A rare find in this condition!! This truck has been cared for and professionally modified by its 2nd owner of 20 years. The body and chassis are mostly original from 1980. The gear ratio in the axles was dropped to a 4.88. Lockers front and rear, ARB and detroit respectively. The original 2.0L motor was removed, along with the 4 speed manual transmission. A 5.3L Vortec motor was fitted along with a 4L60E automatic transmission. The original transfer case is in use via an "advanced adapters" product. This work was done between 2000 and 2003. The motor & transmission used was removed from a 2000 Chevy Silverado that had 17,000 miles on it. The Toyota currently stands with 138,000 miles on it while the motor & transmission now as about 20,000 total. At the time the mechanical work was done, the body and paint was done as well. The cab and bed were treated with the "Line-X" protective coating and the cab was left with holes to clean & drain if necessary. A two person bench seat was installed in the bed with seatbelts, and a roll cage was put in up front. My kids love riding in the back, off road. The original hood was modified with a fiber glass riser to allow closure with the larger motor installed. The truck was also lifted about 7" for other clearance issues. This vehicle was done very nicely by people who cared about it and all receipts are available. I'm hoping to see it go to a good home!
