Car is being relisted as winning bidder did not pay, or attempt to make any contact, Please do not bid, or send messages or generally waste time unless you are serious about buying this car!! For sale is an excellent Volvo 1800e project car. 1971 is the last year of the 1800, and the most desirable. 1971 cars came from the factory with four wheel disc brakes and Bosch fuel injection. The cars put out almost 120 horsepower in stock form and were (and still are) small and lightweight. Making them very capable sports cars. This example is currently not running as it has been sitting for five years. The engine is complete, and would be quite simple to get running again. At some point in its history, this car has been converted from fuel injection to carbureted, making it even simpler to work on. The car has been the victim of low quality body work, and as a result the paint is bubbling in several areas, and there is some rust and bondo (see pictures) and overspray in typical areas. That being said, the car is quite lovely, could be easily fixed up as a daily driver, or could receive a high quality restoration including bodywork, or it could be a donor for your other 1800 project. The interior has been reupholstered, and looks fine, however the material is not original. The 1800 sits on high quality penta alloys from a 240. I am selling the car because I have to many other projects, and do not have time for this one. Now is your chance to become the owner of a fine piece of classic Swedish machinery. Have a nice time bidding....NO RESERVE! On Sep-25-15 at 12:20:59 PDT, seller added the following information: The wheels are Virgo, not Penta, sorry On Sep-29-15 at 07:29:57 PDT, seller added the following information: In response to some questions- Transmission is 4 speed with electric overdrive, I have never driven car, but I can shift thru all the gears and the overdrive switch appears to work. Dash- has been recovered in matching blue leather like the seats, its actually done quite well( I have some other cars that I would love to have the same guy that did this car do the dashes on!), Missing lights etc- I have a box of running lights etc that came with the car, I assume its all of the missing stuff but I cant guarantee it. Headliner- is not original, its blue fabric likely done by same person that did the rest of the interior and is sagging badly , will need to be re-glued, I have not looked underneath it to see whats under. I have clear title. I bought this car with a group of 3 other 1800's, I did not do any of the work. I have never driven it. I believe that the carb is a weber 32/36, 2 barrel. I do not have the injection parts. Back when fuel injection was new many people scrapped it in favor of carbs, as we now know that was a bad idea but at the time it was very common practice. Car will roll on its own, I will need to air up the tires. Thanks for the interest
