Located 30 minutes from Chicago in Northwest Indiana. Thanks to a deer, my wife’s car was destroyed last week. The truck was our fun weekender vehicle. I could probably manage to keep the truck, but it's just easier to sell it to fund a new car for her. • It's an 81 body with 131k GTI motor in it. Motor was rebuilt when he installed it into the truck, so it has less than 50k on it. Runs great and sounds good. It's a complete GTI swap. • Bed is in beyond excellent shape for the age. • Undercarriage is great. Sills have been coated to prevent rust. • Body is in great shape. There are minor gripes, but the truck is 35 years old. • Neuspeed Throttle body • Working A/C (extremely rare!) • MK1 Snow Flake Rims • Kamei front lower spoiler (not my taste, but it does bolt right off) • Paint is in good shape. There is a swatch missing in the passenger pillar. Came off when I took the camper cap off. Luckily it's in a very easy place for a professional repaint should you wish for that (1990's GM white paint code). • Passed Indiana emissions 09/23/2015 • Throwing in a free carpeted foam bed liner. Camper in last photo is ONLY included for an additional $150. Painted to match the truck. I’ll refund you $50 if you allow me to keep the bumper/hitch. Please do not contact me with absurd low-ball offers or quote me blue-book prices. These trucks are VW collector’s items, they are already very rare. In another 10 years it will be just as hard to get one of these as the buses. Be aware my pricing is based predominantly on the rarity of a rust free shell. Vehicle is being sold as-is without any warranty. It's a 35 year old truck, please do not expect it to be perfect or maintenance free. It runs, drives, and looks great. In regards to shipping, that is fully up to your to arrange how you want that done. I drove it 2 hours from where I picked it up without issue. However, if you are transporting the car a long distance I would highly recommend a trailer. That is always the wise course to take when buying and transporting an older used vehicle.
