I wanted a convertible sports car and choose the Karmen Ghia because if needed, repairs could be done at a very modest price compared to other foreign sports cars, plus the classic styling of the car is one of the all time best. I also found interiors could easily be changed out if desired, plus with a standard engine, insurance was very inexpensive. When we found it was 99.9 rust free and i still is to this day and there are a couple a paint scratches here in there so check the pics out. The entire body was painted to a Polar White, which basically is the same color as the hair on a polar bear, showing a hint of yellow/cream. The only rust was under the battery which I guess is quite common for the Karman Ghia's, he didn't cut it out and replace the metal, he ground it out, primed it and painted over it. Other than the wood sports car steering wheel, dash cover and carpet kit, the interior remained original from purchase which I believe is from the factory and the door panels, seats and headliner are in great shape for their age as this little gem spent most of it's like garaged. We also had a new convertible top made for it and installed a quiet but low and throaty muffler system and the top still looks new and goes up and down with ease and latches right up and there is also a custom 1000 watt stereo that plays cassettes, CD's and as you can see from the pic has been carefully wired with a great amplfier and crossover networks so you aren't wasting power by sending high or low frequencies where they don't belong. Here's what it needs:Plastic rear window is splitMechanic says the car needs head work but the low end is good so as of now car is not running4 paint chip's and they are smaller than a dime, don't know where that came from, garage living I guess. A rebuilt engine long block is about $1,400 and a rebuilt long block with new parts for about $1,700. This Ghia is in very nice shape for it age and is the more desirable model from the 60's as the 70-74 have the funky large lights and just don't have that same look. Look no further for a very nice Ghia that just needs a few more items done to be top notch .....It's been in storage for many years and I just dropped $1.200.00 (pics of receipt shown) into it a month ago to get rear brakes, carburetor rebuilt and a general overall maintenance check to make sure it's ready to drive without and problems once the new owner decided on the heads being swapped out for about $1,400 or just wants a fresh long block put in for $2,300 and both those prices are with labor. The car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this at anytime before it's scheduled end and as usual with a 46 year old car there is no warranty. A $500.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of the purchase and the balance via bank transfer or cashiers check within 7 days.

This is one of the nicest old 1959 Beetles you will see on the road as the restoration and build are high quality with the best of parts and materials & lots of chrome The Bug was and stripped and painted this awesome light blue and is a real eye catcher as whenever I drive it there always people staring and plenty of thumbs ups!!! Well powered with a 1835 engine, 041 heads, 90 mm pistons, Engle 110 cam, full circle crank, dual carbs, 1700lb Kennedy clutch, lightened flywheel, this bug is VERY fast and has a very impressive sound/whine when racing through the gears and pulls strong even in 4th………… All new brakes & lines, converted to 12 volt with alternator, adjustable front beam, cruises on the freeway at 70-80 all day long with the road gears. New Grey tweed interior, door panels…etc…etc…all original floors with original sound deadening grey headliner & salt and pepper carpet.Gas tank has been lined and polished up as seen in the pics, bumper brackets have been powder coated & bumpers have been re-chromed. Polished wheels and the tires have almost all their tread left. Car has been wired for a head unit in the glove but I couldn't bring myself to cut and install speakers as the inside looked so pristine Approximately 1000 miles on car since restoration but the true mileage on the chassis is unknown as the speedometer has been replaced. Car is rust free and always garage kept and a real attention getter not to mention great fun to drive and we just added an awesome roof rack and that pic will be up very soon. If you are looking for a turnkey 1959 Bug for the summer fun this is the one for you. Check out the pics and they will do the talking for this little beast. I will assist with shipping but all those costs are the responsibility of the buyer.A $500.00 non-refundable deposit by Paypal is required within 24 hours of close by the buyer. Seller reserves the right to end auction early as car is for sale locally and the car is sold as is with no warranty.
