Up for auction is a clean, well maintained Jetta TDI Turbo Diesel. It was mechanically owned and maintained and took great care of it. It is a 2002 Model so it is not a new car and imperfections should be expected. The interior is in good, clean condition with no broken/missing parts. It does show usage on the door handle, steering wheel and around the shift stick but as you can see from the pictures it's good for it's age. The exterior is pretty good. Please refer to the pictures for detail. The big advantage this car has over most of them is it has a new OEM transmission directly from VW and installed by a reputable VW dealer. It was previously titled in IL and I suspect the continuous stop and go traffic played a part in the first part of it's life by the previous owner. If the transmission is treated well and regular fluid changes are done, you can expect a long life from it. Right now there is about 8K miles on it and it works great this job alone was $3600 dollars only two years ago. Other maintenance things that were done was the timing belt was changed at 79500 miles with a DieselGeek 100K interval timing belt kit, so it is good for another 30k miles. I always used Genuine VW parts, OEM company parts suppliers, or trusted German parts from Reputable suppliers on TDIclub.com. Aside from the transmission, I did all the work myself to ensure it was done using VW Methods with good parts. The intake manifold and EGR were cleaned before the timing belt was done, just before the switch to ULSD. I've been using Powerservice Fuel additive for years for lubrication protection for the injection pump and injectors. The engine has a Engine block heater by FrostHeater for the cold season. Not only is a comfy interior nice but it also helps prevent engine wear by having a warm engine when you leave. The engine is in excellent mechanical condition and has never left me stranded in the winter and starts very well in winter. Oil has always been Pentosin 5w-40 Full synthetic VW 505.00 spec or better. VW G12 Antifreeze was replaced after transmission was done. All the filters were always changed on schedule. The brakes on the front and rear are both in good shape with a lot of life left. A/C works great, tires are Michelin Energy Saver and are in ok condition. Other recent things that have been replaced are: -Glow Plug Harness and new glowplugs (2013) -Genuine VW battery (~2013) -Turbo VNT Actuator (2013) -New Timing belt kit (Belt, tensioners, rollers, water pump, gaskets/seals, etc.) -New Aluminum Belly Pan and Side Skirts to keep engine Clean and dry I'm selling this for my son.
