1961 Volvo PV 544 The car runs well has lots of pep, looks good and seems to be ready to roll. The brakes are in need of attention but everything seems to work (including the AM/FM Blaupunkt radio). There is a trunk full of spares including an intake manifold and with 2 SU carbs (worth a couple hundred bucks) and all sorts of filters and wires and ignition parts. There is also the old instrument cluster that was replaced when the former owner upgraded to a 12 volt system. Also comes with a white California license plate with an April 2016 sticker and some books. Good radial tires. I’ve driven the car as far as 100 miles from home with no issues except for the serious need of new windshield wipers. Because of time issues, I haven’t done any deep investigation of the condition of the car except a magnet test on all major panels to check for wreck repair (none apparent). I drive it weekly about 25 – 50 miles for the 6 months I've had it. I put in new oil filter and oil in the last 50 miles with zink additive and use only 100% gasoline with more zinc additive (lead substitute). The car gets lots of attention everywhere I go – after not seeing one for more than 25 years, it seems "everyone" I run into had one while in high school, college or the Army. Who knew!My situation has changed and I must sell the car because I just don't have time to use it and do the jobs that need to be done on any 55 year old car. There is only one catch – If you buy my ’61 Volvo PV 544, I need to get it out of my garage by the 15th of January since I’m leaving for a 6 – 8 week trip and need the garage space for stuff I have stored around the neighborhood with friends. As a bit of information, I shipped the car from California to Tennessee for about $1,800 and will take that much of a beating if I sell the it at the listed price. I’m going out to take her for a ride RIGHT NOW …… These cars were very successful rally cars in Europe and they still have amazing handling and power for a car of that age.
