1969 volkswagen convertible, You will see some small round spots in some pictures,especially on the blue. This is not on the car, but on my camera lens, and would not come off. time for a new camera. I aquired this from the second owner which owned it since 2005. The little car is in great shape. I have not found any rust on the car. He had new floor pans installed a few years ago, and hardly ever drove the car, his wife drove it mostly. It has newer interior, which is cloth, no tears. A full cover comes with car, which is in the trunk. Original jack is also in trunk. The engine runs great, no smoke,rattles, and oil leaks. It drives great. disc brakes on front, everything works, including radio. The paint on the car is not show quality, but very presentable, with very few scratches, and one bubble under passenger headlight the size of a quarter. The top and boot has no tears as shown in pics. It has a Karmann emblem on passenger side as shown in pictures, for what that's worth, don't know much about volkswagens. I know every time I drive it, I get thumbs up all time. The floor pans does not even have dirt on them, still look new. I have a clear open Mississippi title in hand. 1985 Volkswagen Vanagon This ol' babe is the cat's pajamas. I love this vanagon and I'm certain you will too. My fiance and I just recently took several road trips including a 1000 mile round trip journey to Orlando, FL this past summer. I built a custom bed platform, threw a full size bed in the back, and never lost a wink of sleep during our camping trips. This is a true adventure machine. The good: -Runs Strong-Solid body-Clean interior with low wear-New Starter-Perfect glass all the way around-wooden bed platform-custom hand-made curtains-Fun paint(?)-Heat works-I would drive it anywhere The not as good:-Not the fastest car on the road, but if you're looking for a vanagon, you probably already know this. -it's 31 years old, so it's not perfect. -a/c isn't hooked up-a couple of dents, but nothing heartbreaking (pictured)-CD player blew a fuse -Odometer doesn't work so the miles are an estimate (I use a speedometer app on my phone and haven't skipped a beat)-The gas tank needs resealing, I only put 9 gallons in at a time and it has been fine, but I'm including a gas tank reseal kit. If you are even mildly handy, you can reseal the tank in an afternoon. Easy job. -Oil is slightly leaky from the oil drain plug. I think the plug was crossthreaded when I took the vanagon to get it's oil changed when I first got it. I simply put leak seal in every time I change the oil and hit the road and it seems to do the trick for a while. I always keep an eye on the level when I take longer trips. I bought this Vanagon last April from a guy that has worked on VW's for 30 years. He recently pulled the engine and put all new gaskets on everything. Starts every time and runs strong. As-is. Reluctantly, I am selling my 1974 VW Beetle type 1 "Volxrod". This car was hand built by Skidmarks Garage in Belleview, FL. Anyone who regularly visits the big VW events on the east coast, including the annual Bug Jam in October of each year will recognize this one of a kind vehicle. This car was featured in Hot VWs Magazine some years ago when Mark of Skidmark's first introduced the car to the public, after a 6 year build. When you see the car, you will realize where the time went. This car has more hand made parts than any car I've seen, including customer fiberglass and billet aluminum items. You can see a series of pictures at the following link: http://1drv.ms/1NlXAGg. I cannot possibly list all the items of interest on this car, but I'll attempt to list the big ones. The car is built on a 1974 type 1 pan, but that's about the extent of the original car. The entire pan was built with completely new metal. The front beam is stock, and adjustable for raising or lowering.The engine is a 1600cc dual port that was professionally built, with dual carbs, and lots of aftermarket bling, as well as few custom billet aluminum parts.The transmission was new when the car was built, and is geared to easily move the big Weld Racing wheels on the back and front. The front tires were recently replaced with about 100 miles on them. A Gene Berg shifter gets you through the gears.The brake system includes Porsche disc brakes on all four corners. All brake lines are aluminum braided. The steering box and master cylinder are custom made billet components, along with many other hand made billet parts on the front end. The body started out as a stock type 1, and was then chopped several inches. The rear fenders are widened to accommodate the over sized rear tires, while the entire front clip is custom made fiberglass components, including the good and side skirts. The rear deck lid is also a custom made fiberglass part with custom carbon fiber inserts.The convertible top is custom made from fiberglass, and is covered in cloth. The top raises electrically with the push of a switch. The body includes a full roll cage as well.The interior is custom made with recaro seats, door panels, and front and rear kick panels in a black/grey tweed that mimics the carbon fiber look throughout the car. The console is custom built and houses a Sony radio/CD player. Oh, and one other thing, the blower intake sticking out of the hood is functional, with the butterflies actuated when you push down the gas pedal. The intake is plumbed into the console of the car, and provides fresh air while driving. It's essentially a custom air conditioning system.As I said, there a far too many things to list here, so I'd be happy to discuss the car further with anyone who might be interested. For me, this car is a work of art. The fit and finish in every detail is impeccable. I have won multiple awards with this car, and have never driven away from a show without a trophy. Young and old alike are in awe of this car when they see it. Although the broader numbers show that diesel-powered passenger vehicles have never enjoyed the sweeping success here that they’ve had in Europe, some brands continue to plod ahead with oil-burning engines and reap relatively strong sales. Volkswagen is one of these brands, having sold more than 1 million diesel-powered vehicles in the U.S. since the first Rabbit diesel was sold here in 1977.VW’s current 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine, found under the hood of the 2013 Jetta, has enjoyed years of relative success, with Volkswagen often claiming that sales are limited mostly by production capacity. Waitlists at dealers and high TDI resale values seem to back that up. Although the broader numbers show that diesel-powered passenger vehicles have never enjoyed the sweeping success here that they’ve had in Europe, some brands continue to plod ahead with oil-burning engines and reap relatively strong sales. Volkswagen is one of these brands, having sold more than 1 million diesel-powered vehicles in the U.S. since the first Rabbit diesel was sold here in 1977. VW’s current 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine, found under the hood of the 2013 Jetta, has enjoyed years of relative success, with Volkswagen often claiming that sales are limited mostly by production capacity. Waitlists at dealers and high TDI resale values seem to back that up. The engine produces 140 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque, enough to propel our Reflex Silver Metallic example from 0 to 60 mph in 8 seconds flat, then on to the quarter-mile in 16.2 seconds, with a trap speed of 86.3 mph. Keep in mind that Our car was equipped with a manual transmission -- a DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission would almost certainly have knocked at least a few tenths off both of those numbers. On the road, the Jetta feels light and nimble, largely because it is. At a shade over 3100 pounds, the TDI sits on the lighter side of average for the segment, but that’s not at the expense of solidarity. The chassis is taut and rides a bit firmer than some competitors. The reward is strong composure whether tracking down the interstate or tearing up a back road — something GLI owners are probably more inclined to take part in. Like the shifter, steering is light yet direct, and the driving position is very good, with excellent range to the telescoping steering column — a plus for taller drivers. Still, the cabin of the Jetta TDI is a nice place to spend time, and several improvements have been made for the 2013 model year. Power-reclining driver and front passenger seats are now available, and the steering wheel, shift knob, and hand-brake lever are all leather-wrapped. That said, the V-Tex black leatherette seat upholstery is of good quality, and our non-optioned car came equipped with Bluetooth, an iPod interface, and keyless entry. Of course, even more important than all these niceties for most prospective TDI owners is fuel economy, and the EPA rates the 2013 Jetta TDI at 30/42 mpg city/highway, with a combined rating of 34 mpg in mixed driving. That’s a single combined mpg better than the Chevrolet Cruze diesel’s EPA rating, but 10 mpg combined less than the Honda Civic Hybrid and 16 mpg combined less than the Toyota Prius.
