Original paint, all records vehicle with fastidious maintenance. I purchased this van from an 83 year old German gentleman in 2013 after he called me for advice on lighting the fridge in preparation for sale. As a Westfalia owner for 25+ years, I recognized the value in a rust free, original paint van (I own another mint one). Even the sliding door is original paint! This vehicle comes manuals and receipts since new, including over 100 invoices. Everything that has needed attention has had it in a timely manner. In the last 15,000 miles it has had: five oil changes all other fluids replaced (coolant - twice with the correct German stuff, brake fluid, clutch fluid, transaxle) new catalytic converter brake service including master cylinder clutch assembly and machined flywheel clutch slave cylinder gas tank re-seal, vent hoses fuel lines, fuel rail lines cooling system updating including water pump, temp. sensor, thermostat, new steel pipes in the engine bay right and left cv joint assemblies control arm bushings power steering rack boots tie rod ends shocks - konis LT rated Yokohama van tires The van drives very well, solid brake pedal, tight steering with no shimmy, no suspension rattles, smooth shifting and unusually good power. The van is very original with only an aftermarket tape player and Boston Acoustics speakers in the rear cupboard. It also has a second battery with inverter. It even has ice cube trays. Everything works. The remainder of the interior is in excellent condition - pet free, smoke free and no rips or tears. The van has factory alloys, an awning, bra, rear bug screen and curtain cover for the skylight (which isn't cracked and doesn't leak) . The bike rack belongs to my other Westy and is NOT included in the sale. The gas stove knobs were taken off for my kids safety, but I have them. The van is missing the following: tables fuse box cover plastic cover for propane tank filler The exterior is straight and shiny! What it isn't is scratch or ding free. It has a few small dents (largest are on drivers side above the rear wheel), scratches in the clear coat, chips on the front (especially bumper) and door edges...the usual for a nearly 25 year old vehicle. The clear coat on the rear hatch is sun damaged and peeling. This is not a high dollar GoWesty fixer upper, this is an extremely well maintained original van with NO seam rust and lots of life left! I intended to apply for BC collector plates in Jan 2016 and to keep this van for my youngest son, but an unexpected real estate opportunity has presented and forced me to rethink its future. The van currently has 172,574 miles. The odometer was replaced in 2005 with a new one with a zero reading. This repair was documented in the service manual and is confirmed by receipt for installation and over 40 vehicle records in CarFax. The current reading is 26, 475 km on the odometer.
