Selling my 1993 Volvo 240 wagon. 170,000 miles, non-turbo. Clean title. Beautiful example of the best Volvo ever made, and the best year for the 240. I’ve had it for almost 9 years. I’ve maintained it meticulously and done a lot of things to make it run and look great. Price $7,500 I have loved this car and want to find a good home for it with a serious Volvo person. Selling it only because I decided to switch to an XC70. The 240 runs perfectly, recent oil/filter change, no cracks in the dash, cold AC, working power windows and door locks, AND cruise control. Regular oil/filter changes using Mann filters and Mobil 1 synthetic oil (Oild and filter changed in January at 170,000 miles). No body damage, never been in a wreck. I have records of all parts purchases and repair work since 2008 when I got the car. Overall it's in excellent running order. Here are just some of the car's features: Custom-made “VOLVO 240” logo decal on the doors on both sides. Looks very sharp, makes the car a real head-turner. I get thumbs-ups all the time, I’ve been asked many times if I want to sell the car. Tinted windows all around. E-Code headlights/turn signals. European tail light lenses. Original equipment fender-mounted turn signals. LED bulbs all around. Relocated the brake lights to the top lenses on the tail light assembly, making them much easier to see. IPD sway bars front and rear, which really improves the ride. Triple-core copper radiator for better cooling. Adjustable thermostat-controlled auxiliary radiator cooling fan. Rebuilt and re-covered driver’s seat pan, using original-equipment foam. IPD seat covers on front seats. Center armrest. Genuine Volvo 240 1-1/4 inch tow hitch, used only for hauling bicycles. New tailgate hinges and wiring. Custom 16-inch wheels with 215/55R-16XL Granada HP all-season tires installed at 157,000 miles. Alternator, belts, O2 sensor and battery replaced July/August 2016. I have a few extra parts and oil filters that will go with the car.

This wagon has been involved with my family since its very beginning, so I have done my level best to provide top mechanical care for it during my 15 years of ownership. Chances are, if you name the part, I have probably had it replaced at some point--in fact, I spent $9,000 in the last three years alone on repairs for this car! And yes, I have all maintenance records. Its longevity and endurance have shocked everyone it has met, and it has been a fantastic (almost miraculous) traveling car in spite of its advanced age. At the beginning of 2015 I put an estimated 4,000 miles of interstate driving on it in only 4 months, and that is only one of many adventures I have had with it. I have no idea how many actual miles are on it--the odometer broke years ago. The body is admittedly worn and faded, but aside from one bad fender (see included photo) it is still very clean and straight. People still ogle it and admire it when they walk past . 10 years ago I got it onto the front cover of IPD USA's magazine. Of course, being a daily driver for 36 years takes its toll on any car, and an engine/transmission rebuild as well as a new paint job were next on my checklist--at least until now. Unfortunately, I have had to rebuild my entire life this past year, and I will no longer be able to rebuild my favorite car. It currently has a transient fuel pump issue, and I believe it needs a new water pump, but I have had to let it sit for the last 4 months because my funds are now needed elsewhere. There is no foreseeable change to my financial future that will allow me the luxury of maintaining a classic car anymore. Rather than let it sit and rot in front of me I have decided it would be better to give my car a new chance with another enthusiast. Aside from the current mechanical issues this car will still run and drive well, and it cleans up beautifully (please excuse all the dusty pictures! I have had no time for detailing recently). Please do not inquire if you are looking for a parts car. This amazing car has been in my life for over 30 years, and I only want it to go to a devoted enthusiast who is looking for a restoration project--and who will love it as much as I have. I am happy to answer any questions.

I purchased this car April 17, 2015. I won it on auction on Ebay, from an Oregon State Trooper. The auction description stated as follows... I've had this car for 2 1/2 years, and have completed extensive repairs to include head gasket replacement, rebuilt head, new water pump, thermostat, hoses, belts, fuel pump, fuel pump relay, fuel filter, spark plugs and wires, engine and transmission mounts, shocks & struts, windshield wiper motor and other minor repairs/maintenance such as brakes, fluid changes, etc. New rear tires last August-2014. Odometer stopped at 221,000K and change, not sure how many actual, but she hadn't put more than 6-8K on it. It has been a solid daily driver and has been perfect for her teenage daughter. She thinks it may need a new secondary fuel pump soon, but she didn't think that it's a difficult replacement. Being sold as-is. Buyer is responsible for taxes and fees that his/her state may charge. Oregon tags are current through 8/16. Buyer responsible for delivery/pick up. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Things that I've purchased for this car, but have not been installed and will be up to the buyer to take care of. The prices next to item are the prices I paid for the item only, didn't include shipping. All items were purchased on Ebay. 1. 2 rear tail light covers-after market-$150.002. Interior passenger side knee bolster-$17.003. Center Console (between front seats-with rear ashtray)-$25.004. Center Console pocket-$15.005. Wheel covers-$35.00 (new)6. Dash Cover-$55.007. Glove Box-$30.008. Ashtray (front dash area)-$15.009. Spray paint-$3.0010. 3rd brake light (with interior cover)-$25.0011. Engine Hood Hinges-$65.00 (existing hinges are broken) Car also has a repair manual, used, but useful according to previous owner. Front car seats are worn, need seat covers. I love my car, but due to health issues, and a prolonged hospital stay, I need to sell this and get an automatic to drive. MORE PICTURES TO COME.
