I hate to sell this little baby, It has been one of my favorite cars. Full of rare items and a true crowed pleaser either at shows or just driving down the road. I've just got too many cars. It is just done being restored: All new brakes All mechanicals gone through and rebuilt, original numbers matching engine None numbers matching full syncro trans fully rebuilt no expense spared, New Stratus Silver paint with 5 coats of clear and polished out. All new West coast classics correct German cloth interior 5 new radial tires including spare All 5 wheels are very rare 15" riveted not welded wheels date coded to car Caoch restored steering wheel with NOS horn button Correct Nordic states rare tail lights (these are not the standard snow flake style) Early correct Bosch headlights Original Jemeppe Securit Belgium window glass This car runs and drives like new !!!! This little baby started it's life out in Belgium assembled back in March of 1956. Now torn down and put back 100% to it's original state (well maybe just a little better ;) Of coarse that is what we do, make things better. It features a number of Belgium only spec parts, including window glass, front sway bar, and riveted (instead of welded) 15 inch wheels. It also does not have a body number in the original location like the German built cars (stamped into the body below the vin tag) instead it is stamped into the right side inspection plate. It also does not have a made in Germany tag either, it never had one because it was not built there. Yes, by 1956 demand for these and different country DOT standards were all over the place, so Volkswagen would send cars disassembled to other countries for assembly. This somehow was easier to get them into said countries and save on import duties. To think this little beetle managed to retain most all of it's original parts including motor (now with an Okrasa engine kit) front beam, and transaxle. Yea, this is a numbers matching car after 59 years, WOW !!!! Take a look at the pictures and please ask questions, as I'm sure I left something out.

I need to sell my lovely 1973 Super Beetle because I am leaving the country in a month and a half. Over the past 3 years, I have replaced a majority of the parts in it and am looking to pass it onto an owner who is excited about having an iconic, vintage car. The vehicle has a nearly brand new engine with less than 1200 miles. It is an of year engine and runs fantastic - it is great on long or short trips, and gets around 25 mpg highway. The front end has almost been entirely replaced. The upholstery was recently redone by the previous owner, and he equipped the beetle with a Pioneer sound system. The body is in great shape as well, with only minor, cosmetic rusting around the hood seals and on the front and back fender. The paint looks fresh and very clean on the outside, with sky blue on the sides and white on the hood, cab, and trunk; there are, however, some nicks and bits on the interior paint and tint that could use some attention. I've worked on this car alot, and have both the Haynes complete rebuild manual and John Muir's excellent "How to Keep Your Volkswagen Alive Forever" handbook which I am more than happy to pass on to the new owner. This car is excellent as a starter car or if you want to learn to work on your own automobile. Even if you don't, I am happy to refer you to a local mechanic who I know has extensive experience with these cars and will keep your new Beetle running through thick and thin without any headdaches. If youre a VW Veteran, then you know these machines are cheap and easy to work on, and they can run forever as long as you give your new stylish ride the attention it deserves! $4500 is the price, and the engine by itself costed more than that, but I've got to move this VW to a new home asap! Condition: Very good. Under 57,000 original miles. New exterior paint with a few minor dents/dings on body, minor rust/pitting on chrome bumpers and trim, interior seats and carpet replaced to match original, Sony stereo w/CD, new 3-point retractable seat belts installed for front seats, electrical system (harness, wiring, relays and most switches) replaced with new, hard brake line replaced, engine checked thoroughly and maintenance performed by qualified mechanic, carburetor rebuilt, seals and gaskets replaced, new fuel pump, oil filter and fuel filter added, full tune up performed. Runs great, standard transmission shifts a little loose but no transmission problems, new tires. History: current owner has owned for three years and driven it very little. Replaced electrical system, painted exterior and replaced interior, had engine fully checked and necessary maintenance and repairs done, replaced hard brake line and had new tires mounted. Very little know previously about car other than previous owner had painted car in a "Herbie" style. That paint was faded and flaking and decals peeling, so car was repainted to match original. Shipping & Payment: Pay with cash or cashier check. Buyer pick up car in San Diego and receive title upon receipt of payment in full. Shipping of car from San Diego to other area only at buyer's expense. Car sold as-is. No warranty as car is 46 year old classic.
