stingdude Store In 1977 and 1978, VW issued one Champagne Edition convertible to each US dealership, also known as a Special US Sales Campaign model S723. This was essentially a Triple White convertible, but used a sand colored convertible top and had a set of four gold stripes running along the bottom of the doors and rear quarter panels. The 1977 model had faux burled elm dash inserts and the 1978 had faux rosewood dash inserts. Both had Opal colored vinyl seat (ribbon weave) and door panel coverings. Approximately 1000 total triple white S723 convertibles were sold in the US. I am pleased to offer this 1978 Super Beetle Convertible Champagne Edition in Triple White. This was my fathers car that was garaged and covered at his second home in Palm Desert, Ca. It has 7351 original miles from new (Documented from DMV smog check records). Original paint, top, interior, etc. Just fitted 4 new tires -BF Goodrich from Coker . As good an original specimen as you are likely to find. You are looking at an absolutely beautiful stock 1968 VW Bug! This car will take you anywhere! This little beauty has new brakes, new brake lines, new wheel cylinders, new wheel bearings, new drums! I have also replaced the steering damper , the front end was recently aligned & the car was completely tuned with all German parts. All of the electrical has been gone through & is all working, everything works! The bumpers are new & triple chrome, not the common cheap replacement bumpers, these are nice! The car still wears it's original black calif. plates, check out the VWX, pretty cool! The tires are brand new with less then 100 miles on them & the 5.5 chrome wheels are new as well! The valves were just adjusted & the oil changed. The interior in this car is Excellent! the headliner is excellent as are the carpets. The interior is Tabaco in color & the outside is Savanna beige. The car has a couple of minor touch ups that I have tried to picture, they are very faint. You will find a minor 3-4" scratch on the passenger door, ( pictured )There are two super small bubbles under the paint. This Bug has had one quality repaint about eight years ago & still presents itself very well! The pans are excellent, there is a repair made under the battery. The repair was to cover a 3" battery acid hole, a weld plate was used & it's better then new! This sweet Bug has two adult owners, the first was a woman that bought it new & I am the second owner, I'm 62 years young so you can be assured this Bug has not been abused. All of the window rubbers are excellent, all of the glass is excellent! Compliments anytime it leaves the garage. Allow me to introduce myself, My name is Ruff and I am a Volkswagen Superbeetle. I am 42 years old, I was born in Europe in 1973 and immediately moved to America for a better life. My skin is Orange with a black interior, my odometer says I have 51,133 miles, but I believe I have traveled much further than that. (turned over) My current roommates have had me for about ten years, they've always seen fit that I was maintained and kept indoors or under a carport at our vacation home in the Coachella Valley. I am a autostick (yes, the rare autostick) I am a cross between a automatic and a stick shift, I have a shifter, but no clutch. I am very easy to drive. A few years back I received a beautiful new paint job and I clean up real well, but I'm thinking in a year or two, I might need a touch up here and there; but I am completely presentable and receive smiles and sometimes hand waves as I travel our beautiful city. Recently, I have had some health issues... I have been always faithful and true and I have never left my owners stranded, but my doctor tells me that I am going to need a starter solenoid, which I hear is very reasonable to have fixed, but this has confined me to the house. I will need to be towed to a shop to have that taken care of. I do prefer a covered parking spot though if you have one. If you want to come out and take a look at me, I'd be happy to meet you. I live up highway 74 in Palm Desert. (community right next door to Bighorn Country Club.) My roommates are in their 70's and they're selling their vacation home and moving back into the city, me personally I'd like to stay around the desert if possible... so if you've got $5500.00, come pick me up, let's go for a ride.
