It has a powerful inline six motor that makes a perfect sound as you tick through the gears, while enjoying the curvy backroads. This 1974 TR6 appears mechanically well-sorted. It has a great history of being purchased new, by a doctor, in '74. It was sold to its second owner four years later, and she cherished it for nearly a quarter century. After that, this Triumph roadster went into the hands of the expert mechanic who maintained it for the owner. The most recent owner has been a meticulous caretaker since 2011. All of this means a full file that we can trace back more than 35 years of maintenance and care. The Crimson Red exterior is in very good condition today. It looks the way a sporting two-seater should, with handsome cut-down doors, a long hood (bonnet), and matching redline tires. Other details like the chrome and rubber bumpers, the trunk-mounted luggage rack, racing-style gas cap, and the instantly recognizable taillights are very nice, and need no work to enjoy the car immediately. The interior is another hallmark of the great British roadster. With a real wood dashboard full of original Smiths gauges, it definitely has a hand-crafted European feel. Everything has a deep, dark appearance from the bucket seats to the gearshift boot. Because nothing is better than your favorite song on a road trip, this roadster has an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo system. And for those times when you get caught out in wet weather, there is a brand new black vinyl folding roof. British roadsters are often known for their fun on the road despite being typically underpowered. That's why the TR6 is so coveted. It's got a 2.5-liter inline-six that doesn't suffer from this anemic reputation, and it's one of the larger motors out of the iconic era of sprightly roadsters. In a car that weighs barely 2,500 lbs, it has quick acceleration and the power to keep pulling well into highway speeds. Part of this versatility comes from the control you get from the four-speed manual transmission. You can tell from one look at the engine bay that the maintenance history is accurate. This includes key components such as the front disc brakes, starter, clutch, fuel pump, and alternator all replaced within the last few thousand miles. In fact, the Stromberg carburetors were rebuilt this summer. These TR6s are amazing backroad burners, and this one has been cared for exactly the way you'd want for a reliable Sunday driver. All of this is packaged for under $16K, so we know it won't last long in our showroom. 1963 Triumph Spitfire4 Mark 1. 42,461 original miles, original British racing green/red with all original components. A true "barn find" just rescued from 29 year storage in a basement. This time capsule was always maintained and it shows; no hit/no accident car with all original parts present, including hardware, bumpers, motor/tranny/rear, interior, tires/wheels/jack, convertible top/frame, radio, etc etc..an early British sports car lovers/spitfire dream! 29 years ago the owner decided to repaint and refreshen his spitfire; after meticulously taking some parts off and priming the body, other obligations preventing further work arose and thus left this beauty to "sit" for almost 3 decades. This car needs an easy restoration to bring it back to its original driving beauty. The body and all components are in excellent condition. The motor/tranny were in perfect working order when stored. Aside from paint/body, the interior and mechanicals will need a freshen after sitting for so long. You "will not" find a better, more well-preserved "original" Series/Mark 1 Spitfire "anywhere" other than what you see and have found here. The pictures show the car as it currently sits, having "just" been pulled from its long 29 year underground storage, complete with decades of dust and all. Pictures "do not" do this car justice; No disappointments!! Buyer responsible for shipping and related charges.

Up for auction is a nice 1974 Triumph TR-6 ( non-overdrive ) project with only 77,989 miles on the odometer. The car also comes with the rare and highly sought after factory hard top. I will make every effort to detail everything about the car so all interested will be fully informed prior to bidding. Make me an offer and lets make a deal!!! Heritage: This is a true numbers matching car as I know it to be after doing much research. The production date is Oct. 1973, commission number is CF 13445 U, engine number is CF 13568 UE, body tag #1 is T 12525 CF and body tag #2 is 13078 CF. The car is still in its original color of Pimento Red ( paint code #72 ) and interior trim color code #63 Chestnut . I have ordered the British Heritage Certificate from England and I will mail it to the new owner when in comes in ( takes about 30 days or so given the holiday season ). http://www.heritage-motor-centre.co.uk/store/ Mechanicals: The engines runs with a battery and a auxiliary fuel source. The car was last run earlier this year and ran well with no smoke, noises and held good oil pressure. The transmission was removed to replace the clutch. The fuel tank has been recondition and is now ready to re-install. This is a pretty straight forward project to get her back on the road. Note: The tires are brand NEW and the car rolls freely. Gauges: All gauges are correct and original "Smith" brand and where working when the restoration started.. Interior: The seats and door panels are in very good usable condition. As seen the car will need a transmission cover and a carpet kit. Exterior: The car sits nicely on the ground with no leaning, sagging or any signs of the dreaded TR-6 "Squatting " issues. As seen all body panels, hood, trunk, doors and wheel arches are laser straight. The bumpers and luggage rack are in very, very nice condition!! The tires are NEW and where just replaced last week. All glass is original Triplex glass in very nice condition. The car has had no engine fire as seen in the photos of the engine bay and interior but the front hood and rear deck lid look a bit strange so here is the deal on them. The previous owner put something on the front hood and rear deck lid to remove the paint when he started the restoration and screwed it up and never finished removing the paint thus they look the way they do. Both deck lids are in good condition but will need to be striped down prior to painting. Soft Top: The soft top and frame are in serviceable condition but the windows are clouding . Hard Top: The car does come with its rare and highly sought after factory hard top in restorable condition. Underbody: The frame looks very solid. As seen in the photos there is some rust starting on the drivers floor board. Shipping: If you need to have the car shipped to your location here in the states you can get a fast and free online quote from Able Auto Transport at: http://www.ableautotransport.com/ Overseas Bidders: Yes the auction is open to overseas bidders. The auction is open to overseas bidders and if you need to ship overseas try Schumacher Cargo Logistics shipping for fast free quotes ( http://www.schumachercargo.com/ ). I'm not an expert and my opinion of the car may vary from yours so please look at the photos closely and if you need more information or the extra photos I have available please ask prior to bidding. I know how hard it is to purchase a car online so please ask any and all questions you have prior to bidding or if you can come see the car for yourself ( I really encourage you to do so ) as I want the winning bidder to be satisfied with the car when it arrives. No warranties / guarantees are expressed or implied. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auctions end time.
