In November of 2014, I was shopping for a Tesla. I liked the car but when I compared it to the S8 for same price, it wasn't close. I have lived with the Audi for almost two years and it has been everything a 120,000 dollar car should be. Reliable, comfortable, special and fast (boy is it fast and still gets 20mpg, amazing). Alas, I have become an empty nester and will be moving out of my house with a six car garage. I must therefore shed some autos. After great deliberation, I have decided to keep my 2011 ford EcoBoost Titanium Flex, 1989 porsche carrera, 2007 porsche turbo and sell my M6 and S8. The M6 was sold and now I must part with my S8. I think financially it is the right thing to do and frankly the one negative of this car, a weirdly small trunk, keeps it from being the family truckster. So having eaten the two worst years of depreciation, I went to my Audi dealer expecting to get some love. There was no love. Business is business. Obviously, I can wholesale the car to them for 75,500,but I see no reason that they should make a huge profit twice on this car. I would rather keep some of the "profit" myself and pass the savings on to a savvy shopper of fine cars. I expect the buyer of this car to know the car well and be prepared to buy new, but decides to save the 30-35K and drive away with a "new" car with 14K miles, and more than two years of existing warranty, paid maintenance, and paid internet service. I wish this was me on the other end. Oh well, I have no complaints and would be happy to see another car lover enjoy the new star of the Transporter movie franchise. As full disclosure my car does not fly and will be dented if in an accident. Of course the car fax is clean and the car has never seen any kind of accident. The only signs of use are in three of four wheels with minor (a few inches) of curb rash, and a less then dime rub on passenger door. I have taken photos of these areas. Naturally, all keys come with the car as do all service records,manuals, window sticker, etc. DON'T EVEN ASK IF I SMOKE. The car has never been smoked or eaten in. Smells Like new. If you knew me you would expect no less. I wouldn't. So if you like cars and are shopping for an S8, then consider this option. A like new car with full warranty/maintenance plus pocketing the difference, at least 30K before taxes, so closer to 40K.
