitanty or they will slowly loose air. We try to check each one weekly. In some cases if the tire pressure got below the minimum, the sensor will send a single to the computer to kick the light on. Even after you put air back in the tire, it still may not reset the light until it is driven so many miles or so many times. In some cases the sensors need replaced, in other situations they just need driven daily for a few days. In the past we would replace them. But we have learned that it is a constant rabbit trail because the cars are designed to be used daily. The best solution is to drive the vehicle daily and wait if the light comes off. Most sensors are $35-$65. In order to keep our customers happy with their transaction we have learned that it is better to NOT guarantee that tire pressure lights are on. Steve Mazor, the Auto Club of Southern California's chief automotive engineer, says that while some people freak out when they see the Check Engine light," Its important to note that Check engine lights are primarily emissions based lights. They are different from more important lights like "Engine Oil Pressure Warning Light" or "Engine Temperature Warning Light". Service Engine soon or "Check Engine" If the light comes on, Mazor says the driver should first see if the gas cap is loose: That's a common cause. A loose cap sends an error message to the car's computer, reporting a leak in the vapor recovery system, which is one aspect of a car's emissions system. If the gas cap is loose, tighten it and continue driving. Even so, it will take some time for the light to go off, he says. Other times the Check Engine light will come on if you fuel the vehicle while running the car. Many people do this in the heat of the summer, or the cold of the winter. This is called a "VAPOR GLITCH. This will kick on the light since it will allow more oxygen in the system than what is normal. Thus the computer will think there is a vapor leak. Furthermore, if you top off the gas, you may inadvertantly cause to much gas in the gas tank baffle system, thus kicking on the vapor light. Mazor says that even an inexpensive code reader could be useful for car owners, even if they aren't mechanically inclined, because the majority of the time the lights come on, they are temporary glitches in the system due to the above mentioned reasons. A $20 scanner can be used to clear the code and is much cheaper than paying a shop $80 for nothing. Some people insist on paying a shop to read the signal codes. Please remember you will often get whats called "Mixed Signals" in the automotive repair industry. Because even after you have paid $80 to get the code from the mechanic, the code and its meaning are often open to interpretation. This is where many shops make lots of money charging customers to repair seniors or hoses that in nor way needed replaced. Many shops would rather make money on the labour and parts to ensure you will not have to come back, than to clear the code, even when they know in all likelihood it was a "vapor glitch". For example: If a vehicle sits on our lot, and is not driven daily for 2 months, certain carbons will build up in the exhaust. If you then come and buy that same vehicle and drive it back to your state at 70mph for 10 hours straight, you very well may kick on a check engine light since the seniors will be getting signals of too much carbon build up. THEREFORE IT IS VERY COMMON that a Check Engine light comes on when nothing is wrong with the car, Mazor says. "It could be a temporary problem caused by a change in humidity or other factors. In such cases, the light should go off by itself after a short time." Even if there is a legitimate problem, 95% of the time it is only a O2 sensor (part of the emissions system, monitoring and helping adjust the air-fuel mixture) Loose gas cap, Mass air flow sensor (monitoring the amount of air mixed in the fuel injection system). In a worse case scenario IF the check engine light starts to flash on and off constantly you will want to immediately take it to a shop. In all likelihood it will only need a Catalytic converter or new Spark plug wires. At the time or our inspection ALL CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ISSUES WILL BE FIXED (unless noted in the video) . However, we CANNOT warranty check engine lights. We do a once a week re-inspection of each vehicle on our lot. Often during those re-inspections we find new check engine lights that have come on. 99% of the time it is a VAPOR GLITCH. We have often seen vehicles that have never had a vapor glitch sit on our lot for 2 or 3 months, only to have the vapor glitch come during the buyers test drive or soon after. Since we do not have a crystal ball, we cannot guarantee this will not happen. If we are doing a delivery, and during the course of the delivery the light comes on, you cannot reject the vehicle. Please remember we do our best to provide a quality USED VEHICLE. But at the end of the day, it is a used vehicle. #5. Unless otherwise noted, all of our vehicles come with tires that passed the Certified Inspection. New tires come with 10/32s of tread depth. We fail tires below 4/32s. If that is the case we will note it in the video or in the description section that "vehicle will need tires ASAP". Sometimes tires are close to 4/32s. ANY VEHICLE WITH TIRES BETWEEN 4/32s AND 7/32s WILL BE PRICED $500 LOWER TO GIVE YOU MONEY TO PURCHASE NEW ONES WITHIN THE FIRST FEW MONTHS OR MILES DRIVEN,DEPENDING ON HOW MANY MILES YOU DRIVE PER MONTH. All aftermarket parts, such as keyless remotes, remote car starters, alarm systems, DVD players, car stereos, so on, will in no way be guaranteed or under any kind of warranty. In some cases if the tire pressure got below the minimum, the sensor will send a single to the computer to kick the light on. Even after you put air back in the tire, it still may not reset the light until it is driven so many miles or so many times. In some cases the sensors need replaced, in other situations they just need driven daily for a few days. In the past we would replace them. But we have learned that it is a constant rabbit trail because the cars are designed to be used daily. The best solution is to drive the vehicle daily and wait if the light comes off. Most sensors are $35-$65. In order to keep our customers happy with their transaction we have learned that it is better to NOT guarantee that tire pressure lights are on. So when buying are car off of us please understand that we do not gurantee TPS lights to not be on the day of or within a few days after the sale.
