Sorry to have to part with this fully restored '79 Epilog I've had for 3 years. Only one of these models was sent to each VW dealer in the US in 1979 to commemorate the end of production for the Beetle Convertible, in a triple black color scheme. Over $17k has been invested which includes: Top- new vinyl, padding, headliner, rubber seals, blasted and painted frame, rear window seal, defroster and even a top boot. New paint matching original color, new rubber seals all around (German), new chrome trim, new German floor pans, undercoating, sound deadener, German running boards and gravel guards. Brand new tires, upgraded Sport Wheels, spare tire, jack and tools. New brakes, brake lines, cylinders and master. All electrical works, including the original clock that still keeps time. Radio/CD/Bluetooth with 4 speakers in front kick panels and rear deck w/ remote control. New carpet, door panels, rubber window scrapers, optional console at gear shift with wood knob, new visors and new seat covers with new padding in seats. New clutch. Totally rebuilt engine with refinished tin, German components, new engine seal, hoses, lines and new muffler. Not a single component was overlooked. Too many things to list. All receipts in hand. All work done by a local, professional VW mechanic. Priced way below market.

It is one of only 5,327 VW convertibles built in 1975. It starts, runs, drives, turns, and stops. I bought this car on eBay in 2011 from a seller in California. He installed a brand new vinyl top prior to shipping the car to me. The odometer is not accurate--it was not working when I received the car, so the actual mileage is unknown. While in my care, I did a lot of work to the car. With the extensive assistance of my city's resident VW guru (everyone with an air-cooled VW knew Derek...EVERYONE) we removed the engine and converted from 1970's era computer-driven fuel-injection to a much simpler carbureted system. The previous owner was an aircraft engineer who had installed (2) TWO oil filters to the car; one of those was a HUGE Amsoil truck filter the size of a coffee can! (seriously!) So this car had extra oil capacity with DOUBLE-FILTERED oil running through it for many years and most definitely never ran too hot! We removed that setup and simplified it by installing a single oil filter setup that takes a regular Bosch filter available at any auto parts store. (This way you still get good oil filtration and extra oil capacity without having to track down a replacement for that mega-overkill truck filter!) This was a full conversion with heads off a donor car and the oil inlet off of Derek's old VW bus (we left it blue in honor of Derek's old bus.) The car now runs synthetic high-mileage formula oil. We installed NGK iridium spark plugs, a Compu-fire electronic points system, new plug wires, and a new carb & Empi air filter setup with a chrome air filter cover. I replaced the fuel pump when it died, adding an in-line plastic filter and replacing the main Bosch filter at the same time. Then, I had a professional air-cooled VW shop rewire the electrical to resolve a difficult-to-find short...so I just had him do it all because, you know, new electrical is a good thing. While he was at it, I had him wire in a new 12 volt outlet because you've gotta charge that cellphone. The battery was installed in the past few months, so it's good. The tires are in pretty good shape. I had 4 new ones--nothing fancy-- put on about 4 years ago and probably no more than 2,000 miles put on them since. There is plenty of tread left. Mechanically, this is a great car. When we got it running right, my wife & I drove it from South Carolina to Maryland--about a 1200 mile round trip. We had no mechanical issues the entire trip. Full Disclosure: Ok, so everything that I can think of....The paint isn't perfect. I believe it was originally a bright yellow. You can see some of this in discrete places and where there are light scratches. The front is bright, shiny red, but fades as you go back, to a sunset orange-ish. I believe it sat in a carport in California and got that rear end baked in the sun. It actually gives the car some cool character. There are a few small rust spots--dime & nickel-sized. One of the front fenders has some bubbling of the paint that's relatively new. The floor pans will probably need replacing--there's some rust, which I pictured as best I could. (The front strut mounts look fine.) The interior isn't perfect, but it can be worked with for restoration. The dash has one moderate-sized crack. The front seat covers are pretty good covers, but the seats themselves need redone. The passenger seat is a bit wobbly on the track. The back seat is good. The front seat adjustment levers need knobs, but they do work. I don't know how old the carpet is. Some of it is fine, some of it could use replacing, depending on your plans. The interior door panels are a bit warped, but I have nice OEM replacements new in box that are included with the sale. Some of the window cranks need knobs and/or retaining screws...nothing major. The chrome on top off the passenger window has come loose and needs fixed...also minor. The convertible top is good-- as I said before, was replaced just before I bought it. It has mostly been kept under either a cover or a carport when not in use over the past 5-6 years. The top itself does not leak at all. The rubber around the rear windshield is the original rubber and is dry rotted--it does leak and needs replaced. YouTube can show you how to do this--it doesn't look too bad. Again, it's been kept under a cover to prevent this being a problem. I think I have the replacement seal. I will include it if I can locate it. Pretty much all of the rubber on the convertible frame needs replaced. The frame rubber is mostly dry-rotted, but any water runs off the top like a canopy. Even in a pouring rain, water doesn't come in if the windows are open. There are no heater hoses installed--we live in South Carolina on the coast (it's January and I'm wearing a t-shirt, shorts & flip-flops!) My VW guru and also the mechanic at the VW shop said that my heater channels looked to be in good shape. He tack welded some plates over the heater hose outlets the floor of the engine compartment and temporarily sealed off the hose outlets on the fan housing so that hot air wouldn't blow into the engine compartment. This could all be un-done quite easily so that you could have heat in the winter. As I said before, the car starts, runs, turns, and stops. Occasionally, the carburetor needs a little adjustment for the idle or depending on the outside temperature. The idle screw needs loosening here & there. A better carb would probably be a little less fussy. The brakes work, but I never changed the pads--I'd recommend doing that. There's no stereo or speakers, which just means you get to pick your own. A couple of years ago, I was seriously using this car as a daily driver to and from work until the starter went. Too many projects put the Red Baron on the back burner. I recently installed the new battery & starter and he's running great again. Now, I just have other big projects going and need for this car to get the love it deserves. I have disclosed everything I can think of here. Please examine all photos. This is meant to give you a good idea of the condition of the vehicle. It is not meant to be an all-encompassing condition report. If you would like to arrange a viewing of this car, please message me for more information or with any questions you might have. I am also open to your mechanic coming by to look at it for an inspection. *I plan to keep the wooden gear shift knob pictured in the photos for sentimental value (I love this car!). A plain substitute shifter knob will be provided.*

2008 VW Jetta Wolfsburg Edition for sale! 96,800 miles! Recently detailed, this car looks and drives great. No major issues and serviced religiously. I have loved this car for its sporty feel, quick acceleration (makes merging onto highways easy as pie), and comfortable interior. We're getting rid of it, unfortunately, because we only need one car now and our VW wagon is much better suited for our monthly travels to visit family out of state. Here are the features of this great car:- 4 cylinder, 2.0L turbo engine-Automatic 6-speed DSG (dual clutch for super fast shifting and improved efficiency) gearbox-FWD-Heated leather front seats-Leather rear seats-Traction and stability control-Heated sideview mirrors (very handy in the winter)-Keyless entry-Power locks, mirrors, driver seat, steering, and windows-Cold A/C-Premium sound system with 6 disc changer, MP3 capable, and Sirius satellite radio capable-Driver and passenger front, side, and curtain air bags-Power sunroof-Daytime running lights-Alloy wheels with practically new tiresThe only known issue is that the cruise control switch needs replaced ($50 online and some DIY time, or $300 for the VW dealer to do it all). That's it! Like I said before, I love this car and have taken care of it as best I could for the past few years, so there isn't much wrong with it. It should last well into the 200k miles with continued maintenance and care. Before you contact me with questions or wanting to setup a time to see it, be aware that this will be a cash only deal! No other forms of payment will be accepted and that is final. I've been bitten by scammers before with fake checks and it's not happening again. Please call or text with any questions or interest! Thank you for looking and I look forward to finding this great car a new home!
