Topping all of this off, it is ALL WHEEL DRIVE (AWD). Don’t be confused between the XC70 and the V70. Only the XC70 is all-wheel-drive. This vehicle came available and we grabbed it immediately. This vehicle is very clean and cared for. But, of course, you expect vehicles this nice from Grove Automotive Group, Inc.! Options: Finished in silver/green and mocha leather interior, this VERY CLEAN 2005 Volvo XC70 AWD features about everything that you expect in this Swedish luxury wagon beginning with the smooth and responsive 2.5 L DOHC 5-cylinder turbo teamed with the 5-speed automatic Asin-Warner (AW55) transaxle, driver, passenger, side and roof SRS (air bags), electronically controlled ALL WHEEL DRIVE (AWD), automatic climate control featuring a factory R134a refrigerant charge, 4-wheel ABS (anti-lock brakes), Volvo’s own SIPS (Side Impact Protection System), factory sunroof, power windows, central locking system, power mirrors, power seats, factory alloy wheels, factory sound system, 4-wheel disc brakes, cruise control, rear window defroster, folding rear seats, integrated rear child seat, driver’s information center, service reminder system, factory security system, and much more! Yet ANOTHER Clean Southern Ride! This vehicle is riding on a very good set of tires. Service and Inspection Report – Value Added: We brought this clean Volvo in for service and found that the prior owner had taken great care of the car. It appears to have been regularly serviced. Since we could not verify the mileage for the last timing belt, we did the service. Doing the job right, we installed NEW CAM SEALS, NEW VVT O-RINGS, NEW TIMING BELT, tensioner and idler wheel. When we do timing belts, we replace the spark plugs and we installed a new set of Denso® brand plugs. That’s a major service and it’s done for you! Using our Snap-On Solus® diagnostic scanner, we noticed some shift solenoid codes which are common on the AW-55 transmission. What happens is that the electronic shift solenoids stick and the shift quality is not as good as when new. However, the transmissions in these vehicles can go a long time with service. So, we replaced the electronic shift solenoids in the valve body and did a complete transmission fluid change using the correct Mobile 3309 fluid. This procedure took care of the codes, and now shifts as designed. Test driving the vehicle after the transmission service, we noticed a slight vibration at highway speeds under load. That’s a sign of the drive axle needing service, so we replaced both front drive axles with remanufactured units. No more vibration! While changing the drive axles, we changed the top engine mount as well as the lower right. Over time both are about ready for change at this mileage and we did both of them for you. The prior owner had recently done an oil change and the service label indicates that the next oil change is at 149k miles. On the chassis, we noted a noise from the front suspension and traced it down to the coil spring mount. We pulled both struts and replaced the mounts and bearings for you – no more noise. While we had the vehicle apart for service, we noted that the vehicle had close to new brakes, front and rear. Moving along the outside of the vehicle, we installed new wiper blades, front and rear. As we drove the vehicle, the climate control worked fine but we heard the occasional chirp noise from the blower motor. So, yes we did, we replaced the blower motor so that you wouldn’t have to be bothered by the job. We finished up this vehicle be changing the cabin air filter. It is a job that you want done every year and we’ve taken care of that for you. Shop around and then ADD IT UP! Why buy one that needs work? How much will that cost you in addition to the car itself? The items that we serviced would easily cost you $4,500 if you did all of this after the sale. You can always pay less. Just click the “back” button and buy something else? Service and Inspection Report: We brought this very clean Volvo in for service and didn’t find a lot to do. The prior owner had taken very good care of the vehicle and the paint, interior and vehicle show very well. For starters, we did an oil/filter change using the correct Volvo sealing washer on the drain plug, along with a new engine cap oil seal. Volvo makes the maintenance very inexpensive on these vehicles by specifying convention oil. While we had the oil out, we noticed that the dipstick end was a little brittle so we installed an new engine oil dipstick. We also installed a new timing belt, seals, tensioner and idler so that you know that’s done. We install new spark plugs when we do timing belts. We use Denso® brand plugs which are original equipment on most Volvos. Moving along to the chassis, we found the brakes good, both front and rear. Turning out attention to the climate control, we checked the system and it operates as designed. We installed a new cabin air filter for you. Going around the vehicle, we replaced the LH lower tail light as it had a small crack and also installed new headlight wiper blades. Finishing up, we installed new wiper blades, front and rear. Shop around and then ADD IT UP! Why buy one that needs work? How much will that cost you in addition to the car itself? We did a few things to make the car “just right”. For starters, we did an oil/filter change, installing a correct aluminum sealing washer on the drain plug. We also installed a new seal on the oil cap since the original had become hard and brittle. Volvo allows you to service the seal separately from the cap. Using our Snap-On Solus® diagnostic scanner, we noticed some shift solenoid codes which are common on the early AW-55 transmission. What happens is that the electronic shift solenoids stick and the shift quality is not as good as when new. However, the transmissions in these vehicles can go a long time with service. So, we replaced the electronic shift solenoids in the valve body and did a complete transmission fluid change using the correct Mobile 3309 fluid. This procedure took care of the codes, and now shifts as designed. While under the vehicle, we noticed that one of the motor mounts was soft so we replaced it. Most dealers would have “let ‘er go” but we don’t mind doing a little extra so you don’t have to. Finishing up under the hood, we checked the air filter and vacuumed out the air intake box. Those tend to accumulate debris like leaves and sand, so we cleaned that out for you. Looking over the chassis, the brakes looked good, both front and rear. Going over the climate control system, everything seemed to be in good order. We changed the cabin air filter for you. Finishing up, we installed new wiper blades, front and rear. These are also known as “Cross Country” wagons. Roomy and comfortable, this vehicle is equipped with the highly sought 2.4 L DOHC 5-cylinder turbo teamed with the 5-speed automatic Asin-Warner (AW55) transaxle. Topping all of this off, it is ALL WHEEL DRIVE (AWD). Don’t be confused between the XC70 and the V70. Only the XC70 is all-wheel-drive. This vehicle came available and we purchased it. This vehicle is very clean and cared for. But, of course, you expect vehicles this nice from Grove Automotive Group, Inc.! Options: Finished in burgundy with a tan colored upholstery, this CLEAN 2002 Volvo XC70 AWD features about everything that you expect in this Swedish luxury wagon beginning with the smooth and responsive 2.4 L DOHC 5-cylinder turbo teamed with the 5-speed automatic Asin-Warner (AW55) transaxle, driver, passenger, side and roof SRS (air bags), electronically controlled ALL WHEEL DRIVE (AWD), automatic climate control featuring a factory R134a refrigerant charge, 4-wheel ABS (anti-lock brakes), Volvo’s own SIPS (Side Impact Protection System), factory sunroof, power windows, central locking system, power mirrors, power seats, factory alloy wheels, factory sound system, 4-wheel disc brakes, cruise control, rear window defroster, folding rear seats, driver’s information center, service reminder system, factory security system, and much more! Yet ANOTHER Clean Southern Ride! This vehicle is riding on a BRAND NEW set of Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring™ tires! Service and Inspection Report: We brought this nice XC70 in for service and found things in very good order. There were a few things in need of attention to bring it up to our standards. For starters, we did an oil/filter change, installing a correct aluminum sealing washer on the drain plug. We also installed a new seal on the oil cap since the original had become hard and brittle. Volvo allows you to service the seal separately from the cap. Continuing under the hood, we decided to install a NEW TIMING BELT that included belt, tensioner and idler pulley. We couldn’t determine if the belt had been changed, so, as usual, we installed a new one for you. We always replace spark plugs using Denso™ brand when doing timing belts on Volvo vehicles and those are new, as well. While servicing the timing belt, we noted that the lower outer motor mount was in need of replacement so we installed a new one. Those mounts are typically good for 10 years or so and rather than “let ‘er go” like most dealers, we put the new part in for you. Using our Snap-On Solus® diagnostic scanner, we noticed some shift solenoid codes which are common on the early AW-55 transmission. What happens is that the electronic shift solenoids stick and the shift quality is not as good as when new. However, the transmissions in these vehicles can go a long time with service. So, we replaced the electronic shift solenoids in the valve body and did a complete transmission fluid change using the correct Mobile 3309 fluid. This procedure took care of the codes, and now shifts as designed. Finishing up under the hood, we installed new hood lift struts since those kept the hood open, but in cold weather we had our doubts. Also, we inspected the air filter and vacuumed out the air intake box. Those tend to accumulate debris like leaves and sand, so we cleaned that out for you. Looking over the chassis, the brakes looked good, both front and rear. We did notice some noise coming from the suspension so we installed new upper strut mounts, spring seat isolators and sway bar bushings. Now, it is very tight. Going over the climate control system, everything seemed to be in good order. We changed the cabin air filter for you. Finishing up, we installed new wiper blades, front and rear. Shop around and then ADD IT UP! Why buy one that needs work? How much will that cost you in addition to the car itself? The service reminder showed that the oil service was recent and everything else seemed to be in very good order. Our scanner showed a fault code for the electronic throttle body. Although the vehicle drove fine, we decided to have the electronic throttle body replaced by our local Volvo dealer. While they were in there, one of the turbo boost hoses needed replacing so we serviced that, as well.
