History This FJ60 Land Cruiser spent it first 30 years in Southern California and the last 2 years in Arizona and has zero rust. I have owned this truck for over a year and have just completed an extensive resto mod to better than new condition. Over $30,000 was invested and over eight months of hard work and dedication was done to make this one of the best driving FJ60’s available today. I had no plans to sell this wonderful truck but I am purchasing a business and need capital so unfortunately I have to sell it. This FJ60 has been modified to a Chevy 5.7 liter/350 V8 TBI with an automatic 700R4 transmission but retains the original Toyota transfer case. This engine swap is California Air Resources Board Certified (CARB) Label #N5286757 dated 9/28/2000 and will pass emissions in all 50 states. See the State Certification sticker photo below. The 5.7 liter V8 came from a 1994 Chevrolet truck with 70,000 miles. In early 1999 the original 4.2 liter 2F carburetor caught fire and burned the top end as well as the hood. The insurance company determined it a loss and paid the claim so the title is “salvage”. Let me be clear this truck has never been in an accident. This was a perfect situation for the owner to convert it to the more powerful 5.7 /350 V8 with throttle body injection and automatic transmission. Sadly, the conversion was only 80% completed and the truck was parked in 2002 in Palm Springs California. I purchased it in 2015 and just completed the resto mod to its present state which is spectacular. Condition This FJ60 runs drives and stops absolutely awesome it’s like a new truck it even smells brand new inside. The power is strong and the transmission shifts smooth as silk. The factory FJ62 automatic shifter is also a great custom touch. There are NO rattles, squeaks or wind noise of any kind it really is very impressive to drive. Everything works as it should including all door locks, lights, wipers, seat belts, heater and A/C. The 4 wheel drive system engages smooth and operates perfect. It has never been wrecked and even has all the original factory Toyota glass including the windshield which is very rare. As you can see from the photos I did not repaint the under carriage, differentials or frame rails they are original everything was simply cleaned and wiped down. The original chrome rocker panel side trim "the snake blinders" are also intact and in very nice condition. Factory jack and tool kit are also included. It comes with the original Toyota owners manual, owners guide specific to California only and original signed Toyota Touch Personalized Pre-delivery service sheet from the dealer. Eric Murphy of Camelback Toyota in Phoenix and a proud member of Copper State Cruiser Club inspected and drove this truck on 1/31/17 and was very impressed with everything. He claimed it was the tightest, most quiet FJ60 he has ever driven and would vouch for its condition. To find a better JF60 I believe you would have to employ Jonathan Ward from ICON4x4 in Los Angeles to build you one at around $130,000 and at least a year’s time. I am not saying this is an ICON level truck but it’s the best FJ60 you get for the money and you can use it. It was built to be enjoyed and look great doing it. I get glowing complements and thumbs up every time I drive it. Cool old schools looks with modern performance and drivability. The truck has been road tested for around 600 miles after resto mod completion with no issues. It runs 70 miles an hour on the freeway without effort. Clear Arizona title in my name with current emissions and registration. CarFax report verifies no structural damage and odometer check verifies 194,000 original miles. This listing is for two Toyota FJ60 Land Cruiser wagons-one is a 1984 model year daily driver and the other is a 1987 model year and is included for spare parts or, as with the interior, to sell or use in another Cruiser. The Beautiful Vintage 1984 Toyota Landcruiser FJ60 is a living testament to the legendary durability and timeless beauty of Landcruiser design and engineering. Originally sold at the American Toyota dealership in Albuquerque, New Mexico it has been owned by two families in New Mexico and South Africa that have taken very good care of it and have utilized it to its full potential. I have a photocopy of the original title issued in 1984. Despite having nearly 373,000 miles! on it it is still in daily driver condition-miles are increasing daily as it is my daily driver. It comes with the original owner's manual, touchup paint, and inspection light. The paint, moldings, chrome, bumpers, and trim are all original. The original carpet is still installed, but it is torn some in the rear cargo area. In the passenger compartment, the carpet is in good shape, if a little faded from the sun. There is no rust, although the original 33 year old paint is getting thin in spots, which is giving it a beautiful patina. The dashboard has a crack. The window crank handles are missing the rotating knobs at the end of them. The AC has been retrofitted to R-134A, the hose under the battery tray has a slow leak, so right now the AC does not work and would need a recharge. There is also an oil leak from the power steering reservoir. The cylinder head gasket was recently replaced, the head was rebuilt, and a new radiator was installed. There is an engine oil leak-was going to rebuild and reseal the second engine included in the silver parts FJ60 (pictured) that is offered for sale along with this one in the listing. The second cruiser has just over 247,000 miles and was running strong until the head gasket went out on it. It has blue interior, which is in really good shape, and can be sold off to pay for the expense of owning a second spare parts Landcruiser full of all sorts of mechanical parts available for use on the tan Landcruiser to keep it running strong another 370,000 miles. The second cruiser has no title and no keys-both lost-and is being sold as is for spare parts. Its AC system is still fully intact and it still has freon in it. I was going to take off the A/C hoses and install them on the tan Cruiser. The transmission, differentials, axles, transfer case, power steering, steering gear, and frame are all in good shape. The only problems it has are the corrosion in the usual quarter panel spots, and the head is off the engine. The carburetor is good for a rebuild unit, and the emissions control parts are present for both trucks. The idle circuit on the carb in the tan FJ60 is acting up some and sometimes the truck dies out when it's hot. But it always easily restarts. The silver FJ60 is the 1987. Both are offered as-is where is, with no warranty stated or implied. These are vintage trucks and together you can restore the tan beauty, sell off some of the silver one, and get a good deal if you want to put in some sweat equity. That was my plan and I made some progress, but, alas, my plans have changed and I need something better on fuel as I drive over 25,000 miles a year. I will work with the buyer and hold the trucks as long as you need. The silver one is a tow away, as stated previously-no keys and the engine is partially disassembled. Both trucks have the original wheels and the 1984 even has the original rear hub caps and mud flaps. The tan truck can drive anywhere and is really fun to drive. It also has new 31X1050X15 MasterCraft Courser tires that have less than 3,000 miles on them. Either way, shipping is the buyer's responsibility. I will hold the trucks as long as needed and facilitate pick up by a shipper or by the buyer. Would prefer to sell both Cruisers together, but will consider selling one or the other. If you're interested, make an offer. I happen to think the asking price is fair, considering the 1984 requires only freshening up and upholstery on the front seats to be restored, other than some other interior touches and some minor mechanical stuff, and would be a $15,000 to $20,000 truck once complete, and the parts on the '87 are worth quite a bit, considering some are hard to find, and a lot of the interior is in good condition. With a second truck you could rebuild the engine while driving the first and when complete install the engine and be good to go.

For Sale! In NM, 1984 FJ60 has 220,600 original miles on the stock I6 (4 spd manual) As far as I know, I am the third owner and the first out of the state of California. I purchased it 3 years ago. It is mostly original from the paint, headliner, wheels, and seats and most of the upholstery. It is in great condition, and is a contender for a full restore should you wish. (I have replaced the factory side mirrors and center console, but do have the originals in the garage) As it is now it is quite impressive having no rust and I suspect it was garage kept in CA. It’s been under a carport here and has been a solid driver. Tires are 85%, just put in new radiator, water pump, sending unit, fan clutch, and battery (Toyota parts if available). In the last few years the front hubs have been resealed, steering knuckles rebuilt, and a new master brake cylinder was put in. New oil pan, main seal, clutch, new master cylinder, rebuilt carburetor, spark plugs, 32” tires and more! She runs well and I have driven her as far as 6-7 hours to go fly fishing and camping. This vehicle has no rust, just minor surface spots. Body is straight and true with just minor dings and factory paint. Factory working AM/FM radio is a plus and even has original rims and owner’s manual! The dash is cracked in 3-4 places and I have just put a replacement dash on top. It is not glued down as other FJ owners told me they will crack as well, and just ruin the original completely getting it off. May need a refrigerant recharge… I have a little over $16,000 in it and am asking $10,000, but will consider offers. Let me know if you have any specific questions I can answer. Selling my 1987 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 It's a good 'ole rig, driven daily and taken care of mechanically These are bare bones SUV's, perfect for offroad fun and rugged trails but very capable and reliable for daily use. This vehicle was involved in an incident years back that resulted in the drivers quarter panel damage shown in the photos which resulted in the insurance company declaring it a TOTAL LOSS CLAIM of course based on the age and mileage of the vehicle. Little do insurance companies know that these vehicles will take a bump and keep on going and have a cult like following so their values are high. It's been driven daily since without fail due to the damage incurred [the tailight and tailgate were replaced for functionality purposes of course]. That said, the damage is there and noted in the history but can be repaired or just drive on :) A replacement rear quarter panel would be the best way to go for repair...... available right here on eBay and a fairly easy cut out and weld in job for the novice. The body has been bumped and bruised here and there and even some rust popping through during it's life, as to be expected but the areas were taken care of as best as possible then resprayed accordingly so it's does not have an even color match [i.e; it has scars which equals character :) ] The rusted areas [rear quarter wheel opening areas ~ where they all rust at least a little] that were repaired years ago are showing need for repair again and repainted of course but it all depends how far the next owner wants to take the 'restoration'. The wheels are the original chrome and the tires are still real decent and all 5 [counting the spare] match. The interior is pretty good with the drivers seat showing the most wear/tear. The dash, headlining, door panels, etc... are all what I consider to be in great condition. The drivers side rear inner interior quarter panels were removed to gain access the the damaged area but are included. It does have a nice upgraded CD stereo system installed as well. The engine was replaced about 4-5 years ago with a rebuilt unit from a reputable local shop and starts, runs and operates great. I believe the carburetor was replaced with a rebuilt or new unit as well and numerous routine maintenance items have been replaced or refurbished through the years w/ receipts to pass NC inspection requirements. All mechanicals operate great and it is a very dependable daily driver. The 4X4 works great as well and has been serviced and maintained along with the rest of the mechanicals and used regularly. It is quipped with the hard to find safari roof rack, frame mounted front brush guard w/ winch mount, rear class III hitch and an OME ~ Old Man Emu lift kit w/ receipts...... To wrap up....... this is a hard to find vehicle that has been taken care of mechanically for reliability, offered in a price range not found often. I've owned many FJ40's, FJ55's, etc... and love this FJ60 but life changes, moving, etc... make this sale necessary. I have 2 FJ55's I hope to list soon as well but they have been sitting a while and will require some effort before listing ~ just an FYI for those FJ55 enthusiasts to watch my listings in the future.
