This is a rust-free camper that spent most of its life in New Mexico. In 2010, the entire body was stripped, all the glass removed, and primed/painted with the original Sage Green color, with a clear coat. At that time, the engine was removed and totally rebuilt (receipts on hand), and the camper has been driven 4,500 since the rebuild. The interior was recently removed and all-new cabinetry was installed with the configuration VW used in the late 60's-early 70's (the simplest, most sensible layout, in my opinion, providing lots of storage). The front seats were replaced in 2010. All other upholstery/foam is brand new. Recent work includes the removal of the engine/transmission in order to replace a leaking transmission seal. At that time, all hoses were replaced, everything inspected, and new electronic ignition installed by a second-generation VW mechanic. Other recent work: brand new OEM pop-top canvas, 2 new batteries, a 450watt inverter connected to new 110vac receptacle, new rubber mats in the front, a new tray under the dash, and a brand-new, still in the bag, side awning. This camper is a low-mileage, beautiful, solid, "ready to go anywhere" camper. We're selling her because of a recent change in plans.
