Selling my 1993 Volvo 240 wagon. 170,000 miles, non-turbo. Clean title. Beautiful example of the best Volvo ever made, and the best year for the 240. I’ve had it for almost 9 years. I’ve maintained it meticulously and done a lot of things to make it run and look great. Price $7,500 I have loved this car and want to find a good home for it with a serious Volvo person. Selling it only because I decided to switch to an XC70. The 240 runs perfectly, recent oil/filter change, no cracks in the dash, cold AC, working power windows and door locks, AND cruise control. Regular oil/filter changes using Mann filters and Mobil 1 synthetic oil (Oild and filter changed in January at 170,000 miles). No body damage, never been in a wreck. I have records of all parts purchases and repair work since 2008 when I got the car. Overall it's in excellent running order. Here are just some of the car's features: Custom-made “VOLVO 240” logo decal on the doors on both sides. Looks very sharp, makes the car a real head-turner. I get thumbs-ups all the time, I’ve been asked many times if I want to sell the car. Tinted windows all around. E-Code headlights/turn signals. European tail light lenses. Original equipment fender-mounted turn signals. LED bulbs all around. Relocated the brake lights to the top lenses on the tail light assembly, making them much easier to see. IPD sway bars front and rear, which really improves the ride. Triple-core copper radiator for better cooling. Adjustable thermostat-controlled auxiliary radiator cooling fan. Rebuilt and re-covered driver’s seat pan, using original-equipment foam. IPD seat covers on front seats. Center armrest. Genuine Volvo 240 1-1/4 inch tow hitch, used only for hauling bicycles. New tailgate hinges and wiring. Custom 16-inch wheels with 215/55R-16XL Granada HP all-season tires installed at 157,000 miles. Alternator, belts, O2 sensor and battery replaced July/August 2016. I have a few extra parts and oil filters that will go with the car.

4dajudge Store Auctiva's FREE Scrolling Gallery will enhance your listings.Well used but in very good condition for a car that's a quarter of a century old. The links below are for YouTube videos that will tell you everything I miss here... I've owned this car since Sept of 2013 and driven it a ton for all sorts of travel. I commuted to NC from NJ at least five or six times in that period, most recently about five weeks ago. I used it as regular local transport all during that time. I've driven it to NY and SC and PA and MA and other places I don't remember. I've put two new tires on eight months ago (now on the rear) the fronts are about 65% good remaining. I've replaced the alternator, valve cover gasket, ignition wires and tuned it in the last 12 months. The end of the wiring harness attaching to the alternator has been redone. The car has done more sitting than driving over the last seven months (hence why the tires on the rear still look close to new) but I've kept it up and it runs well up to 90 mph. (You are NOT allowed to ask how I know that...) Look at the pictures and the video links for complete knowledge on condition and considerations. Looks good, drives great for the age, VERY easy to maintain and that's why I own these often. (this would be my fourth) If you're looking for a Volvo 240 to restore or just kick until it gives up the ghost, there's plenty to consider in this one. I've been servicing and rebuilding diesel Mercedes of the early '80's, VW's from the 70's and Volvo's from the '90's for three decades now and I use those three platforms because they a) last forever b) are exceptional cars to restore or just drive cheaply and c) they can be deeply enjoyed at almost any level of 'running well' The mileage on this one is completely unknown to me because the odometer wasn't working when I bought it! That didn't bother me because this became one of a stable of seven cars we own for college kids and myself to 'tool around the USA' in. I can tell you that I wouldn't hesitate to drive this thing across the USA today, it runs that well. There is NO unusual oil loss or smoke from the tailpipe. (1/2qt of oil low every TEN tankfuls...MAYBE??? Really sound oil consumer.) There's AC but I've never used it. Expect a new condenser is needed but I didn't care to do. It does come on but the belts squeal too much for me to use without actually paying maintenance attention to. If I can't fix something completely I usually don't use that feature until I can. MANUAL sunroof (which I love more than anything else on this car!) but the crank needs a little 'playing with it' to work perfectly...it ALWAYS works in both directions, just needs fiddling with the crank (OR you can replace the crank mechanism...again, it didn't bother me this way.) During a 'tightening' of the speaker mount in the passenger door, the switch wiring for the front passenger window must have been jostled because it isn't working by any switch at the moment. That motor is fine, it DID work before the speaker was remounted it's just going to take removal of the door liner to find where the connection is grounding/undone. All other motors, windows that I can think of here work to my recollection. There are heated seats but a kid left those ON one day last winter and it drained the battery to zero on a sub-20 degree day. I removed the fuse for that circuit once, replaced it to find that they were left on once in the summer and have since removed it on a permanent basis. Those should come right back when the fuse is replaced but...and this probably should go as a 'caveat emptor' statement for the entire car...you are buying a Volvo that is 25 years old. If you know these cars, you know the quality of this example just from the photos and videos. If you are expecting new or "nothing needed to make it as good as new" please do us both a favor and skip this auction altogether. This car was listed a few months ago and the high bidder 'disappeared' so I just kept it and made it run even better for a few more months. See the pictures, see the video. Ask questions if there's more you need to know. I will take PAYPAL if you need to make the "holding deposit" (50% of total cost) in the first 48 hours without picking up in person. If you pay the 50% immediately, I'll hold it for up to 10 days. IF YOU PAY FOR THE WHOLE CAR VIA PAYPAL I'M GOING TO ADD 4% TO THE TOTAL FOR THEIR FEES. (It stinks that they charge what they do but they're the only game -- can you say "monopoly" -- in town via Ebay these days.) IF YOU BID, WIN and DON'T PAY it will end badly for you...very, very badly. I've seen to that before and I kinda like doing it. I see it as a service to protecting others from lousy bidders in cyberspace. Don't bid if you don't already have the cash in your pocket. Just don't do it! If you show up inside of 48 hours from the close of auction (or send your shipper inside that window and pay fully prior to them arriving) I'll just charge you the close price and the handling fee listed below ($25 to help cover the listing fees on Ebay) There's my 'usual disclaimer' below but you already have all the information you need on this one...if you're looking for a good used car that repairs cheap and easy OR you're looking for a place to start a 240 restoration, just press 'buy it now' or make an offer. If you own it, you'll consider yourself lucky. I always have. First video : https://youtu.be/rkukkUIKeZY Second video : https://youtu.be/oX82rEOoksc Third video : https://youtu.be/4s_jmslwEOg Night video : https://youtu.be/yLlLL26OBD0 and here's a video from the first listing a few months ago... https://youtu.be/Zb2yB1IbDhg Do not pay before receiving the invoice! We accept Paypal (and cash in person) from EVERYONE. Due to Ebay restrictions, only PAYPAL. (a few greedy folks have ruined that for all the others...) Enjoy the auction! please do note: I have been selling on Ebay for over twenty years. Yes, since the very beginning. This is my third seller I.D. (due to security breaches each and every time...) and my ex-wife is still selling on one of my previous ebay accounts where we had over 3000 feedbacks alone! I have THOUSANDS of satisfied customers but you MUST know... * I save time by using beautiful, crisp, hi-res photos. ** I will describe any damage or noteworthy issues as best as I can immediately upon noting any issue. AND-- ***We don't clean or try to 'doctor' any item. I have actually been berated (very early in my 'ebay career') for "ruining the patina" on a 100 year old lamp that I lightly wiped down before shipping it. How I find an item is how you will receive it. If it has indications of age, whether that be tarnish-rust-corrosion-or mold blooms, you will receive it exactly that way in order for you to do as you wish from that point. THIS INCLUDES VEHICLES FROM MY GARAGE! With the exception of some new items I sell which I have purchased for myself and later found I wouldn't or couldn't use, ALL of my items are old. Those old items are from sales where almost everything being sold has long since been out of production or they have thought up another 40 (or 400) improvements since the item was originally sold. If you're like me, that may be exactly WHY you are looking for the older version (or even the 'original' version) of something. They usually work better AND are easier to fix and keep working longer! My house runs (and runs well) on all sorts of those items and I can understand anyone's melancholy over the loss of the era when things were manufactured to last and NOT be discarded for the replacement (because they were designed to die and others be sold to you inside of five years from buying the first... whatever!) ****ALL of my items are listed on multiple local boards and locations, I reserve the right to end an auction on any item prior to the closing time due to local sale. AS TO SHIPPING---THIS IS A VEHICLE AUCTION. WE DO NOT SHIP CARS OR MOTORCYCLES. YOU PICK UP AND DO SO INSIDE OF A WEEK AFTER PAYING...and you PAY INSIDE OF 48 HOURS FROM CLOSE. Finally--- I sell because I have relations with SEVEN very bright kids all getting very expensive educations! Don't bid expecting to 'renegotiate' a final price once you get the item. As I have said, I have been doing this for a very long time. You will ship the item (every piece) back (on your dime) and get a full refund (item costs-NOT shippings) if there is something unsatisfactory to you on arrival of the item. That's how the big stores do it, that's how I do it. You can't pull something I haven't already seen (or heard of) on Ebay before now. I'm honest, my items are the 'real deal' and my customers appreciate both my frank, straightforward nature and my dependability. In short, I treat my customers like I like to be treated by all people who try to sell ME anything, well. All the best to each of you in your bidding and your futures. JD

A great car and a great value. This is the last year of the 240 model in a desirable color combination. Very reliable transportation. Many repairs and replacements have been done recently, including:Water pump, Belts, Alternator and Serpentine Belt, Trans Motor Mounts, Shift Bucket Parts, Rotor and Wires, Main Seal Repair, Front Brake Rotors, Front Ball Joints, Shocks and Struts, Generator, and more. Interior is pristine except for a few small holes in the upholstery (see photos). AC/Radio in good working order. All repair documents available from when the car was new. Issues: - Odometer works occasionally. Checking the repair records, my guess is the car has approx. 185k miles. - Rust on driver-side doors. Unfortunate. See photos.- Small scratches and scuffs on trunk and roof.- Front Fender is missing bracket. - 1/4" rust spot on hood.- Chipped hubcap. Located in suburbs of Columbus, Ohio.

I purchased this Volvo 240 Classic wagon from a slimy used car salesman on Long Island named Hesham in March 2013. If you ever have contact with him, you should run the other way quickly. Long story short, he misrepresented many aspects but I could not walk away from this special vehicle. Benefits #697 of the final 1600 Classic Edition 240's off the production line in 1993. Most of every common repair job has been completed by a highly qualified local Volvo mechanic in the last 2.5 years. See list below. This is the famous bulletproof cast iron B230 engine. Just change the fluids and an occasional timing belt (recently done). It's -20degrees outside? Cranks right over for you with a blast furnace heater following 2 minutes later. A/C works well too. A complete tank in the snow & bad weather. Front OEM sway bar. Exceptionally stable for a rear wheel drive in all conditions and absolutely more stable than a SUV or Pickup when it gets messy. Parallel park on a dime with it's ridiculous turning radius. Heated seats & power mirrors, Legal tinted rear windows. Aftermarket undercoating. Remarkable cargo space. A lot more room for storage than most SUV's. I drove a new dishwasher home from Lowes without a problem. Just lay down the back seats and throw it in there. Did I mention SAFE? How's the safest car ever built in it's class? Yes, ever. All '93 240's have drivers air bags also. I would (and did) drive this car anywhere fearlessly. It is made to go there and bring you back again. Festival tested, zombie resistant, apocalypse ready. Character Flaws No high beam. Low beam only. It never bothered me. Issue is in the column stalk. Easy swap. Temp gauge does not work. Fuel gauge works most of the time. I just set the trip odometer and fill every 250miles Dash service light comes on after each ignition. Stays on for about 45seconds than always turns off. I could never find what this issue was. Diagnostics have been run multiple times without throwing any codes. Who knows. Dash Light Bulb Out indicator light comes on when you press the brake sometimes. This is a bug I didn't have time to chase much. It's occasional and only affects the right rear fog light. So I just left the rear fogs turned off, no biggie. Radio not hooked up. It was my next job on the list. All of the door speakers look to be in great shape though. Driver seat has typical small tears in the vinyl, passenger does not. Both have comfortable aftermarket canvas seat covers snugly over top. Driver side fender has a dent and shows some rust near the mud flap area. An old fender bender accident repair job was shoddy at best. To repair it properly, it would need a replacement fender. Can be found on eBay +/-$300 No clear coat failure or any other body issues but there are various dings, small scratches and typical "character flaws" of a 200k vehicle. I did my best to show in the pictures. Call me crazy but I fixed the broken odometer and rolled it forward to it's more truthful mileage. Carfax report will show a discrepancy because I was honest and told the DMV the original mileage was incorrect. I was not anticipating selling this car. Again, call me crazy. Unusual extras Included: OEM tan armrest with 4 cup holders. OEM rear cargo spill tray. Digital ambient air temperature gauge. Complete OEM dog barrier gate sourced & installed. A perfect transport for my late 130lb dog. Plenty of room for him to stand and enjoy the views comfortably. 4 OEM Volvo molded floor trays, a Northeast essential. 4 OEM leather head rest inserts. Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Work done since my 3/2013 purchase (other than oil changes religiously every 3k) 3/13 New intake hose & gasket, New motor mounts, Front brake job, 4 new tires & balancing, Odometer repair 4/13 Sourced and installed a used, undamaged front valance, Engine diagnostics run, New battery cables, New wiper jets, New flame trap kit, charged A/C 5/13 New OEM interior blower motor, Purchased and installed 2 new front Bilstein touring struts 7/13 Purchased and installed OEM digital ambient temp system, New alternator belts, New primary fuel pump, New ignition module & crank position sensor 8/13 New timing belt at 198k, New Miele inner & outer tie rods, New Headlight covers, New front corner lenses, New aftermarket tail lights, New starla muffler 3/14 Plugs, wires, rotor, cap, In-line fuel filer, K&N air filter, New power steering belt, New A/C belt & comp bushing, New trans shifter bushing, New splash pan, New rear brake pads, Front seat covers, Replaced rear bench seat (pleather) with a supple one (real leather pulled from a donor 245GL)8/15 Brake flush, New front copper brake lines, 2 Front Brembo rotors, New calipers, New padsI used this car to transport a cranky wife, two wonderful kids and a large dog around town, on long road trips (Jersey to Kentucky & back), camping, and to attend the occasional music festival. It's great for many tasks. You're welcome to bring your mechanic for an inspection & test drive before auction ends. I am readily available to show the car. Just send me a request and we'll set it up asap. Vehicle is currently located in Robbinsville, NJ 08691. Willing to ship at 100% buyers time & expense but vehicle will not be held more than 14 days after auction end.I am selling only because of a pending divorce and my awesome dog passing away. As life goes, things change quickly & I have little use for an extra utility vehicle + insurance now. I've already done much of the heavy (read: expensive) repair work & have revived it to a very solid condition. I'm not expecting to recoup all of the money I've already invested, I'm simply looking for a fair price and send it on it's way to a good owner. Bid fearlessly since the buyer will surely have many, many more miles of enjoyment with little worry.

The car runs well but is in need of some TLC. The rear fender is held on by a wire and has a small dent. The driver's side power window is broken but you can manually move it up and down. The windshield wiper fluid pump does not pump out fluid so you're on your own cleaning your windows. There are two key scratches on the drivers side,There is a crack in the windshield over a foot long but it is sealed and will not crack anymore. The front headlight on the left is loose but is in working condition. It's just not perfect looking. The front bottom of the bumper is loose but can be screwed in to stay in place. The AC does NOT work but the heat does. The engine light comes on once in awhile and the car sometimes dies when I've been driving a long time and I put it in park and it dies instead of me shutting it off but I can start it right back up. This doesn't happen all the time and is sporadic. The rear tail light warning light pops off and on and there is an issue with the rear taillights not working all the time. It would be easier for you to just buy the part online and replace it as opposed to trying to fix it as I've tried. There is a radio and CD player that work. This is a good fixer upper for someone who is a Volvo lover or someone who just needs a good reliable car. The engine will probably outlive you:) I've been driving it for 4 years without any problems. I replaced the catalytic converter about 6 months ago so I could pass the smog check so you are good on your smog for another year and a half. Clean title.

1993 Volvo Station Wagon - Good Condition - Drive it away today This car is a "daily driver," in full roadworthy condition, with no known safety or mechanical issues other than a broken rear passenger seatbelt buckle. The car was driven regularly up until being replaced by a newer vehicle last week. It is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma and will need to be driven away by buyer or shipped to buyer's location at buyer's expense and pickup arrangements. It has recently had a brake job and new belts installed. The cam belt was replaced as preventive maintenance. I am offering this car based on NADAguide's Price Report of 10/16/2015, "This vehicle would be in mechanically functional condition, needing only minor reconditioning. The exterior paint, trim and interior would show normal wear, needing only minor reconditioning." This is a good-driving, safe vehicle that would make an excellent car for a student as well as a great project car for a Volvo enthusiast wishing to do a full restoration.

This was a daily driver until hit by a deer. It runs good but the AC line is broken where it connects to the compressor. As you can see from the pictures the front end, front fenders and windshield have damage. Odometer only works for the short trip counter. The main counter has broken teeth in the mechanism so does not turn over.Mileage is over 150,000. Not sure how much. Other areas have normal wear and tear issues. It can be driven to where ever it needs to go given that it only has one headlight. The drivers side of the front end is push back a couple of inches but nothing is hitting the fan. Three tires have about 3/32's(thin) of depth and one is around 7/32's (good). I replaced one engine mount and have another in the box. The water pump was replaced three years ago. As well as the alternator and starter. It does have a hook up for XM radio with an antenna. Front windshield is cracked. Rear seat is covered in blue crushed velvet upholstery. Unlock handle for rear seat has broken part. AS IS Sell. No Warranty or Refunds. Local pick preferred. All shipping arrangements are the responsibility of the purchaser.

This is a 1991 Volvo 240 black. 4spd auto. Its had 236k on the old non running engine but the body is in fantastic condition especially for being from new england. Currently it has a broken crankshaft do to a burst rear cam seal. But I have a replacement motor off a 92 740 that I am combining for a deal.I was planning the interior for a roll cage so the carpet is gone but the floor is nicely painted and protected. The underbody was scraped, wire brushed and coated. A good 20 pounds of dirt came off and its looking good..I was trying to build this up as a recon rally car but i ran out of time as Im moving soon.I dont have many original interior plastics but a junkyard should have the rest of the plastics to make the interior original. I did also purchase a decent amount of new parts from Ipd all included. This is an excellent cheap platform for rally, track and drift. The head has been drained of coolant/head has been loosenedAbout every engine part cleaned/inspectedInterior b/c pillars/carpet and other various plastics are gone50% re wiring done for fuses to be center mounted (if needed there are underdash harnesses for $250ish. less $ at junkyard. Engine and trunk harnesses are oem)Airbag taken out but still haveExtreme underbody cleaning (its a clean unibody)front driver seat strengthened/repaired (this seat is amazing) Needs-1 front headlight electrical socketegr valvefront passenger tireturn signal switch/cruise control if needed. This is a very solid Volvo 240. I am the second owner. This car has had all major service and maintence done by 2 Excellent Volvo Specialized Independent ASE Volvo Certified Master Tech shops; Hubbard Woods Motors, Winnetka, IL and The Swedish Solution in Orange, OH. I purchased the car from the Owner of Hubbard Woods Motors a specialist in Volvos and working on Volvos only. The car belonged to the Owner's mother and was sold because she was too old to drive. When I purchased the car it had 28,000 miles on the odometer. This car was my daily driver for over 18 years until it became an extra car as I transitioned to another Volvo just out of personal preference for a 940 Turbo wagon with the same red block engine except turbocharged. This car has more low end torque and faster off the line than the 940 Turbo. The engine and transmission are super solid. Always used genuine Volvo parts including Mann factory OEM oil filter. The factory oil filter has a by-pass valve so that the filter is by-passed upon starting until oil pressure is above a certain level. So because of this the engine gets better lubrication on start up when most wear occurs. Used Mobile 1 Synthetic last 9+ years, the previous years ran Valvoline Dura-Blend semi-synthetic oil, Frequent oil changes and maintenance. Red Block Volvo engine is amazing as you know engines last 250K+, This engine burns no oil and delivers 20-24mpg+ highway mileage. Idles smooth and starts VERY reliably. Installed an IPD Massive, Heavy Duty, Alloy Anti-Sway bar designed for the 240 Turbo which gives a profound improvement in handling. Handles more like a stiff authoritative sports car drive that can take 25mph exit ramps at double that speed in complete control. I am a very conservative driver and drive for safety and longevity of my cars. Installed; IPD Poly Bushings in front end, Bilstein B6 Heavy Duty shock absorption installed on all 4 wheels: Yellow Struts in Front and Shocks in Rear, Metal Braided Brake Hoses front and rear, K&N filter.Installed a new Interstate Battery 3 months ago.A new timing belt was installed at 94,000 miles. New fuel pump, sender and return line recently. Moble 1 and OEM Mann filter change zero miles ago! Included in this sale is an extra set of (4) Volvo rims with very good condition, mounted, Yokohama Avid tires with 3/4+ tread remaining as pictured. A/C needs repair. Heater works great. Paint is original silver looks good but I had a pine tree that caused many acid damaged spots in the paint. Great car. $500 deposit due within 48 hours of end of item, balance due at pickup of car.
