This garage kept, 1970 fire red metallic re-mod (rebuilt & modified) Volkswagen Beetle has a professional built high performance 1776cc engine, built by Vintage Performance of West Chester, Pa, at a cost of $5000. It has over sized pistons, cam, oil sump & valves. The engine does not leak oil. The engine is fed by two dual Dulordo carburetors. The manual transmission was built in California and has a Skat short stroke shifter and a heavy duty clutch.The body was professionally built by Auto Impact, now known as Precision Collision of Coatesville, Pa, at an approximate cost of $5000. The body was completely disassembled, stripped, and blasted with walnut shells. The red metallic paint is a GM color. The fenders are new, the rest of the body is original. The floor pans are also new. All the glass, rubber, and wiring have been replaced. It has all new brakes, not just the shoes, but everything from the rubber pedal to the wheels. The wheels are 8 spoke polished aluminum. There are 185/65 r15's on the front and P215/60 R15's on the rear. The running boards are also aluminum. All the chrome is new. The underside is completely undercoated.The interior is one year old. It is saddle brown leather and it was installed professionally by Ron Kozura's Upholstery in Pottsville, PA.The interior also has a new tachometer, oil pressure, oil temperature, and volts gauges. The speedometer reads approximately 30,000, but read 19746 when the car had its first inspection after the rebuild. All the inspection receipts are available.The new AM / FM stereo play CDs or iPod and it also has USB support. It uses two large speakers mounted by the back window.The yearly inspection and insurance cost on this car combined are approximately $150 - practically free to operate.
