Rare 1974 Electric karmann Ghia shipped from Washington State for low rust converted in 2011 with 36ea CALB 130AH cells 3.3V x 36 = 118.8V and can also be used to run lights & power tools when the power goes out. has battery scanner which displays *all* batteries up front, complete schematics also on evdl.org/lib/mh and the EV is on evalbum.com/4346. I drive 48 miles round trip daily to-from work and the range is 50 miles, a mile or two less with the heater (3 blow-dryers) on. The undercarriage pans were replaced, there's some periodic bottom of door rust for a 40 year old car I keep up with and it resides in the garage. A tow bar is included with 4ea spare "bandaid" betteries to get the full 60K miles out of the pack, 3000 cycles according to CALB. Headline is ok but has a few patches (photo). The tires are Prius LRR 45PSI P185/65R15 with mini-spare from Mitsubishi. Stereo has 4 speakers, CD, FM. ODO is ok but no trip ODO. I spent $5k on vehicle, $1.5k to ship, $5k to restore and $15k in parts, 600 hours labor. Am selling to buy another EV since I get bored every 5 years. 1970 Karman Ghia currently registered. New brakes and cylinders all around, new wheel bearings all around, new clutch and pressure plate. New plugs, points and condenser, new distributor cap, spark plug wires and spark plugs and new 12 volt coil and battery interior carpet. I have bought new headliner. It has a HURST shifter. Trans axel and transmission in good shape with no leaks, the same with the engine. Body has some rust, new replacement floor panels go with car. Body needs restoration and paint. All parts replaced with German not Brazilian made.I came across this abandoned project last month, the car having sat idle in a garage for over 30 years. I originally bought it for the engine alone, but soon realized that this is an excellent candidate for a daily driver or restoration.I cleaned out the fuel tank, lines and rebuilt the 2 Weber 40MM carburetors. With new points, plugs and battery installed, she fired right up and runs quite nicely. Compression was 125+ PSI on all 4 cylinders of the pro-built 1600CC engine. Per the previous owner, the engine had virtually no time on it, and cost over $3000 in the early 1980s (over $4K now). In my short and Long test runs, this engine has great power...the car is quite fast!I have 3 boxes of stuff for his car. This has a 1776 engine with duel carbs with lots of power for this car. It runs good on the freeway with no shimmy or shake or pulling.Stops good too. It has new interior upholstery, carpet, head liner and door panels. The tires are about a year old. Floor pans are in decent shape. Front grills were filled with sheet metal. The body is basically straight as you can see in the pictures. I think it needs a good exhaust system and a paint job to make this pretty nice. There are some rust bubbles under the gray paint. There is rust where the battery box is located and under the right rear fender. I really don't have anyplace to keep it and with winter right around the corner, I'd like to sell it to someone who can keep her sheltered properly.I have the original front bumper. Most of the things wrong with vehicle listed above are minor. All lights worked when I last checked, blinkers brake lights etc all work.

This is my love, my '74 VW Karmann Ghia, this is the last year that the Ghias were produced, and only 5608 of them were made. Overall the car is in good shape. There is rust on the rear deck lid and a small patch by the rear window. Engine starts and runs strong, and needs a muffler. Interior needs work, but $300 spent would give you a new interior. Very fun car to drive! Runs great. 4 speed manual. All original. Needs some interior work. 1600 cc engine.Qualifies for Antique Car tags.Tires are good. Its ready to drive right now, just needs a muffler to pass inspection.Vintage and so unique, too. Please look at the pictures, ask any questions you may have. Need room in my garage because I'm hot rodding a '62 Chevy Panel truck.

This is one of the nice original daily driver Karmann Ghia Coupes out there. Drives at 70-75 mph hour. Original Paint. Original Color. Original Seats. Original Headliner with a few tears. Original uncracked dash. Working Clock and other gauges. Uncut dash. Driver's Seat has wear (others okay). New Tires. New Carb. New Heat Exchanger. Great Heat in Winter! No Collision Damage Nor bondo no hidden repairs. The Nice Original Karmann Ghia I have ever owned or seen. I love the color! leaks a few drops of oil when parked. New engine to body seals. new oil cooler seals. new flywheel seals. fresh valve adjustment! Original Window seals have had silicone added over the years, and should be replaced. Original Glass. No Accidents, ever! Could use turn signals switch, all other lights work.
