2005 Saab 9-2x Aero Outlaw Towing is proud to offer a 2005 Saab 9-2x Aero up for sale! For those of you that aren't familiar with the 9-2x it's a rebranded Subaru Wrx. It's an all wheel drive vehicle great all year round and especially in the snow. This vehicle has 150k on the body and 104k on the motor and transmission. Clean green Michigan title. When the vehicle was originally purchased the vehicle it needed an engine. We ended up sourcing a lower mileage ej20 with transmission (automatic) and had that swapped into it. No unusual noises, leaks, oil/coolant consumption issues, ect. The turbo spools great and it goes into boost very smoothly. Overall the car is in fantastic shape, it runs amazing, 100% stock except for a turbo back exhaust. In the past couple thousand miles we've replaced the following on it.- Bridestone Driveguard tires with 4K miles.- Powerstop drilled and slotted rotors with pads with 2k miles.- New front axles (driver and passenger).- Urethane differential bushings and real differential seals- Moog inner/outer tie rods with 2k miles. -Timing belt replacement with 4k miles.- Recent coolant flush, oil change, and spark plugs. - All the other maintenance is up to date on the car also. The exterior of the car is in great shape, no major rusting issues, dents or chips. The headlights/fog lights are in great shape no hazing ect. The car is in great shape for a 10 year old car, cleans up very nicely and still gets compliments. It does have a little bit of rust starting at the top of the windshield and the driver side rear quarter very minor (see pictures). The car also has a few spots that the previous owner "fixed" using touch up paint (again see pictures). I'd rate it a 8/10. The interior is next to mint, we've seen these cars with horrible torn/dirty seats. These are pretty close to factory condition, no cigarette burns, stains, unusual odors, ect. They are also the factory heated seats. It does have an aftermarket head unit with new kicker door speakers all the way around (sounds excellent). It has the 5-speed. Underneath the Saab badging is a Subaru Impreza with the 2.5 liter Subaru engine that came standard on the car. It’s all-original and it runs great. More on the condition below……. What’s the Story? : This is my dad’s 2005 Saab 92x. He asked me to sell it for him on eBay, after he got his new (used) AWD sedan a few weeks ago. My father is 83 years young, so he has not driven this Saab all that much since he bought it in 2013. The car has been trouble free for that time, and comes in handy during the occasional snow storms and sloppy road conditions that can occur in central Colorado. My dad lives at about 6100 in elevation so an AWD vehicle is needed a few times during the year. The car’s AWD system is considered to be the best system out there, for every-day driving. Condition: This car can be considered a “second car” for my father. He used it on occasion, in sloppy road conditions. As such, he has not put that many miles on the car in the 2 years that he has owned it. The car is fully functional and everything works on the car as it should. The AWD system works great as does the clutch / transmission. The car does not use any oil between changes, not does it smoke. The tires are ok (see pics) and the car brakes wonderfully. The car is easy to drive with nice steering and tracks down the highway great. I recently took this car up to Salida, Colorado (from Canon City) as it was an absolute pleasure to drive. The AC worked great too. I would not hesitate to drive this car cross country. It’s that solid. Cosmetically, the car is in very good shape, but not perfect. The seats are not torn or ripped (nor even worn all that much). The headliner is in good shape, but could be cleaned. The rubber floormats could use a cleaning too. The original paint has some scratches and the body has a few very small dents. I have tried to capture the worst of these blemishes in the pictures. The car is perfectly presentable……..just not new or perfect. See pictures. Mechanically, the car has had a new timing belt installed (110k miles, I believe) and runs just great. Power is excellent for a 2.5 liter, AWD car. The engine compartment could use a good steam-cleaning, though. Again, no mechanical issues that I am aware of – and I just drove it about 150 miles. The tires are just fine and have many miles left on them. A new clutch was installed about 18 months ago. It shifts great. Clean title, great condition 2005 Saab 9-2X Linear 2.5 Automatic. This car is produced by Fuji Heavy Industries (Subaru) for Saab. The car was produced in Japan by GM and Fuji Heavy Industries when GM owned both Saab and 20% of Subaru. All of the engine parts are the same as the Subaru Impreza wagon but the body is of a Saab. The car features AWD. I am the original owner of this vehicle. Everything is clean and the car is well maintained. I just had a 60,000 mile check up and had everything checked and replaced if necessary. I just bought new all season Michelin tires from Costco last year. I'm selling my 2005 Saab 9-2x Aero, it's a very fast and reliable car. With the ej20 Subaru WRX engine and all wheel drive, it's a great car for commuting anytime of year. I've never had any problems with it not starting.Check engine light is on due to a code for an evaporative system sensor that is no longer hooked up, my mechanic says that it will not effect the car in any way.The car is Mechanically sound, with some body damage here and there as the car is 10 years old. The front bumper is cracked a little due to sliding into a snow bank last winter. It has some minor hail damage. The interior is super clean! I never leave trash or food in my car, never let the dust build up, two toned leather interior with heated seats.I've had the car since August of 2013. I had some repairs done on the car, including some after market parts. It has a 3" Cobb Exhaust from the turbo all the way out the back, I have an Accessport and I tuned the ECU to Stage 2 with 93 Octane. Everything can be tuned back to stock, or 91 octane, and I still have the stock exhaust. The car is currently putting out 280 horse power. Hugs the road like a dream, and when you want to go just down shift and go! Five speed manual super fun car to drive! I have a set of summer tires that are Hankook Ventus V12 evo2 (Max Performance tires) I got them in June of 2014, so I would say they have only 5000 miles on them.I also have a set of Dunlop Winter Maxx snow tires, I did a decent amount of research on snow tires and these are the ones that seemed the best. I got them September 2014, so they only have probably have 3000 miles on them.
