I purchased this two-owner vehicle June last year at a Audi dealership because it was exceptionally clean inside out. The car is never smoked in and pets free. I thought that I was going to own this beautiful car forever so I performed the following list of cost-no-objective maintenance and upgrades during the past year: Mechanical: 1. Replaced timing belt, serpentine belt, water pump, seals, gaskets, idle pulley and idle roller. Flushed and refilled coolant. 2. Replaced entire PCV system (New OEM Volvo parts: oil trap, 3 hoses, 1 tube and gasket). Mechanic cleaned the intake manifold for internal carbon built up. 3. Replaced all four sides brake pads and rotors. Flushed and refilled brake fluid. Brake pedal feel is firm and supple. No vibration under heavy braking. 4. Replaced front shocks, springs, sway bar links, ball joints, left outer tie rod and right CV axle (Volvo OEM part from a 2009 S60). No unwanted undercarriage noise at any speed. Steering response is sharp and precise. 5. Replaced transmission torque mount, upper engine mount, strut brace mounts, steering limiter (OEM Hutchinson parts). 6. Flushed and refilled power steering fluid. 7. Flushed and refilled transmission fluid three times (3.5qt each time). Shifting is crisp with no clunk and delay in engagement. 8. Always service with Mobil 1 0W40 fully synthetic oil. 9. Last alignment and wheels balancing done in late October. Electrical: 1. Replaced oxygen sensor. 2. Replaced camshaft sensor. 3. Replaced CVVT turbo solenoid valve. 4. Replaced with NGK iridium spark plugs. 5. Previous owner replaced the throttle body in 2010 under Volvo extended warranty. The electronic throttle module and transmission control module were upgraded. Cosmetic: 1. Paint is in excellent condition. Hand wax every 3 months. The second picture shows water forming into beads after raining. 2. Water repellent treatment on all exterior glass every 6 months. 3. Leather treatment every 6 months. Upgrades: 1. HU-803 head unit, center speaker, Volvo OEM premium sound amplifier under passenger seat, Volvo OEM subwoofer hidden in the trunk. These were transplanted from a V70R. Aftermarket auxiliary input and mp3 decoder is added to the system. 2. Steering wheel and speedometer were transplanted from a V70R. 3. 9 months old Volvo OEM roof cargo box with 2 keys and Volvo OEM crossbars. Items that require attention: 1. Front tires 50-60%, rear left 80-90% and rear right 30-40%. 2. Check engine light illuminated for small evap leak. Mechanic reset the ECU but message came back after a few days. We tried but could not identify the source of the small leak. 3. Engine System Service Required message illuminates once in a while and goes away by itself. SRS airbag light is on but it can be reset at the dealer. 4. Items 2 and 3 do not interfere in everyday driving. The car passed MD state safety inspection and emissions testing. 5. Small crack in the corner of the rear left bumper. Tiny hole in the bonnet. A couple of chips and scratches consistent with use. 6. CD stuck in head unit. 7. Blower motor occasionally makes squealing noise at low fan speed during winter. 8. Others that I may not have noticed. My asking price is very modest given the amount of parts and labor already invested in the car. I believe that with proper scheduled maintenance, the car will be good to go for another ten years. 2004 V70R Titanium Gray w/ Gobi interior 160k Miles, 2 owners Selling my 2004 V70R. It is a rare six speed manual transmission with 160k Miles. It has only had 2 Owners. Almost all maintenance records since new are available. It is equipped with the cold weather package, the HU-805 stereo, rear facing seats, and built in boosters. It has always been garaged and the paint is in excellent shape. Always dealer maintained by Volvo of Princeton until 100k and then independent mechanic maintained regularly since then by a trusted mechanic. The interior shows normal wear for the Gobi leather interior, but is soft and there are no rips or tears in the leather. Everything is working well, including the entire drivetrain, clutch, gearbox, engine, and accessories such as air conditioning, heat, heated seats, dual power seats, and other associated accessories. There are a couple of exceptions to this. The only major one being that the Chassis Settings Service light is on. I had Volvo run the codes, and this CSS is due to the rear driver's strut leaking as well as an intermittent fault (not active) on the front driver's strut sensor. The struts are the original ones from new, so they are due for replacement. There are no strange clunking noises nor any particular harshness in the suspension. Also, the rear window wiper motor makes noise when turned on, but does not wipe the glass. I was told by a Volvo technician it will need a new motor. Those are the downsides. On the upside, a lot of major maintenance has been done. The timing belt was just done in November, as well as the serpentine belt, all with Volvo parts. The clutch was replaced at 100k. The AWD system was serviced at 115k with a new collar and angle gear. The rear tires are new and the front tires are not very old and have plenty of life. They are all Michelin Pilot Sport AS/3s. If I were keeping it, I would doing the PCV service and associated items ($500-800, depending on where you take it), and update the worn suspension parts. Otherwise it drives wonderfully. It has been garage kept, however it does have a few dings on the rear bumper from parallel parking when visiting the city, as well as curb marks on the wheels. There is some slight cracking of the paint on the bottom of the front bumper lower fairing. All are visible in the photos, and nothing really needs attention cosmetically. It had some light cosmetic paintwork done to the front due to a fender bender back in 2005, but everything looks great and is holding up as well as the rest of the paint. I am selling because I just found out I am starting a new job in LA in January and will be moving to California in early January. I currently have an offer from a buyer in Atlanta for $5000, which is very cheap but he wants me to deliver it. I would prefer someone who can come pick it up or is willing to have it shipped, as delivering a car 500 miles is too much for me to deal with as well as organizing my move. I'm happy to take it to our local Volvo Specialist (Scandinavian Imports) or the dealership for a PPI at the buyer's expense. Vehicle is sold as-is where-is, but I can help coordinate if you choose to have it transported, as I have dealt with shipping my cars a few times now. I have uploaded some photos below.
