I HAD BOUGHT IT KNOWING AS A DEALER I COULD BUY THE TRANSMISSION AT DEALER PRICE. I PURCHASED A OEM VOLVO NEW TRANSMISSION FROM OAK PARK VOLVO NEAR CHICAGO. I HAD MY LOCAL ASE SHOP AND FRIEND INSTALL IT AT AN ADDITIONAL 1500.00. OVER THE YEARS I PUT A XEMODEX ETM AND CONSIERABLE OTHER PARTS INTO IT TIRE, AXLES, GENERATOR ETC. IT HAS MULTIPLE LIGHTS ON AS WE ARE 100 MILES FROM A VOLVO SHOP TO HAVE THEM RESET. IF YOU WANT A GOOD DAILY DRIVER , OR YOU JUST WANT IT FOR ITS 5000.00 RETAIL TRANSMISSION FOR A DO, IT YOURSELFER OR SOMEONE IN NEED OF THE TRANS AND OTHER PARTSTHIS IS THE RIGHT CAR. THE TRANS LIGHT IS ON CAUSE THE VOLVO SHOP WANTED 4000.00 TO INSTALL THE TRANS, THE AIR BAG LIGHT JUST CAME ON AND AT SOME POINT SOON IT WILL NEED THE MASTER BRAKE BOOSTER REPAIRED. THE SUN ROOF DOES NOT OPEN HOWEVER ALL THE LIGHTS, HEATED SEATS,AC , RADIO ETC WORKS. Condition: Great car in great working condition with a new oil change and a full tank of gas. Car had been garage kept with very low mileage. Body of car is in superb condition but has a few black marks on lower back left side by bumper. They are not scratches and the paint is still in tact, but they are black scuff marks. It drives great too but the Check Engine Light has been on for 1 month and the Air Conditioning/Heating Blower works off and on. I have taken it to a certified Volvo Dealer and they said it would need a catalytic converter and quoted $1500 for that work alone. I took it to another local mechanic and he said it is not the catalytic converter but that I need to change the oxygen sensors. He estimates to get the oxygen sensors replaced and also to fix the AC/Heat blower would be about $1,000-$1,200. I have the remote control for the car but it is broken. The back roller to cover the cargo in the wagon portion is there but does not work. Extra Features: I have 3 sets of Volvo keys (1 broken remote car door opener.) History: This car had been owned by an older women who kept it in the garage and only did local (with occasional) highway driving. She only had it serviced by her Volvo Dealer and washed her car faithfully every week! ) I bought the car from her last year in November when she decided she couldn't drive anymore. I have kept it in her same clean condition. The mechanic I went to said there was no rust underneath either! I would have put the money into it to fix the oxygen sensors and AC/Heater blower if I hadn't just been offered a company car. My current insurance expires at the end of the month, so I am selling this car. I feel and felt very safe in the car and always had my 2 year old aughter with me. Selling my very clean 1998 Volvo V70 XC Wagon Cross Country. Volvos are known for their reliability and safety and longevity and I honestly can say this car is a particularly nice one and well maintained by me and all the previous owners! I have a carfax from when I purchased the car 2 years ago and it shows no accidents and no negatives on the car whatsoever. I actually purchased this car from a Carmax mechanic who purchased it from them and owned it for 7 years and as many of you know Carmax only keeps the best of the best while they send the others off to the auction! It is a nice Bronze color with Tan leather interior, fully loaded with Cold A/C and good heather for winter, power windows and doors, sunroof, heated seats, headlight wipers, Am/Fm Cassette. It only has 128,849 miles and is All Wheel Drive so it is great in snow. It has the trustworthy 2.4L Turbo 5 cylinder engine which is top notch and always starts right up even in the coldest of days, but I must admit it is not particularly fast but is very safe and reliable and it would be a perfect first car for a high schoolers or college kid. This Volvo is in very good shape for its age, no rust and the paint looks good, there are a few minor door dings on the car from parking lots, and the worst ding is in the back where you can see it in the photos but it not that bad. The front and rear bumpers have little marks in various places but again not terrible, Front headlights and turn signals look new as it had a protective plastic covering which was on since new but reasonably removed because they were yellowing. The tires are only a few years old but and are in excellent condition. I have owned it for 2 years and honestly was planning on keeping it forever but I have use it so infrequently that I see no point on paying for the insurance since I have only driven it 8000 miles since purchased. The seats are in good shape with no rips or tears. All around, this car is really allot for the money being and would great in your driveway! The car has: New front brakes (rotors and pads) Battery is only 1 year old Timing Belt was replace at 102740 miles Turbo Silicone Hose kit installed Tires are fairly new with about 10000 miles on them Please check out my other items and be sure to also add me to your favorites list!
