1982 Volvo 242 GLT Turbo. It is a 2 door coupe. This car has the very rare B21FT 4-cylinder turbocharged engine and M46 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive (essentially a 5-speed). Options include: Working sunroof, power locks, power windows, AC. Factory intercooler and Volvo "turbo plus" kit (provides extra boost at higher RPM's). Runs and drives. This 242 has 4 fairly new tires, recent tune up including spark plugs, cap & rotor, and plug wires, air filter, fuel filter, oil change (has always had synthetic oil), and front end alignment, some suspension bushings, new muffler and tailpipe installed. Some of the upgrades include: IPD sway bars front and rear, upper and lower "GT" strut braces from IPD, and Bilstein shocks and struts. Remote oil filter kit. VDO turbo boost gauge. Newer exhaust manifold from a later Volvo B230FT. It does have some rust as can be seen in the photos. The drivers rear floor has some rust, the rockers, wheel wells, and behind the wheels have some rust as does the leading edge of the hood. All common areas. Patch panels are widely available for these. This car deserves to be restored and appreciated. The car is registered in Delaware and driven daily at the moment. It will need injector seals in the future. It runs a little rough at idle. This is a common issue on the K Jet cars, and a simple and inexpensive repair. Up for sale is my 1983 Volvo 242DL. Freshly repainted in the original Scotia Blue as of April 2015. The bumpers and trim were removed prior to being painted. It had the passenger side rocker replaced with a German part due to minor very rust. Engine is the bulletproof B23F and behind it is a smooth shifting M46 manual transmission with J type Laycock overdrive which works well. The shifter bushings are worn, but new ones are included with the sale. Runs and drives well. Unsure as to the actual mileage as I have replaced the speedometer several times in the past 12 years or so. Rare Webasto sunroof. It is said to be one of 8 built with this sunroof as a "concept" car. This was information I was given by a local Volvo dealer in 2002. It was a "special delivery" car, and lived the first part of its life in Germany. No factory AC. Has power steering. Just tuned; new plugs, cap/rotor, air filter. Turbo sways, IPD overload rear springs, Virgos, and a bunch of extra parts. Good tires. Car is in dry storage, not sitting outdoors in the weather. Very sad to sell it. Has been a part of the family on and off for a long time. I have a 1-year-old son who takes my time and attention, so the car must go. You are looking at a great looking 1986 Volvo 244GL Classic Sedan that has 140,409 miles on it. This car runs and drives GREAT! It is tight on the road and is very reliable. CarFax is PERFECT and is valued OVER RETAIL. These cars go for 5K++++. The white exterior is in decent shape and shows well. The pictures don't even do this car justice. Some very minor scratches and imperfections (see pics) It would make an excellent commuter car or personal vehicle for anyone. The tan leather interior of this Volvo is clean. It has been cleaned and there are no odors or stains. The seats are a little damaged, but overall in passable condition. They are not pictured, but I do have the ORIGINAL plastic mats (in good shape). The radio/tape works great, as well as the a/c and heat. The 2.3L Swedish motor starts right up, has plenty of power, runs and sounds great! The transmission shifts smoothly and the fluid is pink. This Volvo will drive you home wherever you need to drive. If you are looking for an economical and very functional vehicle that has a lot of life left in it: this car is for you!!!!!
