This little Volvo never once let us down....we have driven it all over the country.Its as dependable as an old car can be.If you need an economical little wagon that will get you there and back home every single time for little money...here you go.30k miles ago I personally replaced the timing belt, idler and tensioner,its integral water pump,its VVT gear and hub,turbo drain seals,both cam seals,brake pads,thermostat,front engine mount, right side strut mount and plastic bearing......it has a moonroof,hot heated seats,good hvac heat, a/c with NO refridgerant leak like most cars 15 years old....its ice cold.I installed a bicycle hitch and a 4 pin light hookup for a small utility trailer.This volvo has every option available in the v40 in 2000 except for the sport package which very few had anyway.....Interior is nice with no tears,when out dog was a puppy she knawed on some plastic in the cargo area...not bad though,I just put 4 new Goodyear Eagle RSA tires on her.She runs great and you can drive her from here in NJ to Alaska no problem. Old car things to know : as stated I replaced the right front strut mount and bearing,its making noise again only when turning to get in a parking space...common on these cars i never got to it,also common is the front stabilizer bar bushings,I've done them 2 times on her,and will need to do again,cheap and easy.car drives dead on straight but steering wheel is now at 1130 instead of 12 o'clock since new tires.Brake pads have about half life left.Check engine light will come on for VVT solenoid also quite common.I clear it and it stays off for a year and sometimes comes bacon in 2 weeks...i just clear it when it shows...its off now. Is she perfect....nope.....has only about 2 small parking lot dings,a small surface rust spot on the drivers rocker just aft of the fender.....no other rust, I keep her ready so we can go at anytime anywhere.she has all original paint except front bumper cover was repainted early in her life. she has lots of airbags including SIPS and whiplash protection. Im selling my big hemi durango and this little volvo and buying a new small audi a3 wagon.....Its what momma wants and momma gets what she wants....please no nonsense ...non refundable small deposit due at auction end or she's still for sale....Im asking reasonable money for her since she's been so good to us.....but please be real in your expectations of it.Thank you.
