1973 VW Wagon, type 4, 412 I’m selling my very clean 1973 type 4 square-back Volkswagen. I have had it for several years now and I drive it on a regular basis, but I do not have the space to keep this car any longer. It has a very nice paint job on it, just a few chips here and there, and a little rough spot around the antenna and a small dent (2”X 3”) under the pumper strip on the forward edge of the driver’s door. This nice wagon runs very well, I have been told that it has a 1.7 liter or 1700CC motor in it, but please look at the photos, I am not sure of vw motor sizes. It has an automatic transmission that works well and Brakes are good, all the lights work along with wipers and gauges. It is a daily driver with current license and registration. (1973 no California smog check necessary.) Stereo works well, and it does have some sort of single cylinder gas powered heater in it that I have never used. People have told me the heater type is rare? It has Very good tires with EMPI wheels! It even has a non-functioning sun roof. If you are looking for a very nice clean little VW that runs well, this would be the one. It is a very rare model, and you get lots of looks driving it around. And it is dependable for daily use. The only problems I have ever had with the cars is once in a while the starter will not make full contact and grinds, then when you try again it always starts. And If it sits for a while (many days) the front tires have a little wobble in them till they warm up. I guess this is common with EMPI wheels and cold tires?
